This is my second story, please write and tell me what you think... ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ It was one of those days. Ya know, the ones where nothing seems to be going right? My car wouldn’t start and on all of the days it had to break down, but on the day of the concert. I was designated to drive my two other friends and myself to the stadium and Meet and Greets. We were going to see Nsync. Yea yea, I know, ‘Your 20! Why do you wanna go see a boy band?!’ but the truth is, if you won Meet and Greets on accident by a radio station, would you pass it down? My phone started to ring. I shoved on my other slipper and ran to answer it. “Yea?” I answered. My friend Alecia was on the other line asking when I would pick her up. “Umm, pick up?...slight problem there.” I said, “my car broke down. Think we could take the subway?” I asked. Thank god we lived in NYC. She agreed. “Ooo, I’m busy. Think you could call Carrie?” I asked. She said she would. We said goodbye and I hung up. “AGHHH!” I shouted in the air. If we took the subway, that left me about 15 minutes to get fully dressed and wash my hair. “NO!” I yelled again. I ran to my dresser and took the whole drawer out, slamming it on the ground. “Perfect, just sweet!” I yelled some more. I’m not psycho or anything, just very frustrated. I pulled on some snakeskin pants, fake of course, a black shirt with an open back and put on my long black coat. I looked phat. I ran past a mirror and screamed. My hair had gonna completly flat and looked retarded because I have short short hair. “Aww,GOD!” I yelled. I quickly grabbed some heavy gel and sopped it over my head and sprayed water on it. Then ran over to my bathroom and spruced it up with my blow dryer. ‘Ohh, god please let this work...’ I pled silently to myself. Beep Beep! It was Alecia and Carrie. This made me very angry. I stuck my go-go boots on and ran out. “You got a car?!” I yelled. “My mom wasnt going to work today. She let me use it.” Carrie answered. I shook my head and jumped in. Carrie had Nsync’s cd blasting over her cd player. “Woa, woa, since when did we listen to pop music?” I asked. “We like them. Just listen to it, Faith. You’ll like it too.” Alecia said. “Alecia, are you diggin’ this stuff?!” I asked, unbeliveing. Alecia was a rocker chick. She hardly ever liked pop music. “Yea...have you seen this guy? Hes hot!” she said pointing to a guy with red tipped hair and facial hair. “He’s ok,” I said, “here let me see that.” I said, grabbing the cd cover from her hands. My eyes were stuck on one of the guys in particular. “Do either of you guys know this guys name?” I asked. I pointed at a spiky haired blonde guy. Alecia squinted at the picture of him and shook her head no. “Its funny. Their always on tv, yet we don’t thier names.” she said. “Could you guys quiet down? Theres alot of traffic here, and its hard to drive!” Carrie yelled. Alecia and I laughed. “OK Mom!” Alecia mocked. Carrie smacked her arm. She kept snickering. I took the cover again and opened the pocket. “DUH!” I yelled out loud. “SHH!” Carrie hushed. “Soorry, “ I said, in a whisper. “Here, look. Their names are in here...” I said. “Oh really? We just took it from Carries sister before we left. So, whats his name?” Alecia asked. “Its...Joey. And mines...Lance? Eww, kind of a funky name for a guy duntcha think?” I asked. “Yea...kinda gay!” Alecia teased. I smacked her. “Faith and Lance sittin’ in a tree...” Alecia started. “Don’t you think were kind of old for that?” I asked. Alecia was two years older than me anyway. “Not THIS version!!” she said. I made a disgusted face. “Don’t EVEN! I don’t LIKE this guy, I just, I just think he’s a little cute...” I said, looking out the window. “A little?” Alecia asked. Even Carrie turned around and looked at me. “Ok!!! I confess, he’s HOT! There I said it!” I yelled. Alecia snickered at me and turned back in her seat. I slouched down in my seat and soaked in the music. I, of all people, was beggining to like their music. I sat back and thought of that guy, Lance, and could not stop. After about the second time the cd played, we reached the Meet and Greet station. We parked the car next to a huge moving van, so we would remember where we parked. We got out. Alecia was wearing her black pants, and purple almost see through shirt. “I see we went goth today.” I said. “I see we went mod today. “she answered back. “Yea...It’s all I found. “ I said, shrugging my shoulders. Carrie was real different from Alecia and me. She was a skater boardering on preppie. She had long blonde hair that she usually wore in two braids.Today it was flowing. I think everyone was actually trying to impress these guys, including me. We walked up to a certain policeman and asked him where the Meet and Greets were. “You got passes, kids?” he asked. I snickered at him calling us ‘kids’ and he looked at me angrily. “Something funny?” he asked. “No,” I said, straightening up. We all held out our passes and he pointed behind him. Carrie smiled at him. “Umm, wait up.” he said. “If you wanna meet them alone, go over there, there all over there.” he said. We thanked him and began to walk away. “But don’t let anyone follow you!” he shouted. We all nodded and walked over. Carrie began fussing with her hair, I scrunched my hair and Alecia didn’t do a thing. She didn’t believe in looking good for guys. Any guys. We trembled over to a closed door and knocked on it. A tall, curly haired guy answered. “Well, hello?” he greeted us with a confused look on his face. We didn’t realize it was a guy from Nsync. “Hi.” is all that came out of me. Alecia stepped forward and said, “Look, do you know where we could find some guys that look like this?” she said holding out the cd cover. Carrie and me stood there silent. “Why don’t you look a little more closer at that...” he answered. Alecia glanced down at the cover and saw the guys face. She gathered herself and looked up. “Oh.” she said, “as you can see we’re pretty much all blondes...” she said. He laughed, smoothing over the awkward moment. “Hey, you girls wanna come in here, ya know, to just chill out for awhile?” he asked. Then I saw him. He had a toothbrush in his mouth, “Hey Justin, whose at the door?” he asked. “Come in ladies...” Justin whispered to us. We all walked in. Alecia made herself comfortable at once. I wanted to look around. I wanted to see that guy again. “So, umm, what are your names?” Justin asked. Another guy came in and sat down, with his legs wide open. ‘Well, he looks a little too comfy...’ I thought. “I’m Alecia, this is Carrie and this is...” Alecia. “I’m Faith. Hi.” I said. I didn’t want this guy to think Carrie and I were mutes. “Yo wassup?” the other guy said. I didn’t really recognize him, but he had a sweet voice. Very relaxing. “I’m J.c.” he said. “Yea, and I’m Justin...wow....” he said, with a tone of wonder in his voice. I sat back and wondered why he was so gosh darn surprised that we hardly knew him. “I can’t beleive you really have no clue what our names are.” he said. I felt that this needed a cocky answer. “Would you expect yourself to see a homeless man on the street and automatically know his name?” I asked. Justin was set back by my answer. “Oh, I’m sorry. Don’t take my question like that...I’m sorry.” he says. The other guy hits him, “Yea man, what be your problem!?” he asks. Then I see Lance again. He had his head popped over the corner. “Justin? Jc? Who are you guys talking to?” he asked. “Come ‘ere!” Justin called. “We really should...” Lance started. He looked over and saw us. “Oh...” he said. Then he caught eyes with me and looked over at Justin. “Do we have time for this? We can’t just let every fan in, ya know.” he said. I felt disapointed he didnt want us there, and my heart sank real low. “These aren’t fans tho Lance...” Jc said. “They aren’t??” Lance asked confused. “Yea, thier reporters.” Justin said, winking slyly at us. “They are??” he asked confused again. I wanted Lance to hear me. I wanted his attention. “Yea, we are.” I stood up, “I’m Faith.” I said. I reached my hand out. He looked at me. “Faith...I’m Lance. Thats a very beautiful name. “ he said. I smiled. “Thank you...tell me, Is your name really Lance? I know thats a stupid question and all but...” I said, regretting I even opened my mouth. He still had not let go of my hand. “My real name is James.” he said. “Oh, thats a bit better then. “I said, and turned away. ‘UGH!! Why am I acting like such a fool!?!’ I yelled to myself. Justin, Jc, Alecia, and Carrie were all watching us talk and when we noticed, we both blushed. “Well!” Alecia interrupted, “we should be getting to our nosebleed seats...” she said. “Aww, bad tickets? Thats gotta suck.” Jc says. He gets up. He walks right past Alecia, accidentlly or not, touching her butt. She gasped but he acted like he did nothing. “Here, have these...” he said grabbing his hand into a plastic cup. “Backstage tickets or front row tickets. Which would you rather have? I suggest backstage, we have the phattest parties afterwards.” he said. “Yea and we’d love to see you there.” Justin added. “How about we take the backstage?” Carrie said. That was the first thing she said the whole time. “Welll, we actually do have a voice!” Jc said surprised. “Yea...” she said. “Aww, Carries just shy.” I said. Jc smiled. “I love shy girls...grrr.” he said, growling at her. We took it as him just trying to get a laugh out of us. Lance still had my hand. I looked down. “Aww, geez! Have I stolen your hand? I’m soorry...” he said. I laughed. He says sorry just like me. He looked at me and smiled. “So what business do you work for?” he asked. “Business?” I asked. “Yea, your a reporter right?” he asked. I didn’t want to lie. “Umm, uhh, I work for...” I stumbled. He looked at me confused. “Are you alright, Faith?” he asked. “Seventeen!” Alecia butted in. I looked at her, surprised. “Oh, thats strange. I usually find out first if we have an interview from a magazine.” he said. I bit my lower lip. “Well, not this time buddy!” Justin said. “Ok, well I’ll go get Joey and Chris.” he said. I lost my breath. “Alecia, could we have a second?” I asked her. We walked over to the door. “Do you have any idea how much trouble we’re in!?” I whispered to her harshly. “They started it. We can’t get into much trouble. Plus we can ask anything we want!” Alecia said, her eyes wide. “So nothing will happen right?” I ask. “NOTHING!” she said. I shook my head and ran my fingers through my hair. “I have to sit down...” I whispered. When I get stressed out, I sometimes, uh, pass out. Joey and Chris walk in the room. “Alright..a surprise interview!” Chris says. “Come here Chrissy, sit next to me...” Justin says. Chris waltzes over acting gay. Joey sits next to Alecia and Carrie. Lance walks in and sits across from me. He looked up at me and smiled twice. “OK! First question...” Alecia says. “Don’t you need paper?” Joey asks. “Oh! Yea, I knew I felt naked!” she says. Jc’s eyes raise. I saw him do it, and snicker. Jc looks at me and says, “Oh you saw that??” he asks. I nod, laughing. Joey I guess had gotten up to get paper. He came back two minutes later. He handed us all two pieces and pens. “Oh, I’m not a reporter.” Carrie said. Alecia looked wide-eyed at her. “I’m just here for the ride, ya know?” she says. Jc smiles. “Yea, baby. I know.” he snickers. Carrie laughs at his answer. “First question, ummm...” Alecia looked stumped. How could you ask questions people wanna know about, if you yourself have no clue about the person your interviewing. “Umm, so where did you grow up?” she asked. Justin laughed. “How about we ask the questions.” he offered. Alecia and I blushed. “Yea...maybe you could do that.” I said. “Faith, where did you grow up?” Lance asks. “Wait, your asking questions about us?” I asked. “Yea.” Justin answered. I was game. “I grew up in Brooklyn.” I answered. “Hey! So did I!” Joey yelled out. “No one cares, Joey!!!” Jc yelled. Justin and Chris crack up laughing at Joey. I was real comfortable around them. They weren’t like jerks, they were real down to earth. “Carrie, do you have any cats?” Jc asked. “Cats? No, I’m allergic to them.” she answers. Jc sticks his toungue out and smiles. The guys all laugh at him. “Inside joke?” I ask. “You’d have no idea, Faith.” Lance replies. “Oh boy!” I say, acting like I don’t wanna know, but I was dying to know. “Can I ask one question?” Carrie asks. “Shoot.” Jc says. “Justin...” she starts, everyone ‘oo-ing’. “Do you date Britney Spears?” she asks. “Good question...that I won’t answer.” he says. Chris and Joey laugh. “Could we answer?” they ask. “Sure ya can, if you don’t wanna wake up with toungues.” he says smiling at them. “You really don’t have to answer if you...” Carrie starts to say again. “Yes.” he answers. “So thats why you didn’t hit on us...” I say. “No, I left that up to the others tonight.” he says looking around. “Lance and Jc have done real good jobs.” he finishes. ‘He was hitting on me!’ I thought. I smile at Lance. I couldn’t beleive I was letting myself fall for a celebrity that would only break my heart when he would leave. Carrie looked at her watch. “Oh! Shouldn’t you guys leave?” she asks. “We don’t need alot of time. Duh! Were guys!” Jc says. “Right..forgot that one.” she says. In the background, Limp Bizkit’s ‘Rollin’’ begins to play. “Oh phat! This is my jam!” I shout out. I get up and begin to rock it out. Lance looks up at me like I was on drugs. But Jc gets up and begins to jam back with me and soon Joey and Chris, Alecia and Carrie. I take Lance’s hand and we begin to rock it out together. Now this was my kind of date. Limp Bizkit, a hot guy and backstage passes. (end of chapter 1)
