The University is in the process of implementing Oracle Financials and Human Resources modules. Worked as a technical consultant in Oracle HR and Payroll modules and was responsible for the design, development of data conversion programs to upload legacy data into application tables. The conversions handled were as follows:

• Earnings and Deductions Element Entry: This conversion is used to populate the Earnings and deductions that are attached to each assignment for each employee. The data was derived from the

legacy Payroll system and the spreadsheet maintained by Benefits of the Child care payments and loaded into Element Entry form of Oracle Applications. Used the procedure py_element_entry_api.create_element_entry to perform data conversion.

• Contacts and their Eligibility to become Dependents/Beneficiaries: This conversion is used to convert basic information about the University employee’s Contacts and establish eligibility for Dependent and Beneficiary designation. The data was derived from two flat files, namely People file and Dependent file and the procedure hr_contact_rel_api.create_contact_address_phone was used in the conversion process.
• Extensively used EDMS, Oracle’s tool for data conversion.

As Part of the project his tasks included the following:

The Personnel and Payroll system existing on ICL mainframes are replaced by Oracle HRMS on UNIX. He was involved with developing the conversion programs to import data into the system. It required the development of Unit Test Plans, reviewing the test cases and overseeing the testing of programs. He has extensively used PL/SQL Procedures/Functions to upload data from host system and support user for database maintenance and data security.

• Imported employee information from legacy system into temporary table using SQL* Loader.
• Imported employee and position information from interim table using PL/SQL Procedures to call hr_employee_api.create_employee and hr_position_api.create_position APIs.

• Uploaded the addresses of employees who are already loaded in the system. The procedure uses the hr_person_address_api.create_us_person_address API. If the record is not inserted in the tables, the errors are returned and an interim table is updated with the values of SQLCODE and SQLERRM.

• Interacted with end users to modify and enhance custom reports in HRMS.

• Familiarity with various HRMS flexfield structures like jobs, positions, grades, people groups, personal analysis and cost allocation.

• Imported employee information from legacy system into temporary table using SQL* Loader and subsequently used a PL/SQL Procedure to call hr_employee_api.create_employee API.

• Involved in studying historical data and feeder system data and used conversion programs to import journal entries into Oracle General Ledger using ‘Journal Import’ feature.

• Posted the budget information from a feeder system using Oracle Apps ‘Budget Upload’ program.

Customized and developed the following Reports:

• Report for Bucket wise Receivable amount accessing base tables ar_payment_schedules, ar_aging_buckets, ra_customers.

• Report for Customer Dues Information was generated using data from tables ar_payment_schedules, ra_customers.

• Accessed tables ra_addresses, ra_site_uses, ra_customers to develop Customer Bill to Address Report.

Used SQL*Loader as a conversion tool to transfer customer information from Legacy system and performed necessary validation checks of data through PL/SQL. Important interface tables worked with were ra_customers_interface, ra_customer_profiles_interface.

Customized and developed the following Reports:

• Report for Vendor Invoice Amount Aging using tables ap_invoices, ap_payment_schedules, po_vendors.

• Report for Payables Quickcodes using table ap_lookup_codes.

Worked as Analyst Programmer involved in system study, design and laying down of system specifications. In the later stages of the project was involved in development and unit testing.

Costing and MIS System with Cost Audit Reports.

The project was to develop and implement a standalone Cost Accounting Package for a Bulk Drug Manufacturing Plant. Was involved in the following phases of the project:

System Study and Requirement Analysis

Undertook study of various reports of Costing and Production departments. Main reports studied were monthly division-wise Profit & Loss A/c, Element-wise (raw materials, utilities) reports, Variance reports of production, costs. The requirement analysis phase covered the impartial professional suggestions for various additional reports, methods for collection of minimum additional data, refinement of the existing reports in format and contents.

• Identified data entities and studied relationships between them. Organized these in the form of normalized tables.
• Identified various data required from the existing system’s transfer programs.
• Batch-wise / Product-wise issue details of raw material and packing material. Suggested controls to be incorporated in the existing raw material inventory and packing material inventory.

Hospital Management System Package

This is a comprehensive integrated package catering to the diverse needs in the various functional areas of hospitals. The system offers separate subsystems that cover the functional areas of Outdoor Patient Management, Indoor Patient management, Pharmacy Management, Report Generation for investigation services, Financial Accounting, Stores Management & Equipment maintenance system.

Outdoor Patient Management Subsystem

Was involved in database design, preparation of program specifications and development using Forms 4.5 for graphical user interface and Reports 2.5 for generation of MIS reports.

The modules within this subsystem are OPD Registration and OPD Billing. The OPD Registration module provides for printing of OPD case paper for various OPDs simultaneously with the receipt for the charges to be collected from the patients. It is also designed to capture information of the renewals and transfer of a patient from one OPD/Doctor to another OPD/Doctor. Some of the MIS reports generated were Receipts Scroll, Department-wise/Doctor-wise Patient Analysis, Department-wise Service Statistics and Income Analysis Reports.
