Jax stood up slowly as Jerry watched. Seeing no further reaction Jerry
turned to Miranda. "Why don't you go upstairs."
Jax touched his lip again, suddenly chuckling deeply. "You idiot..."
Jerry faced him once more. "Get...."
Miranda jumped up with a gasp as Jax lunged into Jerry knocking him
across the table and onto the floor.
"STOP IT!" she yelled just as Jerry regained control, pinning Jax under
him. "Jax STOP--leave Jerry alone!"
"Isn't this what you want?"
Jerry froze, his fist in the air, looking over at Miranda.
"What?" she whispered.
"Us fighting. It's what you want isn't it?" Jax yanked Jerry's hand
away from his collar and pushed him off. "Are you happy now?" he asked
bitterly.
Miranda froze.
For just a second.
"Of course not..." she began emphatically.
But a second was all Jerry needed. On the phone, Jax had said...just
give me a chance to prove it...Miranda wanted them apart, and all they
needed to do was tussle around for a little and it would all come out.
Jerry took a deep breath and continued to watch.
"I don't care if Jerry hates me for the rest for the rest of his
life...I will never let him be when it comes to you because you are a
liability my brother cannot afford..." Jax stood walking over to the
corner where Miranda began to cower. "You came here knowing damn well
how much I hate you. If this was all about Jerry-why not send for him
to visit you--it would have been a lot simpler--I wouldn't have even
known about it probably..."
"I didn't..." Miranda looked at Jerry.
"You continually push my buttons...Hannah may have set you up at
Luke's, but you knew Keesha would be there--you knew that Hannah would
be there. Because Jason *told* you that Sonny didn't contact you..."
"I didn't..."
"So you used that--you took one of the two most important people in my
life and put her through hell..." Jax's eyes began to water his anger
grew. "and then you played on the other one I care about most in the
world--you played on Jerry's sympathy by being a poor victim
yourself...."
"I..."
"Did you or did you *not* know Benjamin."
"No...I mean yes..." Miranda stuttered.
"You can't even keep your lies straight anymore." Jerry interrupted.
"Remember, I know about Benjamin--and I forgave you for it. You ought
to keep better records." he shook his head. "I asked you all the way
up to the end to be honest with me...I asked you even when Jax was
here." he whispered.
Jax walked over to Jerry and put his hand on his back. They continued
glaring at Miranda. "You knew that Peter was Benjamin's brother...you
never told Jerry of that. You never told Jerry that Peter is Helena's
new toy....let's get to Sonny...why'd you go to Sonny...things not
moving fast enough for you? You think that by getting Sonny to play on
Keesha's and V's good nature, that that would cause me to cease my
plan. Which would mean, of course, that I would either, one involve
Jerry in my new one...and then you could remind him of how little
respect...I have...only *you* really love Jerry right?"
"I do...Jerry, I do love you..."
"Or was it to see how long it would be before I lost Bobbie again?
Then would you be there to pick up the peices of my broken heart?"
"Absolutely..." Jax began.
"Pathetic." Jerry finished.
"You don't understand...Jerry....Jerry..."
Jax fought the urge to physically stand between his brother and
Miranda.
Jerry glanced back up from the floor.
"I love you, I swear, I do..." Miranda took a deep breath. "And
Jax...Jax...Jax causes you nothing but trouble...don't you see that?
Your whole family...they use you, they've always used you. I just
wanted you away."
"For purely unselfish reasons." Jerry said coldly...how could he be so
stupid?
"I love you."
"Then leave me alone." he finished quietly.
"I..."
"Didn't you hear him?"
Miranda shook her head. "Helena will kill me...Jerry...I swear, Helena
will kill me. I failed...I...Jerry...I need you...please Jerry."
"I said, leave me alone."
Miranda swallowed slowly. She had lost him now.
He didn't even care if she lived or died.
Quietly she went to the door, leaving.
Miranda wiped the tears from her eyes, and put the key in the door of
her car. "Carly." she said all of a sudden as a thought entered her
mind. Maybe if she had more time, she could get back into Jerry's good
graces. All she needed to do was bide some time.
"So...where's the I told you so?"
"Nah, that would be too easy" he joked, trying to ease the tension.
"....are you okay?" Jax asked seriously.
"You know, when you told me to hit you...I thought you had lost your
mind..." Jerry laughed.
"Yeah, no one told you to hit me so hard." Jax touched his swelling
lip. "Keesha will have your head."
"No, she will have yours."
Jax laughed. "True. So, do you think Miranda's back to wherever she
came?"
"Back to Helena? I doubt it. What do you think she wanted us apart
for?"
"Divide and conquer tactic. Obviously having to do something with
Helena..."
Jerry snapped his fingers. "The distraction..."
"What?" Jax sat down on the couch.
"Miranda had said Lucky was *killed* as a distraction for Luke, Stefan
and Laura. Then he was sent back for the same reason. Miranda used
Sonny, just like she used all of us...and who's Sonny's best friend?"
"Luke." Jax nodded as he sat up, taking notice.
"Now, if you and me are on the outs...then who will you ally yourself
with...Luke's enemy..."
"Stefan." Jax shook his head. He had to hand it to them.
"Bingo. Sonny and Luke versus you and Stefan...meanwhile Helena
regains control from Nikolas...with me being the dark knight to whisk
Miranda away from the battle..." Jerry stopped speaking as Jax's phone
rang.
"Hello?"
"Jax...can you talk?"
"To you?" Jerry smiled as Jax's grin grew. Obviously it was Keesha.
"I always can talk to you."
"Carly just called me...swearing up a storm. Miranda told her it was
definitely Jerry that started the fire, implicating Jason."
"What?" Jerry asked as Jax's eyes grew cold.
"So much for love." Jax mumbled. "Okay...I need for you, to go and
visit Nikolas for me-can you do that?"
"Sure."
"Go to Nikolas, tell him about Miranda and Helena...all of it. Make
sure he's on guard. I'll send Jerry to Stefan."
Keesha nodded. "Okay. And what about you."
Jax cursed under his breath. It was like trading one evil for another.
"I'm going to get Jason out of jail on bail."
"What?!" Keesha and Jerry both yelled.
"He is the least dangerous of the 2 remanining mobsters. We cannot
afford to let Miranda's hatred fuel Carly's. Together they would be
absolutely lethal. Now if Jason gets out...Carly is happy...Jason gets
to have custody of Michael while he awaits trial which you made sure of
by getting Carly's custody retained from AJ." Jax opened his eyes and
looked at Jerry. "Jason is happy and he owes us both. Jason will also
have his trial pending, that means that he will be occupied trying to
beat the rap...which hopefully won't happen. Besides, Stefan will owe
us in a moment."
"I don't like this." Jerry mumbled.
"Neither do I. But I trust Stefan...at least this far. If we make him
aware of Helena's plans-he'll take care of her, Helena will take care
of Miranda or Miranda will run and hide somewhere either one. And in
return, we have Stefan to help against Jason if need be."
"Okay." Jerry nodded.
"Keesha?"
"What?" she muttered.
"I will only do this if it's okay with you as well."
Next day.
Miranda opened the door to her apartment. "Carly right on...oh my God."
Carly grabbed her purse and started out the door. "Oh my God...." she
hugged Jason tightly. "You're home..." she said before kissing him
passionately.
Alexis smirked as Helena actually screamed. "As I said, this document
orders you away from Nikolas. If you or any of your cronies come within
300 feet of him...you will be arrested...then you will be deported."
"You're letting Stefan control what you do." Helena regained composure
and glared at Alexis. "Dear Natasha."
"Actually, I did this of my own volition. It's my wedding present to
myself. You lose." she smiled. "Have a nice day."
"You should have come to me Ms. Jamison. My mother cannot protect you
from me now." Stefan walked in. "Nor will she want to."
"Miranda just left with Stefan." V reported to Jax as she listened in
on the phone to what Felicia was telling her. "Do you think we'll see
her again?"
"Who knows." Jax looked up as Keesha came down the stairs. "Ready?"
"Yes..." she smiled.
"Ready?"
V hung up. "Yes." she grinned and stood.
"So let's go eat." Jax jumped up from the table.

Jason listened as his attorney continued to tell him to take the plea
bargain. "I'm not going back to jail."
"Listen to me, the only way you won't go to jail is by some miracle."
"Happens all the time."
"Look at that rock..." Carly mumbled as Keesha stood at the counter of
Kelly's waiting for her lunch. "How much do you think Jax spent on
that thing?"
Bobbie shook her head. "Money is always somewhere forefront on you
rmind." she reached across the table and took the pepper.
"Yeah, well, maybe if I was as lucky as Keesha I wouldn't worry about
it."
"What...you want to marry Jax now?"
"Bite your tongue. No. I mean, have you noticed...she has no
family...but all of her family's money. Sonny left her his ELQ
allocation in his will..."
Bobbie froze. "What?"
"Uh huh...that doubles her shares. If I were you, I'd tell Jerry to
watch his little brother's back..."
"Don't be disgusting..."
"Okay..but Jax is worth some serious money. Even the best people get
greedy sometimes. Besides, what do you know about Keesha...I mean
really?"
"Carly.." Bobbie sighed.
"Gone from PC, 2 years...what did she do during that time...you don't
know...okay....I get it..." Carly took a bite of her sandwhich and
watched as Keesha left the restaurant.
