Painting: Young Girl gathering Grapes by Karl
Briullov
Passion Vines
Sweet fragrance of passion
flowers
Sunlight reflected on
their soft paleness
Delicate images in
an afternoon embrace
Of a hot summer's
pageant
Humming birds and
sweet touches in the
gentle breeze of
giving
By the dancing fountain,
playing a vibrant
tune
that only lovers heed
Whispering sounds of
the soothing wind
And here we kissed
in that mellow
sun warmed afternoon
The sweet attraction
of first passion
At our tender meeting
in the heat
of love's day
With a cool air on our faces
And playing a lover's tune
We clung to each other
like the strong vines
of the passion flower
in the ripeness
of summer
In ecstatic moments
of a loving intermission
Here we were ... alone
Two lovers in the shelter
of that tangled vine
Drifting away in a
dusky encounter
Love, lovingly on our minds
Among the passion vines
on that sultry
summer's day
