Checking this area of the yard again from a different direction so as not to miss anything I am very happy to find this War nickel
Last silver
Several days later I returned to dig anything that sounded trashy or very faint.Now I am really diggin a lot of trash and old iron nails. Big iron nails...from a time when nails where made to hold together mountains of lumber.(lol)
Under the BIG oak tree I get a cruddy sounding signal, digging provides me with 3 fat rusty nails. Rechecking the hole sends a clear sweet signal to me and from under a root at the bottom of the hole I slide this out!
A month or so later
Well I got bored about a month later and went back to this location and still managed to dig another war nickel, the first mercury dime from this location and a very nice 1912 wheat penny. All from one hole!!
While looking through all the finds I have made in this location I failed to mention a gold ring I found, 10K plated and 10K filled. (So why not just get a 10K ring..lol)
I have also noticed that most of the bums stopped hanging around these houses and people aren't throwing as much trash into the yards. This makes it easier to hunt now.
Now the date is 4/5/2001 and last monday I went back to these houses for the first time in about a month just to see if I could find anything else. I was promptly told to leave because the owner thought I was diggin up all their treasures. When I first talked to them no interest in MDing was shown. They didn't care about what was in the dirt, but now it's like I was digging gold coins every time I showed up. They still show no interest in MDing.....
I guess because they saw me hunting it very hard for about 3 weeks they thought I was digging large amounts of coins? If only I had all the trash I had dug to show them otherwise. I hate when people get conceaded like that, they never would put in the time or effort to dig any good coins from these trash filled yards if they were to start MDing.
But that's ok, I got some nice keeper coins and gracefully left with making a big fuss. I have some new spots to hunt!!
