PROPER ETIQUETTE

Hypercrs@tampabay.rr.com

Proper ethics are important when out in public places and useing your metal detector. One day Dave and I where out and about checking some promising sites when we happened across two other THers. We were polite and friendly to them as we talked about our collective interest in the hobbie. After a short conversation we broke out or gear and started to search. We stayed clear of where the two others were working and selected different areas to search. Some time later the other two THers left and Dave came over to talk. We both decided that the two THers had been at this location for several hours, and that we should just move on to another location nearby that Dave had spotted. I confessed to Dave that it surprised me to see one of the fellows had dug rather large holes with a small shovel. But this was not the problem, the second fellow had dug holes with a hand spade, and was not filling them in when finished!!! Further inspection showed that both guys were leaving horrible holes every where!! A ball field that was clean and well mantained now had holes the size of large grapefruit dug all over it. As we walked to the car I tried to shovel some of the dirt back into these holes but I could not move much as nether Dave or I were carring spades or trowels. So the thing I'm trying to say is FILL IN YOUR HOLES!!!!! If I owened that ballfield I would have freaked out and never allowed any THers out there again.
