~~~The First Letter~~~
Alix, Xila, Superwoman . . .
In case you're oblivious like me, I've changed this part of the page. I had promised my (and our) dear friend Alix (Xila) a part on the webpage for her to greet all her friends she left behind (sadly) here in the states. Since I'm too lazy to put a link to a new page all over the place and she's more important than that, I'm dedicating this main page to her. ^_^ Aww . . .
For those of you who don't know Alix, you're missing out. She is an awesome girl who came to school with me and fellow whores/giggalos for a year or so but she has since moved. Waah. She now lives in Denmark and promises to write me regularly so I can post her messages up here for all her friends to read! If you would like to tell Alix anything or send her mail, she asked that you kindly send me the stuff and I PROMISE I will send her anything you want ASAP. So if you're a friend of Alix, please join my mailing list so I can inform you of when I post something new that's Alix-related.
That would make things easier. Without further babbling from me, here is Alix's first and most recent message, which I recieved on July 7th, 2000. I almost cried. And yes, Alix, I was dying of jealousy.
(That was just random)
Here goes (unedited and raw):
Hey! ok-i'm sorry i haven't written earlier-but our computer got here a week ago and i thought-oh i'll just write on that computer-but it's STILL not set up so i'm writing from work..the American Embassy. I have my own desk, e-mail and chair and everything else-oh! and a stapler-actualy 2 of them everybody needs a stapler! y'know i hope this is sent to the right address- i don't have my little book with all my e-mails in it so i just thought this was Your(you being Teresa) address-it looks right-oh! i send my your webpage address-I don't have the internet on this computer, but i can get on another one. do you have any page for me up yet? i know some took a picture of me in my leather pants (I LOVE YOU FELECIA) ok-well i love every-1 else too, but felecia is special-got that! oh-and that big Sherwood sweater has come in handy, it too cold here-and it's sumer! AHHHHHH!! i'm goijg to hate the winters...i proabably have so many sp mistakes-i'm typing so fast and not looking at any of it-ah-well....
ok-i guess i shouild tell you what i've been doing. OHOHOH!!! TERESA GUESS WHO WAS ON MY PLANE!!!!(it was the short ride-after a layover in frankfurt(a 5 hour layover..funfunfun)) YOU WOULD HAVE DIED TO BE ON MY PLANE!!!! YOU SOO SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. no-it's not bsb(i wouldn't be so excited if it was.
TEAM AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok-they were a volleyball team, they were all tall, built and beautiful!! he he he..........
ok-so now i've succeeded in making you incredibly jealous!!! is there any thing else about the plane ride.....the 7 hour flight from MD was actually pretty good(i bought a silverchair cd before the flight!!! i love it sooo much!!) i've never been in coach were there were individual TV screens in each seat-and about 10 channels-whose line is it anyway was on-but not the british version-which is also very funny. ummm......hte airplane food was nasty...and they didn't have p-nuts!! what type of airline doesn't offer p-nuts!!! if any of you are ever on a plane that doesn't offer p-nuts-you need to get in their face!! they had this styrofoam(i KNOW thats wrong-i mean i spelled the word styrofoam wrong...i think-but i'm not sure b/c i don't know the real spelling) stuff, it was mustard flavoured-or imitation mustard flavour. (notice: i spelled flavour with a U-that makes me cool b/c that a better way of spelling it...well it looks better and all you people who spell words like flavour and colour with out a U are...just....anti-U and thats wrong!)
sorry-if i seem like a crackhead i'm at work and incredibly bored-well not too bored-i'm writing this-b/c anne has nothing for me to do right now(anne is my supervisior)
ok-when i first got here i dogsat ofr a week, that was boring, but then i came to work...i get paid yey!! 7.50 an hour i beleive...i like that-but we don't get paid for over time and we're only allowed to work so may hours...3-4 hours a day.
ok, at work i met this guy Adam b/c/ my dad is his dad's boss. and my first couple of days here we were going to go to down town copenhagen with this other new guy(Reede-i haven't met him yet-but he's 6'3" and i've met his older sister and dad) so he could show us both around(i thinkhis dad made him do it-y'know be nice to the new kid-but that doesn't matter. anyway Adam and i met a a train station(metro station, whatever) and then went to antother one to meet reede-bue we nver found him, apparently he was there for a an hour(his dad told me that) so adam and i got coffee and then went to a movie-oh! i saw American Beauty, it was soooo goo-if you haven't seen it yet, you need to. after the movie we went down a walking street and he showed my the one store in the country that sells JNCOs, for $100 upwards(that's about 800kroner-kroner would be the currency they use in denmark) anyways that was fun...then i went home and slept.
oh-for the 4th of july i went to Rehbild(i think thats how you spellit...) it was a 4 hour drive and i hade to live out of a suit case ofr 4 days-i am getting so sick of that!!! it was a huge deal-i'm stillnot sure why those danes were so excited about the 4th of july, but hey i'm ok with it. the first day we got there we went to dinner at Jen's house(Jens is said like Yens-j's make a y sound in danish) that was good food...they had this great salmon patte with shrimp and asparagus..yummy....anyway they had 2 daughter a 11 and 15 year old so my sister and i were sent off with them-we didn't talk at all(there the the slight problem of lanuage barrier) but we played ludo or sorry or whatever you call that game. the next day my sister stayed at the hotel and i went to a guild initiation w/my parent. it was pretty-funny basiclly it was put together for people who wanted ot get secretly drunk during the occupation-i think-but that's what i got out of it. oh-they had the nastiest alcohol stuff!! it was 45% alcocol(american beer is about 3-5 % alcohol) it called Aquavite-and when the old guys in charge saw that my mom didn't drink heres-they gave her a whole bottle. the crew of the ship that had just landed to celebrate the 4th of jluy was there too...lots of cute saloirs!! i like saliors....ok...later that say we went to a really boring reception thing that lasted from 5:30 to 12:30 i left at 11:30...but my parents stayed and danced-i danced one dance with my dad, but it was way too crowed to do anything fun.
wait-earlier that day after the initiation and before the reception.(my sister and i stayed at the hotel while my parents went to some reception thing on the boat-i wasn't invited but apparently all the mid-shipmen were asking about me!! (they're from the coast guard acedemy.)
the next day i went to a lunch thing and sat a table with this really cool lady from california and her husband...they were prably the only ones not worried about using their fork correctly. or making polite conversation-my sister was at the table with the mayor of the city and the caption of the ship...i felt sorry for her. anyway some one gave me a card with the name of her daughter on it b/c she works at a cafe right next to the embassy. that night we went to a concert with the USAFE (united states Air Force in europe)band, they were pretty good they did an awesome glenn miller. then we went to the hotel(after we stopped at burger king-they amke much better sandwiches here y'know) we fell asleep around midnight. the next day(4th of July) we had to wake up early and go to a ceremony, my dad and the ambassador laid a wreath. then we went to a short church service in a really pretty church with huge chandeliers and a big organ. it was a lutheran servic. remember those girls i told you about the 15 and 11 year old? they entered a song contest. they wrote a new verse for-fly on the wings of love-by the Olsen brothers. you probably haven't heard of them but they are HUGE here-i heard of them with in an hour of getting here. they won the european grand-prix(a HUGE songcontest-they were they only ones that didn't use canned music), anyway they were one of the top 10, the winner would be announced later. and they were invited to go to the airport and meet the Olsen Brothers when they landed. they invited us,my sister and i went. and that's what we did then.....we wrote on a danish flag and gave it to them.
then we went to a lunch in rehbild. it was in a tent...hot and stuffy and too crowded. and they had pickled herring :-( oh and the danes LOVE to sing i think there was at least 3 songs song at every place i went to. after eating we hiked through the hills to a valley where a stage was set up. only the special people got to sit up on stge(like the ambassador and my dad) i sat right next to the speaker. but i would rather have beed sitting on a hill like most b/c i had to behave in my seat on the stage :-( ok- a bunch of bands played and speeches made(the Olsen Brothers were there). afeter that i dressed up(i wore my green metallic skirt with the mirrior things on it with my green reptilian shirt). ok i ate-i talked to this cool american guy(i think he was about 50 or sooo.. but he liked Eminem so he was cool. there was dancing after dinner-i danced about 4-5 with the midshipmen...heehee! they didn't know what they were doing, or how to danc e in a place like that so we just screwed up the dance floor-it was fun. then i danced with my dad-that was actually fun b/c he knew how to dance so i just kind of followed, it was actually pretty fun and then the guy who apparently ran the whole celebration for the fourth of July asked me to dance, he was good and he said i had rythm!!! and that i was a good dancer(he said that to my mom) and some other guy told my dad i was a good dancer-so i felt good about myself!
and then i went to bedat 1am and we got up early to say bye-bye to the ship and we drove home. i went to work on thurday and on my way home(i wouldn't have been going home at this time but Chuck went to lunch w/o me b/c he thought i was gone, i get offf about noon every day-well today i got off earlier and actually i stopped writing in the middle of this letter to go to luch with chuck and jeremy-chuck's cuter) anyways on my way home i was waiting at a stoplight and this little asian guy(he could have been anywhere between 20-40) he stopped next to me and said "very beautiful" and walked off-it was so cute!! and then i was waitng for the train and sitting on a bench and this old danish guy sat next to me and said something in danish-so i had to tell him i couldn't speak danish so he said (in english now) thank you for leaving the bench open for me and then he said-you are very nice-looking in all languages-so my confidence was great yesterday. and then i went home and cleaned a bit and went o the supermarket place with my mom-it was an amazingly good selection(and cute danish guys working there!) i went window shopping and found a necklace i HAVE to have, i can't really explain it-it's a chocker with stones in it and it has a lot of long chains hanging from it, with stones at the end. I HAVE TO HAVE IT it was abut 1200 kroner...about $150...but i'm gonna get it.
ok-i think you're moslty caught up if any one wants to ask me any questions-give them to teresa to send to me b/c i can't give this e-mail out to a alot of people-plus it will be disabled in a month.
oh about chuck-he's the son the the guy who's riight beneath the ambassador, he's 18...has great shoulders! and those gorgeous blue eyes i go gaga over. i just thought i would indulge you-he's half danish so i huess that meand the demartian guys are pretty decent...(someone wrote that term in my autograph book but i can't remember who...demartian...)
Jeg elsker dig (I love you in danish-it's pronounced yi-elske-di)
Aww :( That's all there was. I hope that makes you feel a little bit closer to our dear friend Alix whom we all miss so much. I almost cried. Especially about the Australian Vball team. And the fact she bought a Silverchair CD. Aww . . . WAAAH.
