Spring Flowers

Blue, yellow, pink and
mauve
Primulas and violets
Scattered on the black
earth
In a pattern of love
A gift to life, and love
Sweet kisses in every
leaf and flower
Bursting buds of a Spring
embrace
Strewn lovingly on the
dark earth
Bright flowers of giving

And as she left that day
There were tears in her eyes
And later, it rained a
little
And the tears of her love
nourished the flowers
In a loving gift
of her love
to life
and to me
