“Laura? Where are you?” Tamara’s voice echoed through the bus.
“I’m in the back checking out the entertainment room!”
It was the morning that we were leaving and I had just been introduced to my new home for the next few months. I’d be sharing the bus with all my girl dancers which was awesome because we’d all grown to be really good friends.
“Well, I have a surprise for you! Come here!” I walked out to her and she pressed a button on the kitchen stereo.
“Oh my gosh! That’s my song!” I screamed.
“Yup! This is your first single!” Tamara laughed.
I started dancing and singing to the song and pretty soon most of my dancers were dancing with me.
“What’s going on in here? The bus is shaking!” Brian laughed.
“Hey Bribear!” I hugged him and kissed his cheek after the song was over.
“Aww! Why is he the only one who gets a kiss?” AJ pouted.
“I’m sorry Wildthang.” I had given all the guys nicknames and called them those instead of their real names.
Just then Sidney walked into the room reading a book.
“Whatcha reading Bubbles?”
“Many Waters by Madeline L’Engle,” she replied.
“Okay. All of us have been wondering this. Where did you get the name Bubbles??” Nick asked confused.
We both burst out laughing. “For Christmas in my sophomore year of high school, Sidney gave everyone candy bubbles. She decided to be lazy and gave me a bottle that we’d opened in the beginning of the summer, which turned out to be disgusting! So we’ve teased her about it ever since!” I continued laughing and the guys joined in.
Just then we heard a whistle blow, and we all got off the bus to check it out.
“Oh there you are!” Veronica, BSB’s manager, said. “We’re leaving in five minutes, so everyone needs to get on their OWN bus and make sure they have everything they need!”
I walked back on my bus and climbed the ladder up to my chosen bunk. I started setting it up so it would be homier and seem more like me. I put tons of pictures up everywhere I could find room, and put my favorite flannel sheets on my bed.
“Hey Laura! Aren’t you excited?” Sidney asked from the top bunk across from me.
“Yeah! But also a little nervice! I mean, what if they don’t like me?? What if I’m totally humiliated??”
“Chill! You’ll do fabulously! You have an awesome voice and some awesome dancers!” Raven laughed.
“Thanks Raven. I needed that.” I sighed laying down on my bunk.
*Ring Ring*
“Hello?” I answered my baby blue cell phone.
“Hey babe. It’s me, Nick. What’s up?”
“Hey Nick! Not much here. Just getting all our stuff organized.”
“Same here. And the guys are being boring,” Nick pouted.
“Aww! Poor Nicky!” I laughed.
“Hey! I told you not to call me that!” I could just imagine his huge pout on the other side of the phone, and burst out laughing again.
“I’m sorry babe!” I stopped laughing.
“Sorry! Not good enough!” He cackled and hung up.
“So what’s up with Mr. Carter and you?” Kaleigh asked.
“Nothing. At least not what I wish were up.” I sighed.
“Well. I have a feeling that he’ll surprise you fairly soon,” Raven laughed and ignored my pleadings to tell me what she meant.
“Don’t worry. You’ll find out soon enough.”
