| Volcano is centainly an amazing addition to Paramount's Kings Dominion's great lineup of coasters. From the first time I rode the coaster (1999) until today it has managed to remain my top #1 thrillride. After boarding the comfortable seating, the track curves to the left 90*. Slowly, the train creeps onto the LIM launch and then, suddenly, you're heading through the mountian at 72 MPH in what feels like a split second. G's are one of my major reasons for enjoying coasters so much and Volcano provides by far the most for the longest duration of any coaster in the country. Around a quick and completely perfectly-engineered banked curve around the back of the mountain, 4.8 g's are pulled for 12 seconds! You then enter the second set of LIMs and enter my second favorite portion of the ride. The train FLYs around a vertical curve and you SOAR through the cave inside the mountain then get blasted out the top through the Immelmann inversion. You have lost most of the speed! but it makes for a terrific view of the park as you curve around the mountian and enter the first roll. I love slower inversions and Volcano has three of them. The train curves around the other side of the mountain and into the second roll (3rd inversion), my favorite, built right into the mountain. Around a curve just beyond 180-degrees, the last roll follows then you dive down an exhilarating drop and into the brakes inside the mountain with plenty of speed to spare. Although the ride's short, I can't imaging any ride topping it for me. I'll just have to ride Millennium Force... -posted by: Blast Coaster 9/29/00 |

I love this ride, yea it's short but it's worth it. I try to ride it every time I go to King's Dominion but don't go on it when its pouring rain 'cause it hurts when you shoot 70 mph. Well the line can be long but ya know how it is if you love to ride 'em, you will love this one! -posted by: john obertubbesing 9/5/00 |

| I gave it 4 stars because its too short like the rest of the rides there. But I loved it. It was an awesome ride. I would have given it 5 stars but i've riden so many coasters and this was just way to short. -posted by: eric 8/25/00 |

| This was one of the scariest rollercoasters I have been on. The 2 hour wait was worth it. I had never been on a "launch" coaster before. What a RUSH! I lost my breath. The barrel rolls and the drop at the end are fantastic. I highly recommend this ride. -posted by: Anonymous 8/20/00 |
