The next day was a rainy one. Bleck. Hopefully it wouldn't last long. Everything was so gloomy when it rained.

It wasn't until around lunch time that Zac mentioned our little "plan".

"Hey"

He approached me as I sat on the floor in front of the television eating a sandwich.

I swallowed and answered "Hey"

"We're still going tonight, right?" He asked me in re-assurence

"Going where?" Melissa asked on the couch above me.

"Nowhere" Me and Zac answered in unison then I turned to him "Yeah. What time though?"

"Five"

I looked at the cable box, it was three o clock.

"OK"

"Zac?" Melissa called him.

He pulled himself up onto the couch next to her "Yes?"

"Can you watch this with me?" Melissa pointed to the television.

"What is it?" he asked, as I looked up at the television. Two very bad teenage actors were standing in front of a house debating wheather to go in or not.

"It's caled Are you Afraid of The Dark and it's really scary"

"Ok, let's watch"

Zac draped his arm around my little sister and sat there with her so she wouldn't get scared.

The scene displayed on the couch was adorable, and I felt bad leaving it - but I had to.

I had to clean my mess in the kitchen and then go upstairs and start to get ready.

As I walked through the double wood doors that let to the kitchen, I regreted doing so.

There was Isaac, sitting at the table watching the mini t.v which rest on the counter.

He acknowledged my presence, but didn't say a word. I spoke first.

"Hi"

"Hey"

"What are you watching?"

"Riki Lake"

"Any good?" Couldn't he see I was trying to start conversation?

"No, just the usual You-stole-my-boyfriend"

"Oh, so any plans for today"

"No"

That was it. "What's with you?"

For the first time he took his eyes off the t.v "What?"

"You heard me"

"Yes, I did" he through me a nasty look "But I don't know what you're talking about"

"Forget you" I said, threw all that needed to be put back in the fridge and left the room.

I'm not really the type of person that likes to start something without finishing it - but with Isaac it was different. He just sruck a nerve and made me act differently from as I would with anyone else.

As five o'clock neared I tried to forget the whole Isaac thing and focus on Zac.

I dressed casual, hoping it wouldn't hint at a thing. I pulled my hair back in a braid, wore my black capri's and a white tank top. That wouldn't hint at anything, right?

The plan was that I would enter the living room as Zac told his mother he was going to go to target. He would then say "Madison can you come? You have the best taste" and then we were off. It was simple.

At five I walked down the stairs and saw Zac sitting on the recliner. He winked at me and stood up.

Taylor, Molly, Diana, Zoey, Mom, Jessica and Isaac were in the room. I wasn't expecting such an audience.

"Mom can we go to Target?"

Diana looked up from Zoe and at her son "Who's we?"

"Me and Madison" Sparing his mother a "why?" Zac went on "I need new trunks and you know, Madison has the best taste"

"No, it's raining" Diana looked back at baby Zoe "Go tomorrow"

Zac shot me a nervous look and I gave him a pathetic smile

He bit his lower lip, and just by that I knew he was nervous.

"Please?"

Not expecting it, Diana looked up.

"No, not tonight. It's raining and I'd rather you two not go, okay?"

"But I need new trunks" I wished he didn't press on, it was making things obvious.

"I doubt you're going to go swimming anytime soon" Diana gestured over to the window "And I said no. Since when do you not listen"

"Mommy?" Five year old Zac walked up to Diana as she and my mom were sitting at the Hanson's kitchen table.

"Yes, sweetheart"

"Can I go in the pool?"

"Not today. Maybe tomorrow"

"Pleeeaassee"

"No, go play in your room"

"But I wanna go swimming" Zachary pressed on.

"What did I tell you and your brothers yesterday"

I looked over at Isaac for a clue as to what they talked about and he come close to my ear

"My mommy told us yesterday that we should always listen to her, cause she knows what's best for us"

I nodded my head in understanding and from that day on I've never seen a Hanson child challenge one of their parents' decisions.

Diana's last question didn't really require an answer and when I saw Zac go to speak, it was me who became nervous.

"Since me and Madison became a couple"

What!
