Charlie: Well if there was anyone left who didn't think 'N Sync deserved to be the princes of pop, listen to this. Their new album "No Strings Attached" released just last Tuesday has broken all records. Selling more than a million copies the first day and 2.4 million copies the first week. That is almost twice as much as the previous record for sales in the first week held by... well... the Backstreet Boys. N Sync is joining us now from Japan where they are on tour. Gentlemen, good morning and congratulations. Just how many records was that again?
- N Sync: *laughing*
- Chris: A MIIILLIIOON!
- Lance: That would be 2 and a half.
- Joey: Yea. 2.4. Pretty close to 2 and a half. And well good morning to you too but good evening for us.
- 'N Sync: Oh. No. Never.
- Justin: I don't even know what to say.
- Chris: Our fans are the best. They're the ones that stood outside and waited in line all night for that record and I mean we just sang it and they did all the work.
- Justin: We make em' and they break em'.
- Chris: Quote him!
- N Sync: Yea, yea.
- Chris: Coincidence?
*cut to a clip of N Sync performing "Bye Bye Bye" on GMA on March 13th*
- 'N Sync: *laughing*
- Justin: It was you, man! It was you, Charlie!
- N Sync: *laughing*
- Joey: Oh, you better talk to our manager.
- Chris: Oh, I think we're losing ya. I think we're breaking up.
- N Sync: *laughing, making static noises, all touching their ear pieces*
- Chris: Huh? What was that?
N Sync: *laughing*
Charlie: One think I didn't get to ask you when you were here. It's been well documented. You guys have gone through some very tough legal times with your old label, your old manager etc. The name of this album, "No Strings Attached". Is that coincidence or are you saying something there?
- Justin: It's a statement.
- JC: It's a statement. I mean, ya know, this album was very liberated. It was freeing for us, ya know. This album was freedom. I mean from top to bottom this album was creatively put together by the 5 guys you see right here. Um, and from that point on when all that legal hassle went down we just decided, ya know, from this day forward it's time that we just take control of the whole thing and that's what people are getting in this album is NO STRINGS ATTACHED. It's N Sync, pure N Sync.
- Chris: Yea. It wasn't just about the legal problems. I mean, there was a lot of like stereotypes that we were having to deal with all along and we felt that we didn't deserve to deal with these steroetypes so, ya know. We just came out and basically said this is raw N Sync. This is who we are and now if people wanna try to pigeon-hole us or stereotype us, at least they'll have some, ya know, better way of doing it because this is US.
Charlie: Well who you are, fabulously successful in the first week, "No Strings Attached".
- N Sync: Thank you.
Charlie: And I congratulate all of you, Oscars, big selling album in one week.
N Sync: Thank you.
Charlie: This has been quite something and I wish you all the best. Thank you.
- JC: It's been a wonderful week.
- Lance: It's been a HECK of a week!
- N Sync: Thank you.
Charlie: It has been indeed. This is the week that was for all of you and we congratulate you.
- Lance: Aw, thank you.
- N Sync: Thank you.
Charlie: As soon as we go to commercial you and I will begin to negotiate what profits we get.
- N Sync: Ohhh, ok. *laughing*
- Chris: Oh. We're breaking up again!
- JC: Oh, geez.
- N Sync: *touching ear pieces, laughing*
- Chris: Sorry. Ok. Talk to you later. I think he's saying bye.
