Hana Yori Dango(translated into English as "Flowers rather than Guys"?!) is a shoujo comedy about a girl name Tsukushi Makino from a poor family but goes to a high school full of rich kids. There she met the F4, 4 richest and most influential guys who dominates the school. Despite her social disparity with these poeple, Tsukushi stand up against them and actually fall in love with one(or two of the guys?)
Main Characters
Makino Tsukushi
Tsukushi is from a poor family, yet her parents are money-greedy and annoying
enough to make her go to a rich kids' school so that she can maybe marry to rich
and brings fortune to the family. Tsukushi herself is shy at the beginning and does
not want to be in this high school or incur any troubleto herself. However, when she
is challenged F4's hazing rituals, Tsukushi stands out for herself and fight against
the rich and snobby guys. Eventually, Tsukushi began to like one of the F4 guys, Rui
and also Doumyoji.
Tsukusa Doumyoji
Doumyoji is the leader of the F4. He is awed by all the people in the school because of his
bad temper and his hazing ritual. Doumyoji appears like a jerk at the beginning because he
constantly insults Tsukushi for being poor but he actually likes her and didn't realize it
until Tsukushi start to talking to Rui and later Kazuya, and that gets Doumyoji really anngry and jealous! When he finally dicovered his feeling for Tsukushi, Doumyoji acts really nice
and sweet. Another thing about Doumyoji is that he has natural curly hair and had to starigten it out for teh maximun of 5 hours if he wants to look good to impress Tsukushi.
And Doumyoji does look better in straight hair(a little bit weird still, I think. -_-)
Hanazawa Rui
Rui is the most compassionate and quiet guy in the F4 group. In the beginning, when most students in the school and other F4 guys
shun and haze Tsukushi, Rui is the only one who saves Tsukushi out of trouble and actually talks to her as a friend.
He often plays his violin sadly and alone at school because he miss his girlfriend Shizuka.
When Shizuka left to France to study
for her acting career, Rui finds his feeling of loving Shizuka and went to France to reunite.
Toudou Shizuka
(I know this is not an ideal picture to show shizuka, who is such a beauty, but this is the only one that I can find that pretty much fits)
Shizuka is the only child from a rich family and will inherit her father's corporation.
Shizuka is two years older than Rui, but they along with F4 grew up together. Out of all the F4 guys,
Shizuka likes the quiet Rui the best and the two are very close.
Because Shizuka is beautiful and talented, she went to France and becomes a famous model. Not only she is baeutiful, but Shizuka is also extremely kind,
After she came back, Shizuka puts aside the difference and becomes friend with Tsukushi and try help Tsukushi out of her daily misery. Her kindness makes Tsukushi
admire her despite the fact the Rui loves her.
