Serenity by Michael David Coffey
Serenity
In the pain of loving,
I cry out
Longing for your sensitivity
For in my heart
there is deep
yearning
For a time and place
of serenity
Calm waters
and a river bank
And Spring songs
caressing
our thoughts
In serenity of minds
Sheltered in the thickets
of yellow gorse
Among the meadows
of violets and celandines
I dream of our lying
there in perfect peace
Watching the sky blue
heavens and praying
for serenity
in our loving
Serenity that elusive
place,
of exciting peace
I need that
more than anything
And in us, I see that
magical land
Of a lover's dream
A place of passion
unleashed
Of calm and creation
and boundless
love
