"Vilcabamba" by Michael David Coffey

And this was love

In the quiet meadows of
the rarified alpine peaks
Our love lines crossed in
a moment of intensity
Divinely woven of a silver
thread
Intimately crossed in
a lover's lasting embrace
Spun in the touch of a
sensual kiss
Blowing in the mountain
winds
Twirling, smiling
in love's confusion
In these rarified airs
we engaged
in a conversation
of kisses
delicately soft
Sensual to the slightest touch
Here in such heights
of rarified passion
We were like mountain
climbers
Conquering the sky torn
peak of love's destiny
From the summit, the
whole world was
ours
And then, satisfied beyond
our wildest imaginations
We could speak to the heaven
and say:
And this was love
