Creation's Juxtapose
by
Joel Furches

O
h marvel of eternity,

The sky was turning black

The judgment of humanity

Rolled down his bloody back

The wounds and blood are tokens

Or Adam's fateful choice

"Father why hast thou forsaken me"

He spoke with feeble voice

The sky grew black at midday

His father turned his head

"Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachihani ?"

Is what he feebly said

They laughed and scorned and mocked him

Some gay, some proud, some grim

"Now let us see my fellows.

If Elias saveth Him."

As the serpent was lifted up

So was the son of man

As a lamb led to its slaughter

This was His Fathers plan

They laugh, and scorn, and mock him

They shout and scoff and boo

"Dear Father please forgive them

They know not what they do."

How beautiful His visage

The bloody scared up face

how purposeful His sacrifice

He's hanging in my place

undignified position

He was the last, the first

His swollen lips move once again

He weakly says, "I thirst"

They give him wine and vinegar

To help Him find His voice

From the very beginning

This fate was His own choice

"Father, into your hands

I do commit my spirit"

He pauses for a moment

And then, for those who hear it

He speaks His final word

Which strength has not diminished

Throughout all of eternity

He says just "It is finished"

From top to bottom the curtain tears

It is a gaping rift

And now He's looking straight at you

"Will you accept this gift?"
