Chapter 60

"Jax!" Jax looked up from his papers at the sound of his name. "Hello Lucy." he stood, reaching over and giving her a hug. "Kevin." "Long time no see." "That's because you never come to the Grill." Jax waited until Lucy sat down before taking his seat again. "Luke's has better food. You should come....never mind." Keesha was held hostage there, Lucy remembered. Jax didn't answer, he just gave Lucy a wary smile. "Lucy, I think Jax is busy we should leave him alone..." Kevin urged. One thing Lucy was good at was putting her foot in her mouth. "Of course." Lucy stood once more. She looked at Jax quizically. "What?" "Something is bothering you...don't worry, it's not noticable...I just have a knack for these things....but something is really bothering you..." she sat down. "You're having visions-aren't you?" "Lucy..." "Visions." Jax said flatly. "You know the worst thing you can do is ignore your subconcious when it's trying to tell you something." "I'm not having visions." he shook his head definantly and looked back down at his contract. "Yes you are...you know generally men aren't so open to them...but..." "LUCY!" "Oh, right." she stood as she answered Kevin. "Sorry. I guess you think I'm a flake, huh." Jax glanced up. "No. But I'm not having visions. Nightmares, but not visions." "La Zona Fabuloso." Jerry repeated the name as he wrote it down. "Thanks Keesha. Was V wondering why?" "I just told her that I had a taste for it, and I was going to have it flown in one day. She teased me about becoming spoiled, but that was all. Oh, and I went ahead and checked around, there's one in Berkeley, California. I called them and they said they did have a branch here in Port Charles. So maybe you could see what they know in Berkeley?" "I can see why my brother adores you. You have a very quick mind." Keesha laughed quietly. "Thank you. You're going to keep me fully informed aren't you?" "Yes." "And you will tell Jax if necessary...and that means before...if..." "I will tell him before he's even officially named in the PCPD files as a suspect. And I won't tell him you knew." "No, I'll tell him that myself. I have to go." she hung up the phone and walked upstairs to the bedroom. Keesha got ready for bed quietly, trying her best not to wake Jax up. She went over to her side of the bed when she finished, but stopped herself from climbing in. Instead she took her book from the side of the bed and went over to her vanity. Turning the small lamp on low, she sat down and began to read. Keesha stirred out of her slumber as she heard Jax mumbling. She sat up in the chair and placed her book down, forcing herself to stay watching. Once again...just like that first and only night she had seen it...murmers about Miranda...followed by Brenda...and then her. She stood, going over to the side of the bed, shaking Jax gently. Jax opened his eyes with a start. "What?" he breathed heavily. "You are going to tell me about this dream right now." "Dream?" "It's the same one you had last month, and it's probably the same one that is interrupting your sleep lately." she stared at him, concerned. "So please tell me about it now." Jax sat up in the bed. "I can't..." he closed his eyes with a whisper. "I am worried sick about you Jax. You're completely exhausted, you can't sleep...I need for you to tell me what's going on in your mind." Jax took another breath. "Death." "Death...I don't..." "First Miranda, then Brenda...so what about you? What if I can't save you?" he said softly as he looked down to his lap. "What if I can't save you?" "Jax, you don't have anything to save me from." Keesha sat on the edge of the bed. She leaned over, her forehead resting against his. "Jax...you have to let your guilt go. It's tearing you up inside. Miranda's accident...and Brenda's...Brenda's death, wasn't your fault." "This isn't about guilt...not fully...I told you...I told you that I don't think I can handle losing you..." "You won't..." "But what if I can't save you?" he repeated. "Jax, save me from what?" "I don't know." he pulled away. "And that's what terrifies me the most." Keesha reached up, craddeling Jax's face in her hands. She kissed him softly on top of his head. "I'm not going anywhere. I refuse to go anywhere." she promised. Jax closed his eyes. "And you know how stubborn I can be." Jax smiled, and then laughed. He looked up into her eyes. "Will you talk to someone?" Jax groaned. Keesha interrupted. "For yourself, or for me, or for Jerry, or your parents, I don't care. But will you have a little faith in therapy..." she grinned slightly. "And talk to someone. At least give it a try? You've gone through too much to try and deal with this alone." Jax sighed. "Please." "A wise person once told me *I'd do anything for you*." he agreed, using her words. Shani
