Greetings everyone!

The fourth of July is the time when "our" nation celebrates it's "independance" from Britain and our "freedom" as a people. There is always talk of how we live in "the freeest country on earth" and how our rights are garaunteed by the constitution and the Bill of Rights.

What is consistantly forgotten is that the bill of rights ia the direct result of the efforts of the AntiFederalists who fought AGAINST the ratification of the constitution for the exact same reasons that Anarchists fight against the government it created.

The American capitalist system favors the Rich.

It always has and it always will. It relies on a selective form of representative government to divide the people between two opposing monolithic "parties" that fail to represent anyone except the corporations that pay for the campaigns.

America has been called the land of the free and the home of the brave. This country has always been one of the last to intervene nonviolently on behalf of human rights and one of the first to urge violence. The "land of the free" allowed slavery to exist longer than any other major "democratic" nation.The majority of Americas people are legally barred from owning and operating radio stations because of the same type of wealth requirements that barred the poor from voting against the constitution. These requirements serve the same purpose now as they did then: to preserve the status quo.

We of the Fremont Anarchist Federation have taken this opportunity to give the people of Fremont an opportunity to look int the sky and see a real symbol of freedom this morning. Hanging from the flagpoles of all five high schools and the District Office are Anarchist flags. Flags that symbolize real freedom: a world without borders, worker controled workplaces, community descision making, and an end to poverty.

We have chosen the schools for a variety of reasons as listed below:

• - Schools should be places of learning where questions and discussion are commonplace. Instead in many classrooms students willing to stand up and contradict a teacher in class and provide proof for what they are saying are labeled as trouble makers and punished accordingly.
• - The "Career Centers" of EVERY SCHOOL contain loads of information on why students should sell their lives to the military which exists solely for the purpose of killing people. Every member of that organization, and by extension the nation that supports it, is an accomplice to murder. We will not tolerate being forced to aid in the shedding of blood for the benefit of the corporations that make weapons.
• - The F.U.S.D. recently passed a dress code which severely restricts what students can and cannot wear to school. This a blatent violation of our constitutional right to expression implied by the First Amendment and confirmed by the Ninth.
• - The district is in the proccess of shutting down one of the high schools in order to "save money." The schools are already horribl;y overcrowded and this will make things that much worse. The land is going to be sold to developers to build new high density housing. It is already a known fact that many of the school board members have strong ties to the developers.

We find it completely unnacceptable that they are willing to sell our educations, (what little the state offers), for their own personal profits.
