Syrenia reappears on the hill and yells out at the dwarf..."About time you show up!"
[Valin]: " No, we made it into the mages home a little bit... Then the floor opened and Bilgrom & Balthazar fell in...."
Syrenia makes her way towards the pair, shaking her head all the way.
Valin looks up from his conversation with the dwarf " Oh, hello.... Found him...."
[Jarl]: "I thought you were all dead when no one returned or followed me."
Bilgrom quietly looks over the blind keeping an eye out for anything as well as their items he fancies.
Valin steps aside so Syrenia can properly scold the dwarf
Syrenia looks down at the dwarf..."Us who didn't flee...decide to press on to be sure no other creatures would attack us before we would rest properly and look for those, I mean the one, who ran off."
[Jarl]: "Ok, ok so it wasn't the brightest idea I have ever had but you didn't see what happened back at the hill giant lair. I hear you were in hiding?" Looking upon the lass with a crossed eye.
Syrenia rolls her eyes..."And where were you? You left YOUR group behind because you were bored..."
Valin is looking back and forth between the two as they each make their arguments & points, looking at one while they are speaking, then turning his head to face the other as they begin.
[Jarl]: "I was getting valuable information from the local dwarves in the area!" Mumbling something else as he finishes his words.
Syrenia nods..."While your friends were getting slaughtered...Nice work by the way..."
[Jarl]: "hey I didn't tell them to waste so much time, nor did I tell them to invade an unknown lair. They choose their fate and it hit them with a crushing fist. I just didn't wish to see it happen again."
Traveling while you talk you make your way back to the lair of the ogres with the rest of the group still sitting in wait.
Syrenia shakes her head..."And I thought dwarves we're a courageous race. Thanks for clearing that up...I could've depended on a dwarf one day."
Valin turns his head to look at Jarl, waiting to see what his response will be to such an insult.
Jarl says nothing to that as he makes his way in to check over the others, "Any of you need healing?"
Valin walks over to the others, oblivious to any rocks he steps on, his foot having long been numb.
Jarl makes his way round the others curing those who are in need while they pass the time in rest.
Valin sits next to the blind party members and goes about warming up his foot by rubbing his hands together with it between them, releasing a warm breath over it as well.
Syrenia takes one of her skins off her backpack and takes out her leatherworking tools.
Jarl looks about "I have one cure left anyone else need it?"
Balthazar shakes his head "I am fine, good dwarf."
Syrenia begins to work on her skins, cutting, sowing and working on the sheepskin to make boots.
Balthazar looks at the others... and says with a certain reticence "If I may... What do you plan on doing now?"
Jarl looks over the lass while she works on her hides and notices her wounds. "Well since your to stuck up to ask I’ll give you the last cure so I can get on with my prayers."
Valin removes the 8 metal vials from his pack " Perhaps one of these could cure their affliction.... They are potions; some may have magical healing properties.... Right?"
Syrenia shrugs and continues on her work as he gently touches her.
Elina nods, Yes Bilgrom asked me to check them but with out my sight I don't feel like even trying." As she begins to weep once more.
Syrenia mumbles as she holds her needle between her teeth..."Ask Elina..." Drops her needle from her month..."Ohh...sorry." She picks up her needle slowly and continues on her work.
Balthazar frowns and says "Please, Miss Elina, we must find out what we can do to cure this. Is the promise of vision returned not worth the effort?"
Valin tries to comfort Elina " We'll restore you're sight, I promise we will...."
Elina wipes away the tears trying not to poke her own eye out as she feels about. "Very well where are they?"
Valin hands her the potions one at a time, so she doesn't drop them.
Elina slowly removes the stopper from each one, as she smells them before taking a sip from each one, in attempts to find their properties.
Valin waits quietly and patiently as Elina tries to identify the potions
Balthazar murmurs a few words as he hears the stoppers be removed...
[Elina]: "I believe two are health restorers, as one turns you to gas, three are of a healing nature, one gives you the feeling of youth, while the last one gives you better eye site." As she bursts into tears with the telling of the last one.
Syrenia looks up from her work..."Who's gonna keep them?"
[Balthazar]: "Better eyesight? Is this what we are looking for?"
Valin shrugs " I might as well, I did find them after all...."
Balthazar holds up his hand, probably in the wrong direction, and replies "I believe we should separate evenly amongst the group."
[Valin]: " Elina" he gently pats her on the back, trying to calm her " Would this better eye sight potion restore a blinded person's sight?"
Syrenia shakes her head..."Wouldn't be very efficient...Borathor should have a healing potion in case Jarl can't heal...you might as well have one too..."
Jarl rubs his fingers through his beard, "Well now we have a slight choice to make here. Those two elixir's can cure their blindness as well as other infliction’s, only thing is three are without sight so who gets them?"
Syrenia mumbles between her teeth..."Even the Paladin should have one."
[Balthazar]: "I am willing to forego my sight for now, it is my duty to protect you all and I believe the best way to accomplish that would be to allow them their sight back first..."
Valin shrugs " That settles it..." as he hands one of the healing elixirs to both Elina and Borathor.
Syrenia grins..."Fine by me..." She whispers to her self..."He won't see who kicks him in the shins."
Borathor speaks up "I disagree the fighters should get them to ensure our survival. No offense lass but you remain in the back most of the time any how during battles."
[Valin]: " Yes Borathor, that is a logical point, but, if Balthazar is blind, he is more likely to survive an attack while blind then Elina, so he needs it less...."
Syrenia sighs..."And Elina won't be able to cast her spell without her sight..."
Balthazar stands and crosses his arms, quite contempt leaving the others to grapple with this little problem...
[Borathor]: "Yes, but we lose a fighter in battle to gain a mage with again no offense who has no really strong offensive powers."
Valin hands one of the elixirs to Elina, and the other to Borathor " Just drink it, damn it..."
Elina quickly drinks it before any others change their minds, with almost a greedy look upon her face."
Valin puts the others back in his pack, looking over at Jarl " Will that eye sight improving potion restore someone's eyesight?"
Jarl snickers, " I know not that’s more to the mages realm there."
Balthazar nods to himself and "looks" about
Syrenia shakes her head as she thinks over Valin's question..."I doubt it."
Valin looks down at Elina " Elina, do you know?"
Elina begins to smile once more as she looks about, "I can see again its coming back to me."
Syrenia turns to Elina..."Give the other Elixir of health to Borathor, Elina."
[Elina]: "No it only improves sight to those who have it and it’s only for a short time."
[Balthazar]: shifting his weight to another foot, making a small metallic cling, Bal feels back to find the wall and lean against it
Elina hands the other to Borathor as he drinks it down as well.
[Balthazar]: "What's next? Perhaps the scribing mage has finished his work and would be more willing to speak with us..."
Bilgrom looks about mumbling something to himself as he sees the others getting their sight back.
Syrenia shrugs..."Well then Valin, help her share the healing potions among the fighters."
[Bilgrom]: "That’s what blinded us in the first place when he flashed out in the bright light.
[Balthazar]: "Perhaps he didn't wish to be disturbed."
Valin takes the 3 healing potions, placing the gaseous form & youth & clairvoyance elixirs in his pack, and passes them around.
[Bilgrom]: "That’s a fine way to make sure one isn't."
Valin gives one healing potion to Borathor, and Balthazar.
Balthazar nods in thanks as he fumbles to put the vial in his pack.
Borathor tucks the healing potion away for safekeeping.
Syrenia nods to him as he passes them around, as she goes back to her work.
Jarl goes off to a quiet area to pray while the others are at rest.
Valin returns Syrenia's nod " Something odd.... I still don't know your name, do you feel you can tell us yet?"
Syrenia looks at him with an arched eyebrow..."I already told you and everyone...Syrenia...
Valin takes his healing potion and slips it into a safe place on his person. Going back into the ogre living area to see if the fire is still going.
Moving into the ogre’s den the fire is still burning with a low flame and full of many, amber’s now resting at the bottom of it, where the fire once raged.
Valin warms himself by the dying fire while trying to get it going again, figuring they may be her for awhile.
Passing the time watching Bilgrom hop about and ramble on about UN important things Jarl finishes with his prayers, as Syrenia finishes with her boots.
[Balthazar]: "I think I may try to speak to this scribe... perhaps he has finished, and if he hasn't, I can't be much blinder than I already am..."
Borathor snickers, "Well you have a point, there, Balthazar."
Syrenia looks up at her boots and shrugs..."Not my best work but it will have to do." She puts them on and walks around a little..."Beats having nothing."
Valin calls out to the rest of the party members " The fire is still warm, you guys should move in here, it's warmer."
Syrenia puts away her remaining skin and her tools back in her backpack and then looks around at the resting group..."What now folks?"
Balthazar shakes his head "We can't stay here forever... guide me to this man and I shall try to speak to him again. I hate to give up like this, it is not the way of Fustidio."
Borathor gets up, from his resting spot, to stretch. "Well we make our way back and try again or go through the passage we found."
Syrenia taps a finger on her month as she thinks over the situation..."I think we should just go in the door I opened and forget about the writings."
