My 1967 Rally Sport Convertible
I don't have any of the original paper work on this car. I don't know how many owners it had, before I got it. But I do know that it still had all the No.'s matching drive train in place and ran! I found this camaro sitting in the back yard of a home in Monrovia, Md. in 1987! Not far from the 75-80 drag strip. It's owners had moved to Florida and planned on comming back for it, but never did. I was able to buy it for $1500 and towed it home. When the tow truck picked it up, (by the front end) it nearly broke in half! The floors were pretty much gone and had some rear frame rail rust. Got it home and realized I had a mess. It sat at my Mom's house for a year (covered) before I could get started on a four year complete restoration.

The 4 year restoration took so long, because this is just a hobby.(Obsession) I would work mostly on weekends in my 3 car garage in Emmitsburg Md., at my home. I spent many hours on sheet metal work. Floor pans; quarter pannels; frame rails; trunk pan; and complete new interior. Purchased most of my parts from "Ricks 1st Generation" in Gerogia.

Car came out of garage in Oct.1991 just in time for my car 1st show at "U.S.MUSCLE" in Westminister Md. All Chevy show, with lots of camaros. I didn't win anything, but I learned a lot about how to show a car.I also purchased a lot of restoration parts from "U.S. MUSCLE" to restore the 67. Thats is where I meet John Hooper, who was the owner of the shop.It is now gone. John is the aurther of a very good book, "The 1969 Camaro Reference book" I used it for reference in my next project, the 69 also on this site. I've shown the 67 off and on for the last nine years. It is always garage kept and isn't really show worthy any more. Just gets driven a lot during the summer months. Still turns a lot of heads.
