Chapter 44

Jax sat in the police station, waiting for Mac. He watched as Mac came in, heading over to Alex Garcia's desk. "Where's your partner?" "Lunch." "Hmm. Tell him that Corinthos wants to see him." Simultanously Jax and Alex furrowed their brows. "Sonny wants to see Marc?" "Yes." Mac finished, walking over to Jax. "Do you want to talk in my office?" "You don't want to do that." Jax tried to supress a grin. Keesha smiled wickedly, moving her thumb slightly from the hole covering the water hose. Jax backed up on the front lawn. "Keesha...do not...." Jax covered himself as best he could as she let the water fly, soaking him while she laughed. "Oh, you are so dead...." Keesha threw the hose down and bolted into the house, Jax at her heels. He shut the door, dripping wet, staring at her standing behind the sofa. "What did you do that for?" "Because you told me I didn't want to...I hate it when people tell me what I want to do." she joked. "You realize you have to pay..." Jax moved closer to the couch. "You know, you never told me what Mac had to say." Keesha glanced at the stairs, wondering if she could make it all the way up. "Nothing much. That things were going ahead smoothly...same thing Dara had said. But I found out Sonny asked for Taggert. I wonder what that was about..." All of a sudden, Jax flew over the couch, grabbing Keesha quickly. "God...you're cold..." she tried to move away. "Don't..." she laughed as he tickled her waist. She ducked, managing to free herself and ran up the stairs. Jax smiled, giving her a few seconds start before running up after her. Jax finished hugging Jerry and let go, slapping his arm. "How are you?" "I'm fine. And how's your wife?" "Better." Jax smiled. "What about..." "The mobsters? That's why I'm here." "Lay it on me." "Who would you say is the least dangerous of the three?" "Between Satan, Satan, and Satan?" Jerry chuckled, sitting down across from Jax at the Outback. "I'm serious Jer." Jax looked up as Carly walked in. Rolling her eyes at the brothers, she walked over to the table at the corner. "That's one part of my loving Bobbie I don't miss-daughter dearest." Jerry turned his attention back to Jax. "Jason...but really, it's still a case of..." "Satan, Satan, and Satan." Jax nodded. "I can't trust Jason." "You sure as hell can't. Even Sonny couldn't. So you need to think of another plan." "I didn't even tell you what the plan was..." "Don't have to. If it involves trusting any of the three, then it's out...what." Jerry answered his phone. Jax smiled and looked down at his plate, waiting. "...yep....that's fine by me...my place, no one would look for you there." Jerry hung up. "Who was that?" "A pawn in my plan to get Bobbie back." Jax nodded. "Good luck." Great. At least that meant he had no plans with Miranda. He watched as Jerry got up and waked out. Jax took another bite of his steak, swallowing slowly as he saw Carly get up from the table, jogging out. Carly watched as half a block down, AJ closed the door to Jerry's home. She slid down in her car seat, waiting for him to get in his car and pull off. Slowly she leaned back up. What was... "Damn it!" Carly placed her hand on her chest as she jumped. She rolled down the window. "What?!" "Why are you spying on my brother?" Carly cut her eyes at Jax. "Why is your brother meeting with my ex?" "Which one? There are so many...." "This has been really entertaining, but I have more important things to do, like watching paint dry." she gave Jax a sarcastic smile, rolling up her window. Jax watched as she pulled away, and then headed down the street to Jerry's place. He knocked and waited. "Well obviously my night is ruined." Jax sighed and turned around, staring as Miranda came up the stairs. "Why are you here." "To visit Jerry." Jerry opened the door. "Well. I'm popular." "Too popular. I need to talk to you." Miranda shrugged at Jax's comment to Jerry. "I'll wait inside?" Jerry moved out of the way, and Miranda went into his place. Jerry closed the door. "What's going on?" "I could ask you that." "Just friends. " Jerry smiled. "I mean with AJ." "AJ?" "AJ." Jax repeated. "And Carly noticed by the way." he stated, waiting for a reaction. "Did you hear me?" "Yes. But I figured she would sooner or later. Besides, it fits into my plan." "To get Bobbie back?" "Right." "Does Miranda...never mind. Crossing Carly while she's already riled about Jason..." "I'm not crossing Carly. I'm crossing Jason. Why should you get to have all the fun. Now, don't you have a wife to get home to? One of us should have a love life you know." "I have a bad feeling about this." "Desperate times." Jerry smirked. "I'll see you later." Jax nodded, watching as Jerry went back into the house. He couldn't place his finger on it, but for some reason, he felt that whatever Jerry was doing would make things worse in the long run. Shani
