Chapter 11

Keesha continued to watch the clock. 7:00 am. At least it should be light out. She got absolutely no sleep at all. She sat up in the bed and eased over to the window, so as not to wake Jax. She peaked through the shades. The sun was shining-she was dreading getting back to the cold of Port Charles. "Is the sun up?" Keesha let go of the blinds. "Sorry. Did I wake you?" "No, I've been up..." all night "for awhile. Sleep well." "Not really. You?" "Same." "You can have the bed tonight, I'll take the couch." "I don't think so." Jax got off the sofa and stretched. "Jax..." "Oh look, our message light is flashing." he smiled. "Stop changing the subject." Keesha watched as Jax walked over to the phone to retreive the messages. He listened. "Jerry says *hello*..." he pressed the button for the next message. "...the front desk says we have a package...no packages." "Packages? From who?" Jax hung up. "I don't know. Why don't we have them sent up." Keesha nodded and while Jax called for the packages, she went back to looking out the window. Jax hung up. "Take off your clothes." "What?" she spun around. Jax walked over to the sofa, pulling his shirt over his head in one quick movement. He turned around, tossing the comforter and pillow back on the bed. "Oh my God..." she whispered as she stared at him. His muscles were so chisled, it was as if he had been sculpted by Michaelangelo himself. He was a living, breathing masterpice. "What?" "Nothing...nothing." "We're supposed to be newlyweds you know..." "Right...okay." There she went again, losing her ability to communicate. She climbed into the bed trying to figure out what to do with her clothes. She watched Jax run his fingers through his hair, touseling it.... She shook her head. Concentrate. She took off her top, putting it underneath the pillow and then easing under the covers. She pulled her bra straps down, her shoulders showing, so it looked like she was nude. "Okay?" Jax looked at her. He walked over and pushed her hair back, mussing it slightly. She continued to look into his eyes, smiling as they grew darker with intent. He looked like he was having so much *fun*. "You are so...adoreable." she admitted. "Adoreable? That's not something I hear often." he grinned. "Thank you. Lay down....are you underneath the sheets?" "Yes." Keesha answered as she reclined in the bed. Jax tore the rest of the covers off her and tossed them to the floor. He pulled the sheets from the bottom of the bed, pushing them up over her body, exposing her legs. Hiis hands accidently brushed the smooth skin and he froze. Jax looked up at Keesha, straring into her eyes. He couldn't even remember what he was doing, all he could think of now was the softness of her lips...her smile...her hands...her skin... Everything about her was soft. Warm. Inviting. "Was that the door?" Keesha's voice brought him out of his haze. "Right." he leaned up from the bed, passing the couch. "Your shirt." she whispered. He took his shirt from the couch and threw it to her. She placed it underneath the pillow with hers and then laid down on her stomach, closing her eyes. Jax chastised himself as he headed to the door. He glanced back at Keesha-immediately he was once again transfixed by her. The knock came again. He couldn't *wait* to get to his house where he could be apart from her again. He opened the door. "Thank you." The attendant smiled and handed Jax the giant stuffed envelope. He tipped him and closed the door. "Okay." Keesha sat up in bed. "What do we have?" "Cards...." Jax dumped the cards on the table. "Lots of cards." he laughed. "Bring them here." she giggled. Jax took some and walked over to the bed, sitting down next to her. As Keesha started opening the cards, Jax read the enclosed letter from Jerry outloud. "You told me to tell Bobbie and I did, while she was at work. Amy was there. These were all at the office by last night. Jerry." "...Monica and Alan, V and Marcus....Dara...Luke...Laura and Stefan...Katherine...Lucy....how did Jerry get them here so fast.." "He has his ways....Ned and Alexis...Lila...hey, where's Edward's." Keesha giggled. "Right. Edward is probably waiting to give me a long speech." Jax looked up at her. "I didn't know so many people cared." he said sarcastically and Keesha's giggles turned into a laugh. Jax winked at her with a smile. "Being married to you is already good for my reputation..." "Stop." she smacked him on the arm...she had never in her entire life felt something so *solid*. She looked into his eyes...how could his eyes be more beautiful everytime she looked into them? How was that even possible that he could be more lovely every time she looked at him? And why couldn't she tear herself away from his eyes...when she looked into Jax's eyes, she couldn't see anything *but* him...everything else just drifted away... Insinctively Jax's eyes followed the fall of Keesha's sheet from her body...travelling down her body until they rested on her bare stomach. His body reacted instantly. Quikly Jax corrected himself, looking back into her eyes...she had such lovely eyes...*that* was a bad idea. He stopped looking at her and got up from the bed. "Sorry." She already had the sheet back over her. "Why..." she joked, trying to lighten both their moods. "It's not like I have something you've never seen before." she pulled her bra straps back up over her shoulders. "Trust me, you are much more impressive." Jax looked at Keesha. This time it was her turn to wink and Jax's to laugh. Keesha smiled at his laugh. It was a wonderful sound. Everything about Jax was wonderful.... "Do you want to open them or shall I?" "We'll open them together." Jax took a few cards and sat down on the floor in front of the bed. Jerry signed with a smirk. "Thank you very much." "My family is going to eat me alive for this." Ned barked as he took the contract giving Jerry ELQ stock. "We never asked for any favors." "However, I know you expect one. This is it. So don't bother asking. I've done the favor." Jerry stood. "Don't be mad at me...I didn't do anything...neither did Jax. This is your fault." "MY fault." "No one told you to use Alexis for your own personal gain...though I have to hand it to you, hiding Justus' will until just the right moment...whatever the right moment was." "And why would I do that?" Jerry shrugged. "Who knows why Quartermaines do anything. I'll see you at the next meeting. You're such a backstabbing bunch." "Takes one to know one." Ned countered. "Well, if you need help getting back into your family's good graces, let me know." "Help? You?" "There must be more important people you're worried about than me. Sonny for instance." Jerry finished his beer and Ned watched as he left. The beating from his family was nothing compared to the time he spent last night trying to convince Alexis that he didn't have anything to do with Justus' will. Nothing compared to the disgust he would feel watching Edward gush all over AJ, yet *again*. "Not happening, Junior." Ned got up from the table and left Jake's. Keesha tapped Jax on the shoulder. "Hold on, Jer..." "Might as well, you haven't paid a word of attention to me during this entire call." Jax shook his head and answered Keesha. "Yes?" "Sorry. Are we venturing out this evening, or are we ordering in." "Let's go out." Jax couldn't spend much more time alone with her in this space without losing his control. "Great." Keesha was hoping he would say that. It would be hard to throw herself at him with a bunch of other people around. Jax watched as Keesha went into the bathroom to shower. "...what?" "Ned let me into ELQ." Jax smiled. "Nice bonus. I wasn't expecting that." "Yeah, well Ned says not to expect anymore from him....though I planted the idea of getting rid of Sonny into his head." "Excellent job as usual." "Oh, you flatter me." "Bye Jerry." Jax disconnected and then dialed again. "Is it ready....okay...give it about 20 minutes or so." he smiled. "Your turn." "Okay." Jax stayed on the bed until Keesha far enough away that he felt safe to venture forth. She opened the closet, looking for a dress. She heard the bathroom door close and turned to look. The phone light was beeping again. She went and dialed. "...yes...send it up." Another package. She went to tell Jax, but she could hear the sounds of the shower. Keesha started to get ready as she waited. After a moment someone knocked and she went over. She looked at the gift wrapped box. She tipped the attendant and closed the door. *Keesha*. So, this one was just for her. Don't let it be from AJ, or Sonny...she could imagine Sonny pretending to be happy for her so that then he could convince her he was only saving her because she needed to be saved. As if anyone needed to be saved from Jax. Now herself, perhaps... "Oh..." Keesha held up the strand of pearls. She looked down at the matching earrings. "Do you like them?" Keesha turned and looked. "These are from you?" "Of course...who else would they be from?" "Jax...you really shouldn't have. This ring is wonderful enough...I don't want you..." "Spending too much money for this plan. I know. However, this is not for the plan. These are for you. I saw them when I went out today....you were asleep. They had your name written all over them." he smiled. "The color seemed to be just for you, and they're small and simple, which is how you seem to like things." "You noticed?" it wasn't so much of a question, it was more a statement, to herself. "I figured I should pick up on things like that." "My grandmother used to have pearls, she let me borrow them once." she looked up at him once more. Bad idea. "Oh...I'm really..." Jax blinked in shock as Keesha ran up to him and hugged him tightly. He closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her, relishing in her scent as it washed over him. "Thank you Jax." she whispered. "You're welcome." he managed to let her go and stepped back, looking down at her. She smiled softly at him. Again she had an urge, but this time, she wasn't going to ignore it. Keesha reached up and brushed the falling strand of hair from Jax's face. His eyes closed when she touched him, and she moved closer to him. Gently she placed a small kiss on his cheek. Jax watched as she moved past him taking a dress into the bathroom to change into. Keesha closed the door behind her and Jax absently reached up, touching his face where her kiss lingered. Shani
