I smiled, awkwardness washing throughout my body.
"Well, I'm gonna go take Dylan over here...yeah," Brian announced and quickly left the room.
"So, is Mr. Hartnett gonna be our houseguest for a while?" Jennifer questioned.
"Yeah, but only for about a week," Josh stated, "I have to go do some press."
"Oh."
AJ and Josh soon left the room to find Brian and have a conversation of their own. Nick plopped down on the couch, zoning out on the television screen.
"Oh man," I sighed.
"What?" Jennifer questioned.
"This is just all too much right now."
"How so?"
"Well, let's see here, Josh still loves me, he kissed me, and he wants to get back together with me."
"He kissed you!? When!?"
"Yesterday morning, at the beach."
"Are you gonna get back together?"
"I don't know. He left me heartbroken last time and I've been in love with him ever since then and I'm not sure if I wanna go back to that again."
"Oh."
"I'm gonna go unpack, I'll see ya later."
I ran up the stairs and locked the door behind me. I sank onto my bed and stared at the ceiling, tracing images with my eyes.
Why did this have to happen now? Why did he have to come back into my life? I can't blame him, since I was the one who agreed to go down there so this is all my fault. There must've been a logical reason as to why I wanted to see him again, but now it's not clear in my mind.
A lonely tear slid down my cheek, I quickly wiped it away. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but I knew I had to let him know within the week.
"Sandra? You in there?" A voice boomed from the other side.
"Yeah, hold on," I replied, walking over to the door. I unlocked the door and was face to face with AJ.
"Hey, you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Did you need something?"
"I just wanted to see where you went, that's all."
"Okay."
"Well, since I'm here, can I come in?"
"Sure."
I stood aside, AJ walked in. I closed the door behind him and joined him on my bed.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes! I'm fine, why do you keep asking that?"
"Cuz you've been acting weird ever since you got home and Josh said you were acting weird around him on the plane."
"Oh, well he's probably the reason I'm acting weird."
"Care to elaborate?"
"He told me he still loves me and wants to get back together with me."
"Shouldn't that be good?"
"You don't understand, he broke my heart the first time and I don't want him to do it again. I'm waiting to see if he can prove himself to me until then I'm gonna tell him I need time to think."
"Sandra, why don't you just get with him again? He seems to care enough to come back here with you."
"Yeah, and how do I know he's just not doing that for Dylan?"
"I don't think he would."
"AJ, did you only come up here to try and dictate my decision?"
"No."
"Well, you're doing one hell of a job of doing that!"
"Sorry."
"Can you just go?"
"Sure."
He left the room and I fell back onto the mattress and began crying.
