Amazingly so . . .
In the whisperings of
the gallery
A sudden silence
And the hand pointed
Saying 'Are you the one?'
To which I replied:
'Yes, I am he'
For I was ready to
tell all
All I knew of life
In those few years
I lived it all
Amazingly so . . .
Reality in the
express lane
Yet every moment
clearly remembered
Fifty years of repression
Life held back by this
and that
And then, to escape . . .
To finally come alive
In so many ways
Doing, seeing, feeling
My mind becoming calmer
all the time
Amazingly so . . .
To finally stand alone
and say:
'Yes, I am alive
and glad to be so'
For in those few years I lived
my entire life
Lost before!
And now I am ready
to live some more
