How to hack IRC - by Knowone Of Consequence Yes, there IS a way to "hack" IRC, and in this document, I will tell you how I do it. There are several different ways to go about doing this, but right now I am only going to tell you how I do it. Well, first things first... What do we want to achive? In most cases, I think what we want to do it this: Get OP's on some channel that we have don't have +o status in. WHY do we want to do this: Who cares? We don't have to have a reason! Usally, though, we want to do this to irritate people. Maybe that jerk that kicked you out of his chan the other day for playing your kewl new popup. Maybe that op over in such- and-such a channel that baned you for "advertising", or maybe just because you CAN!! (The latter reason is MY favorite). Anyway, here's what to do... First, you need to be able to tell when an IRC server on the network you're using (DALnet, Undernet, etc...) splits off from the rest of the network. *Some*times, you can tell when splits happen on your own, but I'm not going to go into that here. The easiest way to do this is to have a Link Looker. There are a bunch out there, but I usally use the ones in TêrMïñ8tðr. It comes set for use with DALnet, but can be set to work with other IRC networks. Click here for some other Link Lookers. When you get notified of a split by your link looker or otherwise, *quickly* connect to the split server in mIRC. To be able to do this, you will need to be able to start several copies of mIRC. (You can also do this with a MCB [Multi Collide Bot], but it's a little harder to figure out). If you are using the 32-bit mIRC, just click on the mIRC icon to start another copy. If you are using mIRC16, then what you have to do is is make several copies of the mirc.exe and name them mirc1.exe, mirc2.exe, etc. Anyway, like I said, once you find a spilt server, start another copy of mIRC and connect to it *quickly*. Now, lets say that you want to takeover or "hack" the channel #hack. Well, to do this, first you have to get rid of *all* the ops on that channel. (Well, you don't *have* to, but if you don't, they might de-op you before you can deop them). If there are only one or two ops on the chan, I recommend killing them. If there are a bunch of them, it would be better to just take you chances and hope you can deop them before they deop you. To do this, I recommend using a script like TêrMïñ8tðr that has a mass op kick/deop/ban feature. Now, back to what I wuz saying ... Once you get connected to the split server, /join the channel you want to gain ops on, in this case, #hack. Since you are on a split server, you should be the only one in the chan and should have ops (an @ by your name). If by chance someone else is also on the split server and in the channel, then you might as well forget it, 'cause they will keep you from getting ops 'cause they were there first. (You can try begging for OPs then deoping them ifyou get it...or just nuke the snot out of them until they get disconnected...then part and rejoin the channel). Now assumming you are the only one in the chan and you have ops, just wait for the split server to reconnect to the rest of it's network. In the mean time, you can open up a few more copies of mIRC and connect to the spilt server with them. Once connected, make your nick(s) the *exact* same at the nick(s) of the ops you wanna kill. Once that is set up, just minimize that/those mirc(s) and let them sit. Now go back to the mIRC that is connected to the split server that is in the channel you want to hack. just sit and wait. Sooner or later, the server will reconnect (you will see multible nicks joining very fast). The *moment* it does, and you start to see names appear on the name list, run your mass op deop/kick/ban script. Another way to prevent any other people gettings OPs is to get a script with an auto-deoper, like TêrMïñ8tðr. If you don't see *any* other people with @'s in from of their name, then you don't have to run the script because those other mircs in the background sucessfully killed the ops. - BUT WATCH OUT, they *will* be back, and SOON. When they do come back, run your deop script the moment the join. BTW, before you start deoping and kicking the OPs I recommend you make sure that you have an @ by your name...hehehe. Once your OPed....here are som phun things to do: Set the channel mode +m (type /mode #channel +m). This keeps everybody without OPS or a +V from typing anything to the channel!!! Another phun thing to do: Set mIRC so that whenever someone in #hack types "hack", kick them out. Or whenever someone in #sk8 types "sk8" kick them out...phun to watch...hehehe. By The Way, I wouldn't really recommend tring to takeover #hack, seeing as how they will have gud scripts and such, too, but do whatever u want..
