“Laura? Wanna dance?” Nick asked.
“Sure!” We went out on the dance floor of the club we’d gone to after dinner. The day had been fun, and Ani and I had gotten a little tanner.
“You look really pretty tonight,” Nick said looking in my eyes. “Wow, your eyes are so beautiful. I feel like I can look into your soul through your eyes.”
“Well, you look really handsome tonight too,” I blushed. He was dressed in khaki cargo pants and a tight blue shirt. I was wearing a short black skirt and a red tank top.
After a while we headed back to the table, and Nick went to get us drinks.
“Why aren’t you on the dance floor?” I asked Lance who was sitting at the table.
“Well, I’m fine when I’m doing choreography that I’ve been taught, but when I’m in a club, I’m a disaster!” he laughed.
Nick returned with our strawberry daiquiris, and the three of us started talking.
“Hey, I want you to meet someone!” AJ said interrupting us. I looked at the girl with him and did a double take.
“Sayde!” I screamed. “It’s so good to see you!!”
“Laura! It’s been too long! How are you girl? I’ve talked to you so much, but it’s been too long since we saw each other!”
“I know! What are you doing here?”
“A bunch of my friends from Berkeley came down for So Cal Summer! Plus, I was hoping that I’d be able to see you, though I never thought this would be how it happened!”
“Okay, how do you two know each other”” AJ asked confused.
“She’s the fourth and final member of our group! She moved away from us junior year, and we haven’t been able to see each other in too long!”
“Sayde, is that you?” Chris and Ani asked approaching the table.
“Oh my gosh! How are you two?” Sayde asked giving them hugs.
“Wow! We’re all together again!” Ani smiled.
“Yeah, the way it should be!” I said.
“I’ve never fully forgiven my parents for moving me away from you guys!” Sayde said.
We all sat down and continued to reminisce.
“Wow, it’s late! The place is closing in 15 minutes,” Kevin noticed.
“It’s 3:45 already? Wow, it doesn’t seem like that much time has passed!” I yawned.
“What hotel are you staying in?” Chris asked Sayde. It turned out that she was staying at the same hotel. We all went back together, and Sayde came up to my room so she wouldn’t wake up her friends who had left the club hours before.
“Laura! What’s up?” Drew, from 98 Degrees, asked when we stepped out of the elevator.
“Hey! I didn’t realize you guys were staying here too! I guess they put most of us in here!” I said.
“Yeah, I’ll see you later! I’m going for a swim because I can’t sleep!” Drew said.
“Later!”
“Whoa! Who else is staying here?” Sayde asked.
“Umm…Sugar Ray, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Dave Matthew’s Band, Sum 41, J. Lo, Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, Indie Arie, and of course 98 Degrees.
“Wow! That’s a lot of stars in one hotel!”
“Yeah, it’s kinda scary! I can’t wait to see the guys of Sum 41 again! They’re so crazy!”
We went in my room and talked for a while before going to sleep.

“Hey Carson!” I said once again in my new bikini.
“Yikes! This is the new bathing suit?” Carson whistled.
“Yup! You guys like?” I asked the audience, and all the guys whistled and clapped.
“Definitely!” Carson said. “So, are you ready?”
“Yup! Today I’m performing Goodbye Love and Boy Next Door!” I said as the music began for the first song. Afterwards, I stayed on for a couple more videos, once again seeing mine at number one. I then headed off to meet up with the others. I found them laying about on the private beach, that MTV had closed off to everyone except the stars, so we could get some time away from fans. Ani and I had been the only ones who went to the beach yesterday, so I hadn’t seen any of the guys in bathing suits.
“Hey everyone,” I said as I reached them, and the first response was whistling from the guys.
“Your performance was great! And your clothing choice didn’t hurt either,” Nick winked.
I pulled off the shorts I had been wearing, and felt several eyes checking me out. I looked around to see who else was on the beach. I spotted No Doubt, a couple members from Good Charlotte and Mandy Moore and her boyfriend who plays Fez on That 70’s Show.
“Who wants to go in the water?” I asked. Nick, Brian, Ani, and I ran into the water and started splashing about. Nick dunked me under and I stayed under for as long as I could and then jumped up and pushed him over.
“Laura! You scared me! Please don’t do that again! When you didn’t come up I was really worried!” Nick said looking me in the eyes.
“You were worried?” I asked, melting in his bright blue eyes.
“Of course! I would hate for anything bad to happen to you,” he said as he lightly rubbed my cheek. We moved closer, and leaned in to a soft kiss. All of a sudden a huge splash came over us, and when we broke apart we saw Ani and Brian laughing.
“Aww, the cute couple is mad at us,” Ani laughed.
I stuck my tongue out, and ignored the ‘couple’ comment.
‘I really like Nick. That kiss felt so good. But is this really supposed to be happening?’ I thought to myself.
