All You Are

Just a moving picture,
Sittin' in a box,
Strummin' your guitar,
That is all you are.
So tell me why I'm sitting here,
    Crying salty tears,
Drop by drop have fallen down,
    And still some more appear.
Just a twenty inch poster,
Hanging on my my wall,
Smiling into the camera,
That is all you are.
It's not your looks that make me cry,
    Or even your angel voice,
Not the way you catch the light,
    Or even your carefree poise.
Just a little compact disc,
Spinning in my stereo,
Singing softly your solo part,
That is all you are.
It's the way I feel I know you,
The way it feels so true,
The way you have entered my life,
And made things feel so new.
Just a fantasy too far to have,
Or even gently hold,
Just a brilliant shining star,
That is all you are.
It's the way my stomach turns,
The way that my heart beats,
It's knowing that you're who you are,
And way out of my reach.

Take a wild guess who this is about, guys. . . ha ha. Obvious, eh?
