Chapters 80 & 81
Jax turned over, turning off the alarm clock. He settled back down in the
bed, gathering a sleeping Keesha to him once more. He *should* get
up...he stroked her hair, watching as it curled gently around his fingers.
Keesha stirred with a sigh. "Morning." she brushed her leg across his.
She tilted her head, looking up into his eyes. "Are you working from home
today?"
"Actually, I should head in."
"Hm. Too bad." Keesha whispered deeply, drawing closer.
His lips parted the instant her mouth touched his. Jax pulled Keesha
further into him, sliding his hand down her back. "I suppose I can be a
little late." he grinned against her lips before deepening their kiss.
Jax traced the outline of her mouth with his tongue and a small shudder
went through her body. He kissed Keesha again, passionately.
Keesha broke off the kiss, nuzzling against his throat, teasing it
lightly. A soft moan escaped his lips. "I love you." Jax breathed.
Keesha looked up at Jax, placing a small kiss upon his closed eyelids. He
opened his eyes. "I love you." he repeated.
Keesha stared into his eyes for a moment before her gaze dropped down to
his lips. She ran her fingers across them and Jax responded by trailing
his tongue down her finger. Instinctively she placed it in his mouth and
he smiled before sucking on the appendage.
Jax kissed her palm softly, and Keesha opened her eyes once more, watching
as he moved his mouth higher, kissing her arm as his hand met hers,
interlacing their fingers. Leading her to rest her hand against his
waist, he let go of her hand, running his fingers down her back as he
tasted the skin of her throat.
With a moan Keesha tilted her head back in pleasure, dinnging her nails
gently into his waist. She reached down, leading his face to hers and
kissed Jax urgently, leaving him breathless.
Keesha kissed Jax again. "I adore you." she breathed into his ear before
taking the lobe between her teeth, pulling gently. She ran her tongue
behind his ear as her fingers trailed down his chest. As light as a
feather her fingers brushed against his stomach and he moaned her name
deeply as he continued to harden beneath the softness of her body. They
kissed and Jax led her down to the ground. "And I adore this."
Jax laughed as Keesha led him to roll over, placing him on top.
"Then again, I adore this as well."
Jax bent forward. "You are so easily pleased." he muttered, his eyes
closing as Keesha reached up, stroking his face lovingly.
"That's because I'm blessed to have you with me. What more could I
possibly need." Keesha whispered before kissing Jax passionately.
Jax cupped her face in his hands, returning her hungry kiss before taking
control, slowing the pace. He stretched out fully on top of Keesha,
gliding his body slowly over hers. "Jax..." Keesha groaned deeply.
Jax prepared himself for an onslaught of ravenous kisses, but instead
Keesha continued kissing him tenderly, each kiss ending with a small suck
on his bottom lip. He shivered slightly, and finally she kissed him
deeply once more. "I love you..." she managed to say as she felt his
hand travelling up her inner thigh. They continued kissing, their tongues
stroking against each other.
Suddenly Keesha pulled back arching against Jax as his finger slowly
inserted into her. He kissed her again as he continued teasing her.
"You're so beautiful..." Jax breathed, resting his hands against her sides
as his mouth moved lower. He trailed butterfly kisses down her body,
leaving no area untouched, pausing to suck and nibble where her moans
directed him.
Keesha leaned forward and he sat up, gathering her into his arms. She
flicked her tongue over his nipple before pulling it gently with her
teeth.
Jax led her face back to his, kissing Keesha as she moved suggestively on
his lap. She tightned her hold around his waist looking down at him, as
he guided her over him. In one quick move she enveloped him entirely,
moaning deeply.
Keesha loosened her grip against his waist, her hands trailing lightly up
his back and resting on his shoulders. She buryied her face in against
his throat, matching his slow deliberate thrusts with her own. She ran
her tongue up the side his neck, pausing with a groan as she contracted
around him. Jax surged into her one last time, kissing her deeply as they
both released.
"Someone's here to see you. I let them into the office." Kylie, Jax's
assistant, whispered softly.
"Why would you do that." he asked as he walked down the hall. He opened
the door. "Deidre." he nodded.
He hadn't seen her since that day she stormed off almost a year ago, when
told her he couldn't see her anymore.
Because he was planning to marry Keesha.
"Who's this?" he smiled.
"This is your son." she answered simply.
Keesha knocked, turning away from the door as she waited. "Yes?"
Keesha looked over. "Is Nikolas here?" she asked Miranda politely.
"He should be soon. Would you like to wait?" Miranda answered, just as
politely.
"Thank you."
Miranda moved out of the way and Keesha walked in.
"Have a seat. Would you like anything?"
"No." Keesha sat down.
Miranda went over to the edge of the table. "Work related I assume?"
"Of course."
After a moment Miranda stood. "I give up. I can't stand you, you can't
stand me, why are we pretending otherwise."
"Well, pretending otherwise keeps me from saying what I really think.
Which, I doubt you would be interested in...although someone really ought
to tell you..."
"Oh, there's nothing you could tell me."
"Right." Keesha stood. "I'll call Nikolas later." she walked over to the
door, opening it.
Jason blinked in shock as he saw her.
"Why are you here?" they both asked in unison.
"She's just leaving. I'll tell Nikolas you came by."
Keesha looked back over at Miranda. "Excuse me." Keesha closed the door,
leaving Jason outside, knocking again. "I'd watch myself if I were you."
Keesha warned Miranda. "Whatever you're planning is only going to cause
more trouble for you."
"Is that so? From who? Jax? I think Jax is rather occupied."
"What does that mean?"
Miranda smiled knowingly. "Tell you what, you come back and ask me
tonight-until then, I'll be nice enough to let him tell you himself."
"What?"
"Jax, this is your son, Laurence."
"What?" Jax repeated again.
"Let me repeat myself. Whatever you're planning, will cause more of a
mess for you. Don't mess with me Miranda." Keesha opened the door and
Jason walked in, closing the door when Keesha left. He glanced over at
Miranda.
"What did she want?"
"Oh nothing." Miranda said dismissively. "Thanks for coming to see me."
"You know, I would watch her if I was you. She can be rather resourceful.
Now, what's this about AJ?" Jason sat down.
"I think we may be able to help each other." Miranda walked over. "But
hold on a moment. I have a call to make, and then we should leave. I
don't want Nikolas involved."
Miranda went to the kitchen, picking up the phone.
"...I need you to watch Keesha."
"I am not watching Keesha. I quit watching Jax two weeks ago, you're
lucky I even told you Deidre went to see him today. But I am surely not
chosing to watch my friend for you now." Felicia reiterated.
"Look, Keesha is just of much as a threat as Jax."
Felicia sighed. She wished she had never done this. She wished she never
found out about Deidre. She wished that she had never told Miranda about
Deidre. She kept having this feeling that she should have kept that to
herself.
"Look, obviously I didn't tell anyone about Jax's possible baby with
Deidre...I don't need this information to hurt anyone, just to protect
myself..."
Jax walked over, looking at the baby.
"He's two months old." Deidre said as she stood behind the stroller. "The
day I came to your house...I had come to tell you that I was pregnant."
Jax stopped staring at Laurence and looked at Deidre. "Then why didn't
you."
"I decided you weren't ready..."
"What?"
"Jax, you were seeing 3 other women. And then next thing I know you got
married to yet another one. I decided to see how long it would last, to
see if you had changed. I was not going to allow my child to be raised
with a man who could barely hold still long enough to take care of
himself. Laurence deserved better."
Jax stared at Deidre, still in shock.
"Are you going to do that *it isn't mine* bit men are so famous for."
Jax went to his desk, pulling out a checkbook.
"*What* are you doing? Are you going to pay me to disappear?..."
"This..." he finished writing, "...will cover...the support you should
have had thus far. I will need a blood test, but, if Laurence is mine, I
of course, will take full responisbility."
Deidre reached out, taking the check. "You surprise me."
"Really?"
She shrugged. "Yes. Do you want to keep him for the day?"
Jax nodded. "That would be nice."
Laurence smiled up at Jax, kicking his feet.
"I'll make the doctor's appointment and tell you today when it is."
Deidre nodded her agreement, leaving the office.
Jax took a deep breath, looking down into Laurence's blue eyes. Slowly he
reached out, picking him up. "Hey there..." he whispered.
"What was Deidre doing here...Jax?"
Jax looked over at Jerry, standing in the doorway.
"Jax?...oh Jax...."
Jax sighed, holding Laurence tightly. "I'm having a test done."
Jerry closed the door. "And if he's yours?"
"Then I have a son. Jerry...meet Laurence. Here...hold him. I have to
call Keesha..."
"Are you crazy?"
"What?"
"What if he's not yours?"
"Then he's not mine."
"So you're going to tell her, and he might not even be yours. Do you know
the damage this is going to do."
"He is a child...not a *this*. Keesha and I promised we weren't going to
keep things from each other anymore."
"So if he's yours what are you going to do."
"Raise him."
"With Deidre or Keesha?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"Do I know your wife better than you?" Jerry stated exasperated. "If
Keesha even *thinks* you have child, she's going to leave. And I know
that's not what you want."
"Keesha is not going to leave me."
"Remember Michael-Carly and AJ's son. Bobbie told me once that Jason gave
Michael up, just gave him up, wanting him to be rasied my AJ and Carly,
thinking that would be best for Michael. Though he loved Michael and
obviously loved Carly. Now if *Jason* can think like that, can you
imagine what Keesha's immediate thought will be?"
Jax sighed.
"Exactly. Family comes first. If...he...is yours, Keesha will tell you
*Jax, I love you...*"
" *But you have a child.*." Jax finished. "You're right."
"Of course I'm right."
"But then I would say, that I do not want to raise my child in a household
where his parents are not in love. And there is no way I can love Deidre,
I cannot love anyone else but Keesha. And she won't go anywhere. I trust
that."
Jerry rolled his eyes. "So then she winds up resenting you and Deidre and
this little boy."
"Like you resent Tony and Bobbie for Lucas?"
"Difference. I knew about Tony going in."
"Are you done with your advice I'm not taking...your advice to me and
Keesha lately has caused nothing but problems...not that we don't love
that you care, because we do...here." Jax handed Laurence to Jerry,
picking up the phone to call Keesha.
"...it's not lying if you don't know, Jax."
Jax sighed again, looking at Jerry. "You'll know for sure in a few days,
just hold off until then. Then tell her I guess. But why tell her if you
don't even know?"
Jax glanced at Laurence as he thought.
He reached over and Jerry handed him back.
Jax walked into the house, sneaking quietly into the kitchen. He tiptoed
behind Keesha, wrapping his arms around her. "Hi." he mumbled, kissing
her neck.
"You smell like baby powder." Keesha laughed.
Jax pulled back and Keesha turned to look at him.
"Don't get me wrong, it's actually rather...intriguing." she stated as she
stared into his eyes.
Jerry was wrong, he had to tell her now.
"Keesha..." Jax began, groaning as he was interrupted by the house phone.
"Jacks residence." he answered. "Yes...it's Nikolas for you."
Keesha went over and Jax watched as she talked. "...you *must* be
kidding...now?...alright...alright I am on my way." she hung up. "Some of
the film was destroyed, they need me down at the studio."
"Now?"
"Yes." she kissed him quickly. "Unless you can give me a reason to
delay." she winked.
"Go on." he smiled. He would tell her when she got home. No way he would
spring Laurence and Deidre on her now, she would insist on going to the
shoot, because she had made a committment. And he couldn't tell her
something like this in passing. It could wait a few more hours.
"Jerry." Miranda smiled as she opened the door.
"Straight answer. Is this part of your scheme?"
"What?"
Jerry stared at her.
"You know about Deidre." Miranda realized.
"How do *you* know about Deidre."
"I was watching Jax, to take care of myself. Deidre came from nowhere.
But I didn't make her up, and I didn't pay her or anything, and I didn't
even tell her to come. Never even contacted her. But no one knows but
me..."
"Keep this to yourself Miranda. Stay out of Jax's life."
"I will." she promised Jerry. "I won't tell anyone." she continued
getting lost in his eyes.
"You'd better be telling me the truth Miranda."
"I am."
"You did an excellent job." Nikolas smiled.
"Thank you."
"And you seem well."
"I am...why wouldn't I be?"
"All I can say is Jax has a very understanding wife."
"Okay." Keesha laughed.
"I mean, when Luke found out about me, it started the end of his marriage
to Laura...and here you are, working away even though some woman has just
come into town with Jax's baby. I told Miranda when she told me about
her, that your marriage was stronger than she was giving it credit for.
Walk you to the car?"
"No thanks." Keesha stated, managing to keep her voice calm.
Nikolas smiled at her and she watched him leave.
Jax has a baby?
The smell of the baby powder on him began invading her senses as she ran
her fingers through her hair.
"...I need you to watch Keesha."
"I am not watching Keesha. I quit watching Jax two weeks ago, and I am
surely not chosing to watch my friend for you now." Felicia reiterated.
"Look, Keesha is just of much as a threat as Jax."
Felicia sighed. She wished she had never done this. She wished she never
found out about Deidre. She wished that she had never told Miranda about
Deidre. She kept having this feeling that she should have kept that to
herself.
"Look, obviously I didn't tell anyone about Jax's possible baby with
Deidre...I don't need this information to hurt anyone, just to protect
myself..."
Nikolas listened to the conversation one last time before erasing it.
After Miranda's last conversation with Felicia, he finally knew who Deidre
was. All of the peices fit.
Felicia had declined once more to help and the conversation ended.
Nikolas swivelled in Deception office chair. Miranda was stupid enough to
think she could have these conversations in his house...as if he was naive
to what she was doing there.
She was there, waiting for Jerry to decide to be with her, it had nothing
to do with him.
Which is why he felt no guilt pretending to love her-she was guilty of the
same.
Miranda and Helena had schemed to hurt him and his father. He couldn't
get Helena, but he could get Miranda.
Nikolas played with the canister of supposedly destroyed film before
placing it in his drawer.
Miranda told Keesha she would give Jax until tonight to tell her first,
before Jax had a chance to. Then she sat there promising Jerry no one
else knew and she'd keep it to herself. Which she probably would have
since she promised Jerry.
Too bad she didn't know Nikolas bugged his entire cottage.
He knew he'd get a way to her sooner or later.
Of course Jax hadn't told Keesha. No one would be able to function like
Keesha had tonight if they just found out about their love's other child.
So now Keesha knew before Jax had a chance to say anything, and everyone
would blame Miranda.
Who would beleive Miranda over him?
He picked up the phone, dialing.
"Jacks residence."
"Jax, Nikolas. Is Keesha there?"
"No."
"Oh...I guess she's on her way. I figured she would leave right after me.
When Keesha comes in, can you have her call me at the office."
"Sure thing." Jax hung up, looking at the clock as it continued to tick.
Jax had a baby and hadn't even bothered to tell her? After they had
promised to be entirely truthful from now on.
Jax was a father, and she found out from *Nikolas*?!
Keesha turned up the stereo as she accelerated down the road.
