Chapter 13

“Hey, Laura?” Nick asked before we left for dinner.

“Yes Nick?” I asked, stepping away from Sayde who continued flirting with AJ.

“Uh…umm…would you…umm…would you like to sit next to me during dinner?” he blurted out.

“Umm…sure…”I said a little puzzled. I walked over to Ani who was talking to Joey.

“Nick, you okay?” Brian asked.

“I chickened out man! I was going to ask her!” he whined.

“There will be other opportunities!” Brian laughed.

“Shut up man! It’s not funny!” he whined.

“Whatever you say Nicky.”

“Hey! I told you not to call me that!”

“Well, when you act like you’re six, I’m allowed to call you that!”

“Coming guys?” I asked from the limo.

“Yeah,” Brian said sitting next to me.

“So, where are we going?” Sayde asked.

“We have reservations at a french restaurant. It’s the first night of the new chef, and they invited several celebrities,” Joey told us.

“Sounds good to me!” she smiled.

We were seatedat a table of 14, because my dancers had decided to stay at the hotel and do their own thing tonight.

“Laura! How are you?” Jason asked as he approached the table.

“Jason! What’s up? I haven’t seen you in a while!” I said getting up to give him a hug.

“Going to introduce us?” Sayde laughed.

“Oh! Of course! Jason, this is Sayde, Ani, Chris, and I’m pretty sure you know the rest. Everyone, this is Jason from Lifehouse.”

“Wait, is this THE Jason?” Ani asked.

“Yeah, this is THE Jason,” I laughed.

“THE Jason?” Brian asked confused.

“Oh, we went out for a couple months last year, but had to split up due to our tours, but we’re remained really good friends,” Jason said.

“Yeah, but he hasn’t called me in a while!” I playfully glared at him.

“Well, I’m here now aren’t I?” he laughed.

“Where are the others?” I asked looking around, spotting the rest of Lifehouse at a table on the other side of the room.

“Wanna come say hi?” Jason asked.

“Definitely!” I walked over to the table and greeted the two guys I’d talked to on the phone so many times when Jason and I were dating.

“Hey Laura! You look great!” Sergio said, giving me a hug.

“Thanks! How long are you guys in town?” I asked.

“We’re here all summer just like you!” Rick said.

“Laura?” Jason asked as I was about the walk back to the table.

“Yeah?” I asked turning around.

“I was wondering, would you like to go to dinner with me tomorrow night to catch up on things? Just as friends of course!” he laughed.

“Sure! Pick me up at 7?” I smiled.

“Sure!” I gave him my room number and headed back to the table.

“He’s sexy!” Sayde commented.

“Yeah,” I laughed.

“What did he have to ask you?” Ani asked.

“Oh, he asked me out to dinner for tomorrow night to catch up and everything.”

“Cool! Maybe you’ll get back together for the summer!” Sayde said.

“Who knows!” I laughed before ordering.

“It’s okay bud. They’re probably just going as friends!” Brian whispered to Nick.

“Yeah, I guess….ugh! I wish I had asked when I had the chance!” he replied, a little too loudly.

“Ask who what?” I asked turning to them.

“Oh...ummm…nothing,” Nick stammered.

“Ouuhh! Is it a girl?” I laughed. “Nicky wants to aska girl out!” I teased.

“I do not!” he blushed and turned his back to me.

“Anyways, what’s up with you and Brian?” I whispered to Ani.

“Well, we’re going out to dinner tomorrow night.”

“Go Ani! You guys seem like you’d make a really great couple!”

“Ya think so?” she smiled.

“Definitely!”

“What about you and Nick? I think he’s kinda hurt after hearing Sayde’s comment about you and Jason.”

“Nothing is going to happen between Jason and I. We’re just really good friends!”

“Well, that’s good! Just make sure you don’t break any hearts…you’ll most likely regret it at the end of the summer.”

“Yes mom! I’ll keep that in mind!” I laughed.

“So, what about you and AJ?” Ani asked Sayde.

“Well, he’s totally crazy like me, but I’m not sure quite yet if he really wants a relationship right now. I dunno if I really want a relationship right now. It really depends. Oh, I don’t know!” she laughed.

“It’ll all work out some way!” Ani and I laughed.

“What are you girls laughing about?” Justin asked.

“We’re laughing at all you pathetic guys,” I laughed.

“Oh, great! That’s wonderful to hear,” Lance laughed.

“You know it!” Kevin laughed.

The food came and we ate slowly, enjoying our little conversations.

“So, how much is the bill? I’ll pay,” Howie offered.

“Monsieur, for you all the chef has sent his compliments, and says that you will not pay on one condition,” the waiter said.

“Wow, that’s awfully nice of him. What is the one condition?” I asked.

“The chef’s daughter loves you madamoiselle, and he wants you to sign this for her,” the waiter said handing me a napkin.

“Of course!” I smiled and signed it. “May I give this to him myself?”

“Sure madamoiselle.”

I walked into the kitchen and said hello to the chef, and handed him the napkin.

“Does your daughter have tickets to my show in two weeks?” I asked him.

“Ahh, no. I’m afraid they were all sold out what I called to buy tickets.”

“Well, I have three tickets with me, and I’d love it if you and your family could come to the concert!”

”Oh, thank you so much madamoiselle!” he said as he kissed my hand.

“It’s my pleasure! I hope you enjoy the concert!”

“Oh, I’m sure we will!” he smiled.

“That was really nice of you!” Justin smiled when I met them on the way out.

“Anything I can do for a fan!” I smiled.

“I’m a fan! What will you do for me?” Joey winked.

We all just laughed and ignored him, and went back to the hotel.
