If you want to know everything about the guy you love, whom do you ask? Why his mom and best friend of course! Think about it--who knows you better than your mom and your true blue best bud? Well, during SuperTeen's most recent visit to Orlando, Florida, we ran into two people who happen to be very special to one of your fave guys, 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake. We bumped into his lovely mom, Lynn (who has a very busy career these days, managing the girl-group Innosense and ex-Mickey Mouse Club member, former Young Hercules star, and soon-to-be-a-super-pop-singer Ryan Gosling) and his bestest friend Trace Ayala. The pair were psyched to chat about Justin--including those must-know secrets about his younger-guy years!
SuperTeen: So Trace, what's it like to see your best friend become famous?
TRACE: Great! Awesome!
SuperTeen: How long have you and Justin been friends?
TRACE: Since we were born. Our parents were best friends.
LYNN: Trace's mom and I were best friends since we were 15.
TRACE: Justin and I went to elementary school together, and our families go on vacations together all the time.
SuperTeen: Did you and Justin ever get into trouble in grammar school?
TRACE: We were always in trouble together--not when we were separate. Not bad trouble--we'd just aggravate our teachers a lot.
SuperTeen: Justin is always experimenting with his hair--what's the wackiest thing you've done to your hair?
TRACE: Oh, the two of us have had our hair every color you can think of. Justin once dyed his hair baby blue! We used to dye our hair with Kool Aid!
LYNN: I got called into school one day because Justin had his hair in braids. He had a hat on to cover them, and when the teacher told him to take off his hat, there were the braids. So they called me at work, and I said 'I'm busy! Just tell him to take the braids out! It's no big deal!'
SuperTeen: What kinds of vacations did you go on together?
LYNN: They used to do the father/son fishing trips, camping--snakes and all!
TRACE: We did that in the summer. It was always camping in the summer. And then in the winter we'd go snow skiing. The first time we went together, Justin was like, 'Just put your feet together and go with it!' I ended up in the parking lot! Everyone laughed at me.
SuperTeen: Trace, has Justin inspired you to try for a singing career?
TRACE: Not singing! Never singing. But I would love to do acting. I was in Jack Of All Trades with Justin--not a big part. Justin and I were valet parkers--he tosses the keys to me. I'd love to do more of that--it was so much fun!
SuperTeen: Do you and Justin ever get teased about your resemblance to one another?
TRACE: I get that all the time. They say, if my hair was blonde, we'd be twins.
LYNN: The two of them are something else--they've been best friends forever, and they look and act like brothers. Justin's lucky to have such a great friend.
