Chapter 55

Mac stared across the table at Alex Garcia. "I am trusting you." "Yes, sir." "Taggert is not to know about this, under any circumstances." "Yes, sir." Garcia nodded, though he wondered why this was being done anyway. Who cared if Sonny died of a gunshot wound...he was dead. That was the main point. Suicide, murder...whatever... "Hannah Corinthos didn't derserve to die." Mac answered Alex's unasked question. "True, sir. You can trust me. Start with the regular suspects?" "Yes, but be careful. Moreno, Jason, Jax and Jerry...they are all very slippery..and they will all be on alert at the slightest inkling of an investigation." Alex got up and started to the door. "Start with Jax." "Why?" "Gut instinct." Juan Santiago came up with Bobbie's and Carly's check. "Thanks." Bobbie grinned and looked inot her purse. "Well..." "Carly-enough!" "I'm telling you anyone that sweet has to have some serious skeletons in her closet. Major ones. No one can be so..." "Carly!" "Fine." Carly finished her water. "Excuse me for being curious." Juan left Kelly's and walked over to the payphone in the corner. "Excuse me..." the patron outside called. "Break." Juan mumbled as he waited. At exactly 12:02 PM it rang, just like he was told it would. "Yeah...yeah I heard...no, it didn't seem like Bobbie beleived her...what do I care for anyway?...yeah, you're right Mr. Jacks what do I have to lose...and then you'll help me find my father, right?...so...yes, I'll go to Pittsburgh this weekend...because I have to think of something to tell Emily...what about my father....right...trading information...I know...don't say anything to Jax or Jerry...Bye." Benjamin hung up the phone and looked over at Peter. "The dumb kid is going to go searching into Keesha's background. I can't beleive he thought I was John Jacks..." he laughed. "Can't tell age over the phone." "So, what does Helena want with the Jackses now?" "Nothing. This isn't about Helena. I learned from the best, always have more than one provider." Peter laughed and took another swig of beer. Keesha grabbed the cover from the sofa and draped it over Jax's body. She rested against the front of the couch, on the floor, as Jax leaned back into her body, sighing deeply as he napped. Keesha wrapped her arms tighter around his waist, resting her chin on the top of his head as she stared into the fireplace. As much as she enjoyed having V around, she thought with a smile, it was nice to have their house to themselves once more. "Miranda..." Keesha looked down at Jax as he mumbled. Jax shifted, turning his head slowly back and forth. "Jax..." Keesha said softly, stroking his stomach, not wanting to jolt him. "YA!" Jax yelled bouncing slightly up and down on the horse as she ran full gallop. He had to get there...he had to get there fast.... A loud boom startled the horse and she whinied, standing on her hind legs. Jax was able to stay on, quickly calming her to a stop. He jumped off the horse and ran...only to be stopped by Mac. "You can't go there!" "Miranda!!!!" Jax yelled over Mac's shoulder. "Miranda?" Mac looked over at the caved in mine. "Oh my...." Mac let Jax go and both men ran, trying to get to Miranda....all of a sudden Jax heard the helicopters above... "BRENDA!!!!" Jax called as he watched Brenda's car dive off the cliff. "Go lower Jerry...LOWER, or I swear I'll jump right now...." Jax looked over at Jerry...vaguely hearing words about waiting...not being foolish...he unbuckled his seat belt and dove right into the rough waters of the ocean...when he came up for air he found himself in the backyard pool.... Jax pushed his hair back from his face. "Babe...." he looked around. "Keesha?" He could have sworn she was just here a moment ago...."Keesha?" Jax felt his panic rising as he hopped out of the pool. "Keesha's gone." Jax whirled around, trying to grab for the voice...but finding no one there. "Where is she?!" "Who knows. But loves of yours go sooner or later. The only question is...how will she go? You know that...sooner or later...you won't be fast enough to save her you know...you never are...." "No...." he began. His heart stopped as he heard a blood curtling scream coming from nowhere. And everywhere. "JAX!!!" Keesha screamed again. "KEESHA!!!" "Jax!" Keesha called him for the 3rd time. Jax jumped, opmening his eyes as he inhaled sharply. "Jax..." Jax's breaths came sharp and fast. "Keesha..." he whispered. "Yes, baby..." Jax turned around. "You're okay..." he breathed as he stared into her eyes. "Of course I'm okay." she reached up and touched his face. "You just had a nightmare. That's all. Do you remember it?" Jax shook his head as he turned around. He didn't want to talk about it. All he wanted to do was forget. He leaned back into her body once more, lacing his fingers into hers, hoping she couldn't hear the sound of his heart as it raced. "Are you almost ready?" Jax called as he held Alexis' and Ned's wedding gift in his hand. This was the first wedding he had attended lately, that he really wanted to be at. The best thing Jax could say about Ned, was that in Alexis, he had found the perfect match. They belonged together. And it was nice to see, even Ned, find true love. Again. He thought with a smile. "Almost!" Upstairs, Keesha sighed as she clasped her pearls. A wedding at the Quartermaine mansion. Marriages, Q's, family...a combination she wished she never had to deal with again. Shani
