Title:Anarchism In Modern Society
In modern soceity people view anarchy as violence and lawlessness. The dictionary defines anarchy as:
1. Absence of any form of political authority. Also, popular view had identified all anarchism with violence, because of past assassinations committed by anarchists. But as we know, no government can give you freedom.
2. Political disorder and confusion.
3.Absence of any cohering principle, as a common standard of purpose. ( Morris, William, Ed. The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language. Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1979.)
People believe the government can be trusted, but does anyone really understand the political system? People are trusting in something they know nothing about, or for that matter, understand. Perfection of humanity can not be attained until all governments are abolished and everyone is free, completely free.
Anarchism is the theory that all forms of hierarchy interfere unjustly with individual liberty. It is a resistance to all forms of individual power over a group of people. What we anarchists stand for is freedom. We want a world in which we can truly have peace, freedom, and equality. Nothing restrains us from what we deserve. But the sad thing about the people in today's world is that people judge one another by who they are on the outside. There is so much more to a person than what who they appear to be. People judge others in the same way when they hear someone is an anarchist. They automatically associate the person with violence and ignorance. But the truly ignorant person is the one judging things when they dont know the facts.
In today's soceity people regard anarchists as ignorant and foolish people. People say we anarchists do not know what were talking about. They say, " We need a government. We need laws." But we anarchists disagree. We do believe that we have no need for governments and laws. They are both useless, and in some cases counterproductive. They are holding us back from freedom.
People today are very ignorant about anarchism and the set of beliefs that define it. If the people just took the time to read a little about it, they would see it is not about violence and confusion, but about peace and order. It takes a lot for someone to stand up for what they believe in today. The world is a harsh place, but we anarchists know what we want and are standing up for it everyday. We intend to achieve our goals of a free world someday. Although the struggle will be long and harsh, we will prevail!!
