Chapter 66

"Maybe she just ran off, like she always does when things get tough. I feel sorry for Jax." AJ shrugged. Mac glared at him. "Have you or have you not heard from Keesha?" "Nope. Anything else? Great." AJ left and Edward and Ned looked at each other. "You have a visitor." "Keesha?" Jax begged the guard quietly. "No." he opened the cell and led Jax down to the visitation area. "Hey little brother." Jax looked up. He picked up the phone. "Jerry!" "Bobbie snuck me out. She said you looked like crap, and she's right you know." Jerry tried to joke. Whoever was doing this to Jax. Was going to die. "Trial starts tomorrow. I would be there if I could. Are you ready?" Jax shrugged. "Everyone is looking for her Jax. Dad, the PCPD...they'll find her. But you have to take care of this, so that she has something to be happy about when they bring her back." Jerry coughed. "How do you feel?" Jax asked softly. "Okay. I almost thought I was going to have a heart attack, Bobbie said she saw me grab my chest..." "That's because you're overly dramatic." Jax laughed. After a second his laughter stopped, and he shook his head. "Jax..." Jerry watched as Jax placed his head on the desk. Jerry touched the glass seperating them, wanting to touch his baby brother's hair, wanting to be able to comfort him. "I am fine, we are going to find her. And then we are going to clear you. I swear to you, Jax. Have I ever lied to you before." Jax looked up, laughing again. "No comment. I love you, Jer." he finished quietly. "Me too." Jerry cleared his throat. "Jax, we need help on this. So I need for you to tell me, what was Keesha hiding from you?" "Why?" "Because if I know what her secret was, then maybe I can guide help to the right person to find her." Jax leaned back in his chair. "AJ. It has to do with AJ." Jerry nodded. "Then I know just where to go." "He did *what*?" "Played you for a fool." Jerry said into the phone. "He had us beleiving you were the one who knew about Ward's will, that you had stolen it from Alexis. I bet that caused quite a mess in your romantic plans when she thought that you had been going through her files..." Jerry coughed and looked around his hospital room. How much longer... "..hello." Jerry listened to the dial tone. "Goodbye." Jerry hung up. Ned walked upstairs, opening the door to AJ's empty bedroom. "Allright Junior. Let's see what I can find." "If it's not my wife tell whoever it is to go AWAY!" Jax yelled, turning back to the wall. "Jax..." Jax shook his head. "That includes you, Counselor." "Jax, please." Jax turned around. He looked down at Alexis' hand reaching through the bar of his cell. "I used Jerry's key and brought this for you." Jax's eyes watered at the sight of Keesha's sweater. "I thought it might be able to get you to remember what is important. So that you will concentrate. We have to prepare for tomorrow's trial, Jax." He reached out slowly, taking the soft material. He took a breath, running his fingers across it. "Justus hated you you know." Jax looked up. "But he would have been very happy to welcome you into the family, if he could see how much you love Keesha. How much you need her. But he would have made you promise something." "What?" "That you wouldn't leave her alone. He always would talk about how alone she was, I think that was one of the reasons for that marriage clause. He figured it would get out to someone, even if it didn't to her, and then maybe she would find someone...and get married, and not be alone anymore." Jax sighed. "Now, we have got to get through this trial, so that you will be found innocent Jax. So you won't leave her alone. Okay?" Jax looked down. "I should be with her." "And you will be. But we have to get you out of here first. So can I come in now?" Jax looked up. He nodded to the guard and he opened the cell. Alexis walked inside. "Okay. I need you to take a look at the witness list, and see if anything comes up that may be helpful..." "Isn't that a shame." One of Moreno's men shook his head and laughed. "Someone tried to kill Tags a few days ago." "Yes, it's a shame that he didn't succeed. Coma though." he shut off the radio. "Guess someone wants to make sure your man doesn't have any sort of help. Jerry...Taggert...." he looked over at Keesha with a wink and she had to fight the urge to vomit. "You know, it's such a shame Boss doesn't know what to do with you yet." the man came over, touching the edge of her curls. He bent down and Keesha leaned away from him. "There are so many things I want to do to you. But I have my orders. If you die though, expect to at least have a taste of heaven before you go..." Keesha spit in his face and the other man laughed. "I don't think she likes you." "Shut up!" he wiped his face and then slapped Keesha across hers. "Maybe I ought to just take a chance and show you who's boss right now." He bent down. "No one is coming for you, not your husband, not Jerry, not anyone. You had best remember that. I can do whatever I want." he forced a kiss on her. "Stop!" The man pulled away from Keesha and looked at his partner. Moreno had said not to touch her, because he didn't know how he wanted her sent back to Jax yet. In a body bag, in a mental institution.... Keesha closed her eyes as the man touched her hair once more. Or maybe safe and sound as a bartering tool. He pulled away and walked outside to do a routine check of the area. "Hola." the man opened the door. "I want to speak with your son." "Yes." a yong man got up from the sofa. He spoke to his father in Spanish and waited until he left the room. "You look familiar." "My son has been in your former establishment in Port Charles." "Sorry, I never had an establishment in Port Charles." "I know otherwise." "Who*are* you?" "Cassadine. Stefan Cassadine." Shani
