Chapter 87

"What?" Jax answered his cellular, ready to pull out of the driveway. "Stay there, I'm on my way." Jerry commanded before hanging up. Jax walked over to the door. "So...where's my nephew?" Jax pointed to the play pen, closing the door as Jerry went over, picking Laurence up. "Hello...tell Daddy that I'm fine, can you do that?" "Why don't you tell your Jerky Uncle Jerry to tell me himself." Jax cooed. "Where in the hell have you been?" he snapped. "Ah ah ah...not in front of the child." Jerry placed Laurence back into the play pen. "Where's Keesha?" "Out. Where have you been?" "Well, I went to Kelly's, then I went to Bobbie..." "Did you tell her?" "No...and then..." "Why not?" "Because she doesn't need to know, that's why! What, do you want me to brag to her that I was unplanned and the entire reason my parents got married...then again, had they not gotten married then they would have never experieced the joy of the perfect son..." Jax took a deep breath. "Sorry." Jerry hit Jax on the shoulder. "You realize I love you don't you." Jax was quiet for a moment. "Then why did you visit Miranda." "Who says I was visiting Miranda?" "I say, you were visiting Miranda." "Just felt like it...and yes, Bobbie knows. And no, there's nothing going on. I just wanted to get a read on her, and figured I'd do it myself..." "Jerry...you told her didn't you?" "Yep." "Well I'm just popular...first Jerry, and now you." Keesha sat down across from Miranda. "I didn't have anything to do with your getting caught." "*Why?*" "Why not? What's she going to do to me from in there. And you know what-I am extremely sick of this line of questioning. In fact, I'd rather forget all about being a mishap..." "Our parents love you." "Of course they do...just like you love this little guy..." Jerry picked Laurence up again. "Speaking of little...are you and Keesha still trying to have a baby?" "No." "No?! Why?" "Because she feels one baby is enough right now. She's probably right..." "Which means you think she's wrong, but don't have the guts to say so." "Shouldn't you be at home trying to keep Jax by getting yourself pregnant or something?" Miranda started writing on the pad in front of her. Keesha looked down, and when she looked back up, her eyes were blazing with anger. Miranda was taken aback and had to break the eye contact. "Do not start with me Miranda. Now, tell Lucky to stop tailing me, before..." "Before what?" "You *really* don't want to push me." "If you are innocent, you wouldn't be so worried." "For the second, and final time, I didn't have anything to do with you being caught." "I'm innocent." "Whatever." "There is no *whatever*...and when Jerry helps me and gets me out of here...it will be you and *Jasper* against me and Jerry, and guess who will win." "Jax and I aren't going to fight Jerry." "You'll have to when Jerry finds out that I am innocent and you set me up..." Miranda held up the pad and Keesha read *I am the only person who's ever completely loved Jerry, and now because of his bastard father, he's starting to understand that*. "Tell Jax I said hello." Miranda wrote one last thing. *And tell him to tell Jerry goodbye*. Keesha stood, having to fight the urge to hit Miranda. She took a breath, watching as Miranda placed the slips of paper in her mouth. Without another word, Keesha left. She walked to her car, and realized. If Miranda was set up, perhaps it would be best to find out who...because Jerry was hurt right now, and that left him vulnerable to Miranda and her evil thoughts. And Jax couldn't afford to lose Jerry to her now. "Doesn't that make sense?" "Let me get this straight....you want to possibly free Miranda by finding out if she was set up." Jax stared at Keesha in shock. "Yes." "Why?" "Because...she thinks that if she gets out, Jerry will start to beleive her claim that I'm behind this. And that will lead you two fighting because of us." "You are kidding..." "No, but...if Jerry has been there, and he's told her about his family..." "And he hates me..." "Jerry does *not* hate you." "Maybe, but he surely resents me. I would resent me too..." "Jax..." "Just how are we going to figure this out." Jax changed the subject. "Oh no. You're going to concentrate on Laurence...." she touched his hand as he opened his mouth to protest. "First, I am not in any danger, and if I even get the inkling I am, you will know because I will tell you everything...second, if you get involved Jerry will be suspicious and Miranda will use it against you if we are discovered...third...you need to concentrate on Laurence. I'll get V or Taggert to help me." "Not both." "No...not both." "And not Felicia." "Fine, not Felicia. Though I don't think she would do anything to me..." "She's Miranda's friend. And she's Mac's wife." "She's also very professional...*okay*..." she relented after Jax continued his stare. "Not Felicia." Jax leaned over and Keesha smiled, kissing him tenderly. The kiss grew passionate and he pulled her onto his lap. She wrapped her fingers in his hair, managing to draw him closer. Keesha sighed as Jax tasted her throat, his hands travelling underneath her shirt, wrapping around the bare skin of her waist. Suddenly he pulled away. Jax looked up at Keesha. "What's wrong? Is Deidre due soon?" she glanced at her watch. "Why can't we have a baby?" "I thought we discussed that. Laurence isn't even three months old..." Keesha got off of Jax's lap. "I know that...but...even if you got pregnant today, Laurence would be about a year by the time we had him...or her. Added, Laurence won't be here all the time...we're sharing custody with Deidre..." "You've thought about this a lot." "Yes." "Then why did you agree with me." "Actually what I said was, if you think it's best. I hardly call that a ringing endorsement." he stood from the couch. "Keesha, if there is another reason, than fine. But...what it boils down to, is do you want to have a child with me." "Yes." Keesha whispered without hesitation. "Then I think we should keep trying to have one now..." "You know what..." Keesha walked towards Jax. "I think I have to give your idea my ringing endorsement." she smiled, reaching up and kissing him softly. She laughed as he picked her up, carrying her back over to the couch. Jax tried to contain his excitement as the judge signed the custody agreement between him and Deidre into effect. They shared custody completely now.....she lived only a few blocks away, so he could see Laurence all the time...everything was perfect. Jax signed the contract, handing it to Deidre who also signed it. He glanced over at Keesha who was holding Laurence. She smiled, giving him a wink. Everything was pefect now...what could go wrong... Keesha looked over her shoulder as Jax's smile faded. She watched Lucky Spencer disappear from sight. She looked at Jax once more, shaking her head. He took a deep breath. He had promised to stay out of it. Shani
