Life Bright Installation
The weekend after receiving my Life Bright lights from Life Bright I took a couple of hours and a few pictures. I made a couple of dumb mistakes, mainly of not paying attention so it took me a little longer than it should have.
First off I don’t like to cut and splice wires and I don’t like to permanently attach things to the bike so I bought the plates to attach the lights to the license plate. That said here are a couple of pictures and quick instructions.
The first thing that has to be done is to find the brake switch wire. This was the big mistake I made, I didn’t really read my wiring diagram and originally wired the brake light wire so the "Life Bright" was constantly on. On the Connie this is red. I needed to wire the new lights to the blue wire. My original plan was to remove the wire from the plastic connector housing and wrap the brake light around the bike’s wire, tape them together and then put the wire back in the housing. Well the wires are attached to the casing and will not come out so I took a small screwdriver, one used to fix cameras, and between the wire and the crimp of the connector and ran the new wire in the gap. I then taped the two wires together.

I had originally planned on putting the ground wire on the bike, but after attaching it to a bolt the wire broke so I striped it and attached it to the ground wire of the brake light in the same manor as the positive. On the Connie the ground is black and yellow (I think).
Next I attached the lights to the brackets that attach to the license plate and ran the wires behind the plate to hide them. Looking closely at the picture directly above the plate you can see the wires.

That’s it, the installation was not hard, the big problem is making sure that you don’t connect to the wrong wires, pack it up and then find out they are always on.
