The Road to Destiny: Chapter 16
As they continued kissing, Jax pulled Keesha over to his lap, settling her
down so they were facing each other. He reached up with his hand,
stroking her cheek softly before pulling away.
Jax wrapped his arms around Keesha, his fingers trailing lightly up and
down her spine as he buryied his face against her neck comforting his
fears in feel of her racing heart beat. He closed his eyes with a sigh.
She tilted her head, resting her cheek against his hair, using her hands
to rub his arms gently as her own eyes closed. Her body and mind relaxed
completely, the way it only did when she was near Jax.
They stayed like that for a long while, until Jax could feel her heart
beat slow. He shifted slightly, glancing up at Keesha. She was asleep he
noted with a smile. He laid down fully on the couch, settling her on top
of him. He closed his eyes and resumed stroking her back softly.
Keesha yawned as she heard the clock finish striking. She opened her eyes
and saw that it was midnight. Her breath stopped as she felt a feathery
stroke across her back and she glanced above her.
Jax.
She smiled, looking at him as he continued to sleep. She climbed off him
gently, walking over to the fireplace and starting a fire.
She remembered the first time she saw him sleeping, over at Mrs. Sellers
house. She had sat on that couch watching him for hours, literally, until
the delivery came and she went to the door.
He was so beautiful when he slept.
She walked back over, staring at him.
He was so beautiful when he was awake.
She sighed, realizing she should probably wake him up so he could leave.
And he should leave.
Though if he dared to ask her why, she knew she would be unable to come up
with a reason. She wanted him here so much, it was almost as if she
needed him to stay. And that scared her, but yet and still, she felt so
comfortable with Jax there. More so than she ever had with anyone.
But he still needed to leave. "Jax? Jax...you should probably..."
"...go." Jax faintly heard the last word Keesha was whispering.
She was telling him to go, it registered in his sleeping mind. Keesha was
telling him to go. What was he going to do, what would his life be like
without her...how was he going to go now. "Please..." he mumbled in
answer. "Don't make me...don't...leave...."
Keesha furrowed her brow. "Jax?" she called a little louder.
Jax's eyes shot open. He looked around, disoriented.
"It's after midnight. We fell asleep."
Keesha watched as Jax sat up slowly.
"Are you okay?"
Jax looked over at her. "Fine," he nodded.
"Sure?"
"No," he admitted.
"What's wrong?"
He shook his head, running his fingers through his hair. "I don't want to
talk about it now," he stated quietly.
"Okay." Keesha nodded, holding her hand out to Jax. He looked into her
eyes, taking it and standing. "I'll walk you to your car."
"No, that's okay. Thank you for dinner. I had a wonderful time."
"Thanks for coming." Keesha stared into his eyes.
Jax smiled, pulling her towards him and kissing her. He wrapped his arms
around her, as their kiss deepened. He pulled away reluctantly, looking
at her. "I should go," he said in a deep resonate tone that dared to send
a shiver of desire through her body. She took a breath, nodding. "Yes..."
she breathed.
But....why?
Keesha kissed him hungrily, somewhat surprised that the soft moistness of
his mouth actually cleared her mind, instead of clouding it further.
Until finally she said what she knew to be true. She broke off the kiss
stating quietly. "I'd rather you stay."
Jax stared at her, studying her with his eyes.
"If you want to..." she finished, waiting.
Keesha and Jax maintained eye contact as he slowly sat down on the couch.
She closed the remaining space between them, and joined him, sitting on
his lap. She leaned forward until their lips weren't even an inch apart.
Jax reached up, pushing her hair back from her face, his thumbs stroking
her cheeks.
Keesha placed a small peck on his parted lips, slanting her head slightly
before kissing him deeply, her tongue invading his mouth. She tasted him
fully, using her mouth and tongue to tease his mercilessly, kissing him so
passionately, she left him breathless. She pulled away, but only for a
moment, before kissing him again, slowly. He returned her kiss just as
slowly...only for her to return his kisses with unabashed hunger, taking
his breath away once more.
