Where's Tommy?

Part Fifteen: Questions

The man stood at a phone. The woman stood, wearing nearly nothing, in the corner. He looked at her. She stood casually, leaning against the door jamb.

"You heard me girl," the voice said. "If I don't get what I want, he'll get it."

"Prove to me that you've got him," Nicole snapped. "How do I know you're not joking?"

"I've got the boy right here," the voice replied. "Let me have him talk to you."

Mike, Peter, and Micky watched, as Nicole listened to the voice on the other line. Her face drained of all color, and she fell, limp, into Mike's arms.

Peter picked up the phone. "What do you want?" he demanded.

The man's voice was angry on the phone. "Just money, he snapped to the caller. "Nothing else. "

"We don't have any money," Peter protested. "Honestly. "

"Well, then, get the money," the man snapped.

"How am I supposed to do that?" Peter asked.

" I don't care how. That's your problem. Just get the money or he'll die," the man's voice replied angrily. Then he slammed down the phone and walked across the room.

"Did you hear that boy? Your so-called-father better come through, or you'll be in trouble," he snapped in his face.

"Davy? Davy?"

"Are you alive?"

"Are you having another vision?" Micky asked.

Davy blinked. "Not anymore," he muttered.

"What did you see?" Nicole asked.

"A phone call," Davy replied, mumbling. The others exchanged glances.
