The Gallery of Gene
Gene is wearing her gown from the
hit movie "Red Venus". She portrays a gangster's red headed girl friend
and it's her first "bad girl" role. This is also the dress that made
me purchase my first Gene. It an off the shoulder gown, that has a matching
boa, matching shoes, hose and jewelry. I hear a rumor that this doll
would be retired soon, so collectors who are interested should try and purchase
her while she still readily available.
Gene is a heiress in search of a stolen
jewel in the film "Blue Goddess"". Gene is in a powder blue strapless
gown and it has an attached bead trimmed stole, matching shoes, hose, and
jewelry come with this doll. In this gown she truely is a blonde
bomb shell. This doll also was a 1996 DOTY Nominee and one of my favorites.
It's the first blonde doll I truely like.
Gene portrays a princess who wants
to escape palace life and feel the world of the commoner in "The King Daughter".
Gene wears a royal-blue velvet, 18th century style gown trimmed in gold braid.
Her gown comes completed with lilac under skirt, tiara, hose and of course
matching shoes. This doll was limited and is to my knowledge sold
out.
Gene is a jazz club singer with
striking auburn hair in the movie "Ice Coffee". She wears a gorgeous
cafe au lait colored strapless chiffon and satin gown. The outfit is
completed with matching gloves, hose, shoes and jewelry. This is my favorite
Gene doll.
"Love's Ghost" is a Victorian period
romance starring Gene as the governess of two children. Gene is wearing
a white Victorian era two piece white blouse and matching skirt, this outfit
comes complete with a straw hat. Ensemble comes with "pearl jewelry,
hose and white shoes and a matching hair ribbon. Love's Ghost is sold
as a fashion only, no doll comes with it.
A golden haired Gene wears this two
piece evening gown of black lace and velvet trimmed in gold
to her first premiere "Blonde Lace" the movie that made her a star.
"Premiere" has hand-applied beads and sequins and comes with matching
shoes and hose. This doll was retired in the fall of 1996 and was
first Gene retired.
Gene attends a reception honoring
her life achievements. She wears this strapless green taffeta ballgown to
the gala event. During the course of the evening a never
produced movie staring Gene called "Destiny" is shown to party guest.
Gene outfit includes evening gloves, gold barrette, jewelry and matching shoes.
This doll is the 1998 Annual Edition doll, first in the series.
According to the flyer I received she is set for release in
April.
