Title:none
I like your ezine, and i do support just about everything you are
saying, however i do have some disagreements with your view of anarchy.
First of all, i feel the foremost aspect of anarchy is the belief in a
better world through a lack of authority. I do agree that peace is a
very important factor because since wars have always been caused by
greed, taking land,people,etc.,etc. amounts to authority, so war and
anarchy can not coexist. There are many anarchists, published and
unpublished, prominent and not so well known, that would adamantly
disagree with the peace thing because they feel that no authority will
willingly give up its power without a fight. I disagree with that
myself, because i feel if one can enlighten that authority then they
would see the fault of their own misconduct and give up authority(even
though it would be extremely difficult, i like to think it could happen)
Second of all, the anti-government part is true to a full extent, as
well as all other authority, it goes to the very creation of the word.
"an"-against "archy"-authority.
And since you stated yourself that there is no one definition of
anarchy, how can you pretend to speak for all anarchists. Although other
anarchists may disagree with you on many parts of anarchy, it does not
invalidate them as anarchists. If you feel they are not anarchists
because they may support violence, or any number of things, by saying
they are not a part of one's movement, this destroys all hope of a real
anarchy. Our dream of anarchy can only begin to become reality with the
unity of mankind. not just the working class,or lower class, or middle
class, but all humankind.
Also on your page on what thought crimes is about, you might want to
add direct action, to ways of creating a better place to live. direct
action means by simply ignoring a certain law and doing it publicly so
that others will see your example and disregard a certain law, therefore
making the law useless, and in turn weakening the authority. Direct
action also means directly confronting(not violently) the organizations,
and people who cause the oppression. Simply doing DIY projects alone,
won't do much other than teach you to make stuff for yourself, unless
oyu educate others to do the same. you must prove to others that DIY is
more valuable, than corporate made shit, or else their not going to go
along with you.
Again i do agree with most of the stuff your saying in Thought Crimes.
This is not a bitch letter, just offering some friendly advice.
No offense to you is intended in this letter, in any part of it.
Anarchy will only be created through unity, enlightenment, and mass
direct action.
