[Sat Aug 18 20:09:55 GMT 2001]

Isreal stops in the street before the inn, "Damn that's right he went away to see friends." Quickly turning to make his way back to the inn with the others. Making his way back over to the table with the others, "If we want them identified we have to do it ourselves."

Zakren shakes his head drinking at the table, "Well guess we will never know then if that's the case." Laughing as he swallows down his ale.

[Ston]: While sitting in the tavern, Ston observes the atmosphere as if judging it in some way. He frowns and grunts incoherently, but says nothing. He takes out a piece of jerky from a small pouch on his side and begins to chew it, his attention finally settling on Russeth. "So, will everyone be going to look for the boat I heard you speak of?" He sits and waits for a response as if interested in traveling.

[Jarl]: "well, why ye be thinking on it, me needs to go to the smithy and take with me kin" he gets up from the table "It's the Double Axe smithy just down the road, me be back as fast as me can" he heads out the door

Russeth puts his bottle back upon the bar and leans against it. "Well I guess Elina can take care of it then. I'm not sure what you need else to cast your spell but, I'm sure you can find it. Before tonight?" He rubs his chin and makes himself comfortable against the bar, turning his attention back upon Ston, "We might as well do that. We have almost a month left to make our way to the mountains."

Malakai orders another mug of milk, taking a seat near the others and just remains quiet, sipping his breakfast.

[Elina]: "Well if there is some owl feather, I will be able to know something from those objects." Saying as she heads out of the inn once more, looking for a pet shop of sort.

Ston looks puzzled at the mention of a time limit. He looks back to Russeth with a curious face and replies, "What Mountains and what business do you have there?"

Russeth raises an eyebrow as he watches Elina depart from the inn and spins upon his stool to face Ston, "I thought we had already discussed the case with ye. The deal is that we have, we must retrieve the piece of a staff important to a mage that lives in the forest we met. Give me a moment to remember the name of the said mountains." He scratches his head as he goes into deep thoughts.

Russeth nods to himself, as he seems to figure out, "Aaah right the Earthspur Mountains, across the reach."

Ston chews down another piece of jerky while still observing the area. He seems to be very alert of his surroundings as if uneasy in the establishment, nodding to Russeth as he listens. "I don't believe we discussed this before this day." His eyes widen at the mention of the Earthspur Mountains and he then pulls out another bite of jerky from his side. "I heard those mountains are the most dangerous around and have the respect of all who have dared enter them."

Zakren snickers, "Mountains Heh we will all drown on the way, I hate boats." Propping his feet up upon an empty chair.

Russeth nods back at Ston as he is done. "Well I haven't heard from these mountains either, but only by knowing a mage resides in its depths already warns me of the possible dangers of the place. If ye say it is even more dangerous, then I am eager to go visit." He smiles and widens his eyes briefly, after what he reaches into his plate and munches on some fried beast. "We'll wait for Elina to come back with the components for her spells. Then we can rest for the night. Or whatever." He tosses the bones back into the plate and wipes his hands.

Elina returns half an hour later. "Found those owl feather." Turning to the barmaid as she smiles to her self. "May I have a glass of wine?" Saying as she takes a seat besides Russeth and starts copying her spellbook.

Russeth pats Zakren on the shoulder and wipes it upon his shoulder as he retracts it. "Don't worry Zakren, you've got one nice captain with ye. Aye, matey!" Using a pirate's voice he bursts into laughter as he sits back in his seat.

Ston pulls a waterskin that was dangling from his belt and takes a large drink from it allowing a lot of water to flow onto his chest. He looks up with a satisfied expression and nods to Russeth. " So, this mage you are getting the staff for is he a friend of yours or is he paying you? I don't mean to pry, but it just seems odd to me that you would go to such lengths for someone you had just met in the middle of the woods."

Delora looks across the bar at the lass, and shakes her head before returning to cleaning some mugs.

Russeth bites his lower lip as he listens to Ston and rubs his belly. He places his hands behind his head as he takes a minute of reflection and sighs. He stands up from his chair quickly and pulls it closer to the table after what he sits himself back and leans over the table, speaking in a lower voice as to not draw attention, "Well. It is odd I know. But well, that's our deal with that other mage back in the Velarwood. Either we helped him or. It was death for all of us. Now we have 26 days left to retrieve his staff by whatever means, or he'll come get us." Reaches into his mouth and picks his teeth with his nail, and then sits back in his chair.

Ston belches sending tiny shards of meat across the tavern. He wipes his mouth and stands while laughing. He stretches a moment and then looks to Russeth, "Why does this mage threaten you?"

Jarl returns to the tavern and sets back down at the table a small bag over his shoulder "so did ye decide or finds a way to tell what these magic’s are?" he points to his armor

Kirarae looks about the bar, "well you can talk all night if you like but I’m off to bed I’ll see you all in the morning." Gets up and makes his way to the bar where he pays for a room. Then heads off up the stairs.

Russeth sighs deeply as he places his hands yet again behind his heads, "Aaah. Many, many questions ye have." He smiles and closes his eyes; "Well it's quite simple. Back in Velarsburg we were told this mage, Tormaq, used to live in the forest, but that they weren't sure he was still alive or whatever." He shrugs as he reopens his eyes wide, "Appears he is still alive. And we accidentally killed his stone giant and troll friends. Now in order to repay, we have to retrieve his staff. Or else." He leaves the last sentence to imagination.

Elina ignores her companions and her beloved chatters as she bends her head over her books in deep concentration, brushing back her beautiful honey gold hair when it falls over her face with her left hand. A glow seems to radiate from her smooth, fair face, unmarked even by the days of travel through the foul woods and clashes with the creatures within them. Moving her right hand furiously as she duplicates one spell to another between her books, doing each spell with such precise writing in beautiful words which seems like an art work to those who knows nothing about the ancient arcane language.

Russeth nods at Kirarae, "I'll be following ye soon most likely. I was hoping we'd get those magic items taken care of but oh well." He glances briefly at Elina and smiles as he watches her scribe a duplicate of her spellbook.

Jarl strokes his beard "so then do we leave in the morn, to go find ye boat?"

Ston nods while still standing there and after a brief moment he smiles. "Well, that sounds ok to me and I sense you are a good man, so I will trust you. I am looking forward to traveling with you all."

Russeth blinks a couple of times showing a little sign of fatigue he leans in towards Elina and watches her work, "Will you be done soon, dear?" Hoping not to disturb her.

Jarl finishes his drink, after not hearing any reply to his question; he gets back up from the table "well just come and get me before you leave, will be at the Double Axe smithy. I trust ye knows its location" he waves good night, as he leaves the building

Elina does not seem to her any sound. Her concentration is so deep; not even a blast of fireball can disturb her.

Ston looks for the barmaid and waves his hand to get his or her attention. He then takes another drink from his waterskin.

Delora looks over and waves back as she gives a slight smirk while cleaning the mugs.

Russeth covers a yawn with his right hand as he sits back in his chair, "Well I guess I'll be heading to my room now, she still has the key to another room so she's fine." He notices Ston calling the barmaid and shrugs as he stands up and makes his way over to the bartender, quickly renting a second room for himself he makes his way up the stairs and disappears.

Ston laughs at Delora and then replies in a broken tone, "I wish to purchase a room for the evening."

Delora smiles, "That is not a problem sir they are only a few copper if you like one come and get the key." Mumbling about being someone’s servant as she finishes with her cleaning.

Ston nods to the woman while taking a key. He then quickly goes and checks his horse in the stable before going to the room and resting for the rest of the night.

Malakai finishes his meal & milk, then leans back in his seat, releasing a contently sounding sigh. " I like this place..." he mumbles, more thinking aloud then really speaking to anyone. Standing slowly, he walks over to the bar, and speaks up politely to the barmaid Delora " I'd like to rent a room for the night, how much are they?"

Zakren yawns and gets up to stretch, "Well I’m off with a date with a warm bed see you in the morning." Turns and heads for the rooms.

Delora makes her way over to Malakai with a key they are 5 copper a night sir."

Isreal follows not far behind Zakren to going off to bed.

Malakai smiles " Here ya go" he gladly pays the seemingly insignificant amount of copper.

Malakai accepts the key and nods to Delora, and anyone else still up " See you in the morning" he says, as he ascends the stairs and hits the hay.

Barkeep you awake to the sounds of the barkeep banging on your doors, "Time to get up and check out or back in." Yelling along as he pounds upon the doors.

[Russeth]: Not long after Russeth comes out of his room half-asleep, his hair is shuffled and his eyes semi closed. He stumbles down into the main room and lets himself fall upon a chair sighing deeply.

Ston makes his way out of his room shortly after the rude banging. He is carrying his saddle packs and normal gear. He grunts as he makes his way towards the stable area.

While making your way down to the bar you see Elina still sitting in the bar while the others make their way down.

Elina looks at her love's shuffled hair UN-amused. "Well darling, did you rest well? Maybe you can get me some wine? The barkeep seems offended by me somehow and refuses to talk to me."

Malakai emerges from his room, mumbling something about soft beds for soft, weak backs. After he grumbles a bit, he goes down stairs and sees what meals the establishment has available on this morning.

Russeth sighs, "Huh. That seems strange..." He runs an hand through his hair to place them slightly and sighs as he leans in the bar, "Say Delora. You got some wine?"

Barkeep looking across at Russeth "Delora is off folks don't work all day long, and no there is no wine here and I’m sure she told you this if you had asked her, we haven't had wine in weeks now."

Elina rubs her eyes sleepily as she tries to keep awake. Sighing, she places her head upon Russeth's shoulders and falls asleep upon his firm shoulders.

Zakren looks about the inn, "Well everyone is here can we get going now or what? I think we are to meet Jarl at the smithy."

Russeth shrugs as he walks away, "Aye. We can leave whenever you want." He puts on his cloak and attaches it around his neck and stands by the door.

With Russeth getting up to leave sends Elina to the floor as her weight rested upon his shoulder.

Isreal laughs, "Man you’re in trouble now that's going to leave a mark." Laughing as he makes his way outside.

Malakai looks over as Elina falls to the floor, walking over to offer her assistance up, if she needs any.

[Ston]: After putting the saddle and pack on his horse, Ston moves around to the front of the establishment, where he waits in the street standing beside his horse. He seems to be talking to it while petting it on the head. His horse is well groomed and healthy in appearance.

Elina awake by the rude, sudden movement. "What?" Finding her self upon the floor. Picking herself up, she brushes dirt off her dress and pouts at Russeth. "What’s with you Russeth?" Nodding her thanks at Malakai, she gathers her stuff and heads out the inn.

Malakai exits the inn as well, stretching a bit upon reaching the outside light. Looking up at the sky, he tries to find the sun to determine roughly what time it is, he also takes a second to look for any obvious weather conditions in the near future

Zakren smells the fresh morning air while he looks about the sleepy village awaking to a new day," The smithy is this way so lets go get the dwarf and move on."

Russeth straightens his armor and places his belt correctly as he is definitely awake and looks up at Elina, "What's with the falling asleep on me as I walk away?" He nods to Zakren and motions Elina to go first.

Elina frowns and ignores Russeth. "We should try and find Mord. He still awaits his money to build his temple."

Isreal snickers, "Maybe if she went to bed like the rest of us instead of staying in the bar all night she wouldn't be so sleepy." Tagging along from behind as he follows the others to the smithy.

Russeth shakes his head as Elina moves in front of him. "I'm sure Zakren already paid him his due."

Ston gets on his horse with a single vault. The motion is quick and in no time flat his horse is in a slow trot along side of Zakren. Ston looks around the street as he steadily moves down the road.

Elina raises and eyebrow at Zakren. "May I know where he is? I have something which I need to ask him."

You reach the smithy in no time at all as several dwarves can be seen working the forge from within the barn.

Russeth glances at Elina as he moves aside with them quickly, "No idea really."

[Elina]: "Zakren do you know where Mord is?"

Jarl comes walking out once someone tells of how is outside. He waves good by to those inside the smith, after which he places his armor back on "bout time, didn't thinks we were leaving today"

Zakren turns to look at Elina, "He is on the other side of town down the road in a small wooden shack, you should have went when I did the other day now we are leaving."

Ston stops his horse with a gentle nudge as he listens to the conversation going on. He then simply sits atop the beast and looks around enjoying the day. "What a glorious day we have ahead of us. I can feel that the wheels are turning in our favor."

Elina shakes her head at Zakren. "I wasn't ready with my spellbook which I needed to pass to him. Can I meet up with you at the dock?"

Jarl looks to the lass then to Russ "did ye all have a wild night. Russ keeping ye up all night is he lass?"

Russeth nods at Jarl as he rubs the back of his neck. "Why do you need to make a copy of your spell book? We are not going at the docks. We are heading towards Scarsdale."

Elina looks at Jarl and sighs. "If it was that wonderful. Seems like Russeth has turn mean upon I.' Wiping a tear from the corner of her eyes as she speaks.

Malakai keeps alongside the group, and looks up at Ston " It is going to rain..." he points up at the clouds overheard " I can feel it..."

Russeth rolls his eyes as he steps in with the others. He glances at Elina then back at the smith's house. "I guess we can wait."

Ston looks down to Malakai and then smiles, "Rain is the tears of the gods to cleans the ground."

Malakai nods " It also keeps the air clear of dust..."

[Ston]: "That it does..."

Jarl shakes his head "and me thought it was just water. Hmm?"

Elina nods and makes her way as quickly as she can, looking for Mordineon's shack.

Jarl "aye, we gots more time to kill do we? Well I'll just run in and ask if anyone knows anything of if we have any kin in those Earthspur Mountains"

Zakren shakes his head, "You know what when you are ready to go on come get me at the bar it seems we are not getting anywhere so I’m getting drunk." Bitching and mumbling about taking care of business yesterday like the rest of them.

Ston looks over at Jarl and smiles down at him from way above him. "Ah, another close minded dwarf. Who could imagine running into one of you." His tone is sarcastic and the follows with a laugh while still sitting on his horse.

[Jarl]: "way, did we divide up that loot that we found yet?"

Isreal looks about as Zakren leaves, why didn't she just leave her book here at Jarl's place? Does it make a difference?"

Jarl smiles "better closed mind then a big head"

Russeth watches Zakren leave and shakes his head as he shouts, "Oh you're definitely helping."

Malakai smiles a bit " This is sure a close knit group you have yourself here...."

Zakren throws his arms in the air as he walks back to the inn letting Russeth’s words fall on deaf ears.

Jarl runs into the smithy, not caring to hear the big headed Paladin's reply "Hey, we gots anything on the Earthspur Mountains maps or kin or anything?"

Russeth stomps his feet on the ground as he sighs. "This is darn ridiculous. Why does he go to the inn that moron? We were gonna leave any second. Someone go get him!"

You stand in front of the smithy for an hour or so with no sign of Elina coming down the street.

Jarl comes back out "nope, nothing on that area. If ye needing some mountain gear, this might be the place and time to get ye some. Best prices and the best in the area. Dwarven made ye knows"

Isreal shakes his head as he leans against the wall, "You know Russeth you really need do to something with your woman this is a waste of time."

Russeth sighs, "How great now. She isn’t back yet. And she didn't even know where she was headed. Plus I bet that copy of her book is never even gonna be used. It’s all a big waste of time if you want my idea."

Malakai looks over at Jarl, still smiling widely from Russeth's childish display " Jarl, couldn't your armor’s friends identify this suit from your friend Hawk?" he motions to the plate he is wearing.

Malakai looks over at Russeth " Do you want to know how they used to solve domestic problems in my tribe, back home?"

Ston waits patiently, now beside his horse. He places a feed bag over its face and then pets it while looking around at the shops.

Russeth shrugs, "We got plenty of time to kill. Just go ahead while we try to find her." He shakes his head constantly as he starts making his way up the road.

Jarl shacks his head no "we can only tell you the make quality, unless it was Dwarven cast or crafted, which I can tell ye it isn't"

Two hours have past Zakren drinks at the inn as Isreal and Kirarae go to join him the rain has begun to fall about you in a light drizzle. There is still no sign of Elina.

Malakai walks alongside Russeth, helping his search for his significant other " It is really an efficient practice... "

Russeth shrugs as he continues his way, "Useless. I'd rather just have headed to Scarsdale we didn't need this."

Jarl looks to Russ, "how long it take to get to that shack and back? My lord the gods are even crying"

Russeth shrugs at Jarl, "I don't know I'm not the one who went."

[Jarl]: "think, we should go looking for the lass?"

[Malakai]: " The wife & husband would be tied together at the wrist, in their free hands they would wield hand axes. Then, the pair would be find and kill an adult kodiak, still tied together. It would show that the gods that they were still meant to be together, and they'd get over the issue." he shrugs " Doesn't help you & Elina, does it."

[Ston]: "This is a big place and either she is lost or indoor by now. How will we find her?"

Jarl looks to all that are still here "lets get Zak and the others at the Inn. He knows the way the Lass should have went"

Malakai nods in agreement " She'd know to meet us back there, since we won't be at the smithy."

Another hour has past as morning as turned to late morning with a glimpse of the sun here and there high in the sky between the clouds.

Ston nods to Jarl and then looks for the inn in which Zak went to.

Jarl walks into the Inn "Zak. Take us to the shack you went to that the Lass were, heading for. She has not returned"

Russeth simply stands at the crossroads just watching in the distance, "She'll most likely come back here at some point. It’s been three hours she's on the same road. I would've come back a while before."

Zakren sits at a table half toasted with Isreal and Kirarae, "She wastes more damn time screwing with her spells then any I have met thus far. I surprised she isn't 1000 years old by now."

[Jarl]: "well. Maybe, but we need to get finding her. Ye ain’t helping by sitting here yipping"

Isreal stands with the others, 'Still don't see why she just didn't leave it at the dwarfs place make no sense to go see someone who has been gone for such a time."

Zakren looks up and makes his way out side screw her she isn't under the quest, like the rest of us she has time to waste we don’t. We could have been half way to Scardale by now but no where are we still in this little dung hole of a village."

You make your way cross town where you see Russeth standing before three roads one going north and two going south.

Jarl looks again at Russ "did Elina make it back yet?"

Russeth has started whistling a very slow tune.

About an hour or so later a lone figure walks up the road from the south as the rain begins to pour down from its recent drizzle.

Zakren looks to the sky, "Well isn't this just swell now we will be wet for the rest of the day." Kicking a rock across the mud-ridden trail.

Elina frowns with frustration, as she is soaked to the bones. "Well you could have told me which road to take. It would have make it faster for me."

Zakren looks at the lass and shakes his head and begins down the south road without a word.

Malakai follows Zakren, saying nothing as well.

Elina follows Zakren without another word.

Jarl smile "never fear Zakren it isn't water it is the tears of the gods, what more could one ask for" he looks to Ston "right old boy?"

Russeth shrugs as he watches them leave, he keeps a distance between the rest of the others as he walks alone, staring ahead.

Getting a good rest and provisioning yourself once more for the road you make you way out of Harrowdale en-route to Scardale, and the Sea Drake. With the morning light now gone the afternoon has brought with it, rain and a brisk wind out of the northwestern plains. Malakai's predictions seem to be correct. You estimate your travel to Scardale's to be no more then a day and half travel if everything goes smoothly and no sidetracks from beasts or any other distractions.

Elina opens her duplicate spellbook and check to see if her spells have not smeared by the rain.

Ston nods to Jarl as he rides along on his horse trying to stay out of the mud.

Russeth speeds his pace up as time passes and reaches with the others; he wraps himself with his cloak and places the hood up on his head, covering himself from the rain. "Well this doesn't bode well. But we'll do with it, let's hope it stops before the night." He sighs and continues staring ahead at the deformed road.

Malakai sighs, " I always liked the rain... I never saw it as a child, thought it was a myth..." he looks up at the sky, letting the rain fall down onto his face.

Jarl rubs his hands together and blows on them every now-and-then "why Malakai, can you tell me when the gods are going to quit crying?"

You travel most of the day where the sun has begun to set in relative peace when you crest a small rolling hill to see an encampment of about ten tents and some 15 wagons pulled off the trail. A large bonfire burns in the center area of the tents, lighting up the area for you so see several folks dancing and drinking and singing around it in the mud. The livestock of horses and cows are penned up on the western side of the camp away from the tents some 50 yards. The fire seems to burn brightly being quite large to burn through the rains.

Russeth has a sudden burst of laughter as he looks up at the sky, "Yeah. The gods are crying cause they want us to rid the world of evil, but instead we're just looking for a boat." He smiles to himself under his cloak and wraps himself tighter, while paying attention to the fire.

Malakai looks over at Jarl, smiling " I'm not sure, but, it isn't going to stop soon, that much I know...."

Russeth points to the encampment with interest, "Perhaps we could get shelter there for the night." He glances at the others briefly and then back to the bonfire.

Jarl softly hums an old tune but the past kings of the lost kingdoms as he walked

Elina kicks stones in her path, sending them flying ahead, frowning fiercely as her hair falls limply over her face.

Zakren turns back "We have our own tents why stop with them and waste even more time? I think we should just move on a bit then camp for the night, besides those types of folks are not very trustworthy."

Jarl looks on "sounds like an idea to me, they be needing our protection from bandits most likely if they keep a fire like that going all night"

Russeth sighs, "Or perhaps we should just continue without sleeping until we get to Scardale, and there we can all sleep. At the same time."

Jarl looks again at that group of campers "what type is that?"

Malakai nods in agreement with Zakren " That is exactly why we don't want to stay with them, Jarl... That fire will attract a lot of attention, most likely unwanted...."

Elina sighs with frustration. "Lets just continue on through the night as you are short of time." Saying as she continues upon the road ahead.

Russeth shrugs as he looks around at his comrades, "Alright. Then we continue." With no further indications he continues walking south.

[Jarl]: "But, that is why we should stop by and even stay with them the night. To protect those that are unknowing. Would that not be the good thing to do?"

Russeth points back to the camp and sighs, "You think 10 wagons full of people can't defend themselves?"

Malakai follows Russeth & Elina, continuing on the road to Scarsdale " Maybe, Jarl... But it may not be best thing, for us..."

[Jarl]: "not against a group of trained bandits. No, do you?"

[Elina]: "It is a noble thing to do, but a band that size should be able to fend for themselves." Saying as she continues to kick stones in her way.

Zakren laughs "15 wagons."

Jarl shrugs "not be on my head then, when we come back and find their remains burned and beating" continuing to walk on, looking back at there camp every now and then.

Leaving the caravan behind as they to the north you move south towards Scardale. Traveling for several hours you finally see the outskirts of a small walled town within this steep-sided gorge known locally as the scar. The town of Scardale lies at the mouth of the river Ashaba. Approaching closer you see some areas of the north and northwestern walls are in ruin and razed to the ground, the trail turns to makes its way around to the western side of town. Very few lights can be seen coming from the buildings as it is now late in the night to early morning having marched on through most of the night.

Elina manages a smile at Jarl. "If anything happens to them, we will never know when we come back."

Malakai nods at Jarl " Not on any of our heads, we are not responsible for the results of the careless actions of others."

Russeth pays little attention to the ruins to the north as he takes the turn. "Here we are. I wonder if the inn is even still open at that time of the night."

Following the trail you make your way round to the west gate wear guards stand checking papers and cargo on folks entering and leaving the area. Making your way up and getting in a short line with about 4 ahead of you, you stand and wait your turn. The guards seem to be giving the merchant in the front a hard time about something.

Jarl just grunts in reply "they called me closed..."

Finally getting up to the gate you are held by the guard "Papers please," He asks as you approach.

Malakai shakes his head and slaps the dwarf on the shoulder " No, they should have called you sensible...."

Russeth looks the guard up and down, then takes out the deed to the Sea Drake, he subtly reads the name of the owner then shows it to the guard, "We've come to retrieve our ship, sir. We will not be spending much time here."

Jarl smiles "finally. Someone understands. There is another with some smarts amongst us. Right lass?"

[Guard]: "No papers, then how long are you planning to stay here in Scardale? Let me see the papers you have from your town." Waiting patiently for you to dig threw your belongings to find your papers. Sighs turning to look to another guard, "You know it never fails you think they would have them ready. Please step aside until you find them." As he waves the folks up from behind you. While you stand there digging out papers that you don't have you see hear the guards ask the man ahead of you for papers. The man replies he has none and pays the guard several gold coins as he is let inside the town. He then looks back to you all "Find those papers yet?" Looking you all over as the next townsfolk approaches him and shows a piece of paper before being let in.

Malakai says nothing, thinking ' Papers? What are these papers he speaks of?' he takes a quick look at the others to see if they have any idea what this guard is talking about.

Elina smiles at Jarl. "Well I am not sure about being smart."

Zakren steps up "I have no papers to this town sir. We are from the north Harrowdale."

Guard makes his way back to you. "I take it you have no papers to show do you. The fee is 10 gold per week to enter town if you have no coins then be on your way your holding up the line of the decent folk who wish to make their way into town." Turning to Zakren as I said pay up or be on your way".

Elina approaches the guard and pays a few gold coins. "I am from Moonshae isle. I do not have any papers."

Jarl looks to the guard "Hey, there lad, me gots no papers, me only wants to find a boat to take as to the other side of the bay"

Russeth reaches down his pocket and takes out 10 coins he places in the guard's hands. "I guess we'll have to do it this way." He looks the guard up and down as he walks in and looks back at Zakren.

Guards collect the coins from the lass and the others and are given a slip good for a week, at which time you are allowed to enter.

Malakai pays 3 gold coins " I am only staying two days..."

Jarl looks to the guard "how much for two days?"

Guard looking at Malakai and Jarl, " I said its 10 gold pieces for a week there is nothing less then that regardless of the amount of time you spend here during that week."

Jarl hands him three coins as well "thanks ye, kindly" looking at the guard "are ye of the city watch or even with the city at all? Me didn't think that this city was a closed city, when did this come about?"

Guard waits patiently for the rest of the coins before Jarl and Malakai are allowed to enter.

Russeth sighs as he watches his friends still in the back, "Pay him the due!"

Malakai sighs, and extends his hands " You see, there is this thing..." he makes an agitated gesture " I'm paying three gold coins for 2 days. If one week were 10 gold, 1 day would be under gold and a half. Two days, would be a little bit under 3, this is a good deal for you...."

Russeth raises an eyebrow at Jarl, "Don't mess with people around here."

Guard shakes his head and throws the 6 coins back at the two, "Next!" he calls out as the folks behind you step up to get in out of the rains.

Jarl walks off along the outer wall to the north.

Russeth taps his foot as he waits on the other side of the wall for the others; he glares impatiently at Jarl and Malakai trying to have a deal and shakes his head. "Those two don't deal with guards very often."

Guard lifting his head to the Jarl and Malakai and his words, "I suggest you be on your way unless you wish to see the inside of the dungeon."

Elina smiles at Russeth. "Well maybe we can go to the inn and wait for them there."

[Jarl]: "come lad, seems someone has his undies in a bunch"

Malakai shakes his head as he follows Jarl along the wall " It would have been easier to just kill them..." he mumbles " And what is a dungeon?"

Isreal shakes his head after paying and inside the gate, "Heh and you say I’m the greedy one." Laughing as he looks about the town.

Russeth shakes his head; "They don't know their way around the town is not that small. We’ll wait for them."

Jarl continues on along the outer wall till he gets to the next opening or station

Elina nods and starts playing with a copper piece, running it upon the back of her fingers, making it disappear and reappear in between her fingers.

With that over you make your way into town many taverns and inns dot the town as you stroll to the center of town passing by a fountain of four diving dolphins. While waiting on the others to get into town some how or another.

[Elina]: "Darling maybe we can get the boat and have them meet us by the coast later."

Russeth shrugs as he looks over at Elina, "Sorry for being rude this morning, dear." He steps closer to her and smiles as he grabs her hands into his. "Perhaps we should just go to the inn then. What do you think?"

You two make your way round the northern wall where you can see it has been knocked down in past raids or shoddy building which ever may apply. Looking beyond the wall you several homes and dark tight streets.

Malakai looks over at Jarl " Shall we?"

[Elina]: "Its ok. I didn't take it to heart." Saying as she grabs his as he grabs hers. "Yes it might be best if we make it to an inn."

Jarl walks on "maybe this is the way in. yes we shall" smiling.

Russeth being in his hometown leads them around a few corners, he passes a bridge and gives a quick look at the waters flowing below, he smiles and nods to himself as he makes his way across. Not long later you find yourself in front of a large building entitled as the Dragon point Inn; "The docks are a few buildings away to the north so we'll be close for tomorrow."

Peering beyond the wall you see a couple of guards to the left of the hole standing under a roof perched out from the side of a building. They appear to be drinking and talking about something among themselves.

Making your way towards the docks. Within no time at all you find yourself standing by the waters as the town spreads out to the north and south you can see a bridge crossing over the waters connecting the two sides of the town that have been built on opposite sides of the Ashaba River. Out before you the harbor sits bustling with merchants and sailors loading and unloading goods from many different vessels along the docks that jut out from land into its waters. Even in the night the docks appear to be as busy as any you have seen during the day.

Elina nods at Russeth. "Is there any place here that sells magic scrolls? Maybe a shop or in the black market?"

Jarl looks about the area before just walking through it " me thinks it good. But we will need to head to the docks and wait for the others, maybe a harbor master's building or something"

You slip in through the hole in the wall as you try and sneak by the guards in attempts to make it to the docks.

Russeth browses around, close to the docks, for a shipyard to the best of his memory. "We'll inquire about that Sea Drake already. It’ll be done."

Malakai moves low, hoping the rain hitting the ground muffles any noises he does make.

Jarl walks on like nothing in the matter, heading for what he hopes is the dock area

Elina nods at Russeth as she takes everything into her memory about his hometown.

Russeth makes his way over close to the Dragon point Inn to the dock master, "I think this should be the place to find out information about the boat." He sighs as he enters the building.

As you make your way back to the right to the dock master Jarl and Malakai come strolling down the main road.

Russeth smiles as he watches Jarl and Malakai stroll by, "Over here sneakers."

Elina smiles at Jarl and Malakai. "Glad you made it."

Jarl stops to ask a local something as the man points down the docks.

Malakai nods " It wasn't easy, it was a path filled danger, intrigue, and the occasional bit of peace... We snuck through a hole in the wall..."

Jarl looks to the voice "aye, this town wasn't under any true rule when me kin came by here the first time. And the city was free to roam as one wished or dared"

Elina laughs at Malakai's humor. "Well I shall call you a rat then."

Malakai smiles " Thank you.... The rat is a quick, agile and stealthy animal, I would like to be compared to one as such...."

Russeth shrugs once he is done listening to Malakai and Jarl, "Alright now let's find out about the boat and get some rest. Then we'll see to the boat!"

Making your way down to the last pier you come to a small shack that looks out on the mouth of the harbor. There is a small sign that hangs on the door that reads "open" in several different tongues. Making your way inside you see a human male dressed in leather pants and a ruffled shirt. His face is all but covered by a beard that falls tangled upon his chest. He is going through some charts and papers upon his desk behind a counter that stands before you. As he makes his way to the counter you see a gem encrusted pommel of a long sword hanging from his right side.

[Jarl]: "me thinking those two at the hole in the wall were mere thugs trying to take everyone’s coin"

Elina smiles at Malakai. "You are strange." Giggling as she stands before the shack.

[Harbor Master]: "Good day something I can help you with?" Turning making his way over to the counter before you.

Jarl looks to the man "nice blade ye gots there"

Russeth coughs and rubs his chin, trying to draw the attention of the human. Once he has it he gives a warm smile as he takes out the boat deed, "I am looking to gain possession of this boat." He points to the deed and hands it over to the man.

[Harbormaster]: "Yes it is anything I can do for you?" Taking the deed he begins to read over it. "Hmm, there is a work order attachment to this, if this ship still floats you should be able to find it over at the shipwrights guild. Across the harbor there." Pointing out the window across the harbor to a small pier that runs out along the shoreline to make a smaller harbor with in a harbor. "Anything I can assist you with before I head out to make my rounds?" Staring at you intently waiting for a response.

Elina enters the shack and smiles at the man over the counter.

[Jarl]: "did ye makes it yourself?"

[Harbormaster]: "Of course not I took it off a dead guy. If I could make such an item I wouldn't be working here." Laughing as he makes his way round the counter.

Jarl nods "thanks" and heads back out the door

[Elina]: "Is there a map we may purchase about the area in this region?"

[Harbormaster]: "Well then I bid you good day as I must go and inspect the docks." Taking the open sign off of the door he replaces it with one that reads "doing rounds" also in several different languages.

Malakai nods at the fellow " Any chance of you willing to part with it, trade, or gold? "

Jarl stands outside to doorway 'nope"

Harbormaster laughs, "Nah I do not think so lad I have had it a long time and it’s a trusted blade. You can pick some maps up at the shipwrights or return here in the morning for them." Looking at the lass.

Malakai nods " Alright, good night, sir."

Elina walks out of the door quickly, not wanting to delay the human's time. "Thank you very much sir." Curtseying as she passes him.

Malakai exits to join those who have exited, outside.

[Harbormaster]: "Have a good day" the man starts his inspection as he looks over the boats and ships in port making sure there are no port hogs.

Jarl begins to walk towards the shipwrights area "so now we get to look at ye boat. 'If she still floats' that can't be good".

Russeth sighs as he walks quickly, "I should've guessed the boat would be here, Heh." He smiles finally as he shows the way on the left to the shipwright.

Elina smiles at Jarl. "Well we will know in a few wouldn't we?" saying as she heads towards the shipwright guild.

Making your way across the harbor you arrive at a shipyard where you can see several ships and boats tied together as some are laid up on shore in dry dock. Workers can be seen all over the area milling new beams and masts, while other hang new rigging. Six buildings line this area all different sizes. Making your way into the yard you see the first building you approach is the office of the shipwrights.

Russeth nods to him self as he enters the office, "Should be there." He smiles once he is inside and looks for someone to talk to.

Jarl looks at the boats "bet this won't be cheap"

You make your way inside to see a small cluttered office of rolled up papers and plans for several ships while others are plastered all over the walls. Two men can be seen arguing over some plans that they are trying to prepare for a ship.

Elina stands besides Russeth and waits for him to speak.

Russeth extends his arm before himself while holding the unrolled plan up. "I'm looking for the person to talk to, to regain possession of my ship?"

Shipwright then stops arguing and looks up over to you. "Yes what can I do for you this fine morning?" Making his way towards you.

Jarl stands outside the door looking at the workers, working on the ships

[Shipwright]: "Hmm let me see your papers" taking them and reads them over. "So you're the owners of the Sea Drake, about time you showed up another moon and you would of forfeit the vessel." Taking the papers he goes over to a small desk and begins digging through some charts and papers. "Ahh here we go" pulling a paper from the desk he makes his way back to you.

[Elina]: "Might we purchase some maps of the area if you have them?" Smiling at the man as she speaks.

Russeth nods to the man, turning to his friends with a reassured look and turning back as the man approaches, "Aye. It’s been a while but we have been quite busy inland." Smiling widely as he turns to Elina, "Ah. Read my mind, dear."

Shipwright reading over it he looks up " We have fixed everything that was in need of repair making a total of 1,672 gold pieces for repairs and supplies. But I'm sure you knew this when you brought the wreck in, in the first place. Come I'll show you the ship." Going over to the other man he adds a little more to their argument before making his way round to you and the front door. "Yes we have maps lass, I can show you some later when we get back." Coming around the counter he goes outside.

Jarl will follow the man and Russ as they leave the building and head for the ship

[Shipwright]: "The Drake has been here for sometime I hope you have the money for its repairs?" Looking back at you as he leads you along the pier to a bunch of vessels tied together. "Well there she is" pointing out to a small ship with bluish trim. "When ever your ready to square up on her she is ready to go."

Elina nods. "Do you accept payments with gems? Or is they’re anywhere around where gems may be sold?"

Russeth nods to the man as he follows, a lot of ideas running through his mind he seems confused. "Most likely aye. I have an offer to make you however; I would be ready to pay in gems. Or perhaps you could help us find a jeweler to sell our gems in order to pay you the due? I haven't brought my whole wealth."

[Shipwright]: "Go on you may board it and take a look at the work, I'll be in the office when you are ready to square up for the vessel. Gems will do fine lass." With a slight bow he turns and makes his way back towards the office.

Russeth nods to the man with a smile, "You are a fine shipwright hmm 'sir, I'll make sure to refer you to anyone in need of repairs upon their ships." He makes his way onboard and motions the others to follow, "Me and my friends will need to talk for a moment."

Elina nods and follows the man into the office. Upon entering the office, she takes two olive green peridots out of her pouch. "Is this enough?"

Jarl stands on the dock before the ship, looking at it from a distance

Zakren turns and watches her go. "Well there she goes again." Shaking his head as he boards the boat.

Malakai asks the group " Does this town have a shop, or anyone that could identify our magical items?"

Going aboard to inspect the vessel in general and to look over the finished work. You come to find several cabins below and a fairly nice size cargo area for supplies. All in all you find the ship to be sound or at least to the untrained eye it is.

Russeth ponders as he glances at Malakai; "I doubt so. In all my youth I have seen little to no magic anywhere around town." He looks around at the vessel and laughs, "I think the ship is great. Brand new, now what will we do about a crew?"

With the inspection of the ship over you now must decide to either take the vessel or let it fall to the hands of the shipwrights. The cost of the fees are all but putting you in the poor house, while the lure of the treasure on the island echo's from within your minds, not to mention the mage of the woods.

Malakai shrugs " I know not of sailing, but I have a strong back, and am willing to work...."

Ston looks in the hatch; "Well I see there is room for my horse anyway."

Russeth nods at Malakai, "So what do we want to do right away, my friends?" He leans against the wooden cabin and sighs; "I know a few things about navigation."

Malakai shrugs " That man demands more gold then we have, we can pay with gems, but do we want to?"

Russeth shrugs, "Elina is already taking care of payment I believe. I am sure the boat will come in handy."

Malakai shakes his head " Then there is no need for my suggestion..."

With those words the lass returns to the boat where the rest of you now debate your options.

Elina makes her way unsteadily up the ramp and onto the boat. "Well we will have to wait till the morning for payment. The jeweler does not seem to be around. Perhaps we should do some groceries?"

Russeth sighs, as he estimates how many people would be needed to run this boat safely. "I think I'll just go have some rest. I don't have any groceries to do as it is."

Malakai looks over at the others " Anyone mind if I go below and claim a cabin? There appears to be enough for all...."

[Elina]: "Well we can sleep in the cabin I suppose."

Jarl looks up to the other, then walks onto the boat "why not rent the boat out. Find a merchant that needs to ship his goods to the other side. Find, a crew with some of that money, load the stuff up take it to a port on the other side. Then return after we see the mage to bring back the merchants payment"

Russeth nods to Jarl, "This sounds like a brilliant idea, we should ask around, but I would assume someone that has trade goods already has a boat. We'll be lucky if we can find someone but it's still something we should try!"

Malakai goes below decks, and looks to see if the ship has any cargo on it already.

Russeth climbs onto the top of the cabin and takes a look at the ballista, "Now that's a nice weapon."

Jarl nods "could ask the harbor master. You know if you have trusted family or friends here. Or in Harrowdale you could continue to run trade from the ports if they are willing" smiling "yes very nice".

Russeth stands a top the poop deck looking out across the deck and playing with something up there.

Malakai goes up to the upper cabin deck, and finds a place to sleep in the cabin without a porthole

Elina shrugs, as she knows nothing about weapons. Opening her spare spellbook and checks to see if everything is ok, and pass it to Russeth. "Will you take care of this for me darling?"

Russeth nods and rubs his chin as he ponders, "I have a friend here but he ain't really into these kinds of business." He looks upon the port at the cargo being loaded and sighs. "This vessel could be ran by a crew of eight people. Perhaps we could just hire six crewmen. And we'd be a total of 14 to maneuver the ship!"

Jarl walks about as if looking for something

Russeth nods, "I will Elina." In no time the book is down in his backpack and secured between a few items to protect it.

Russeth climbs down to the lower cabin deck and claims the biggest cabin for himself and Elina. "I will go out tonight and seek out for unemployed crewmen." He nods to himself confidently

Elina smiles at Russeth and gives him a hug. Reaching into her pouch, she draws the wedding band from her pouch and looks at him. "May I?"

[Jarl]: "did ye check the captain's quarters for maps or anything? So did you use the coin and gems from what we collected or some other coins?"

You find yourself on the cabin deck and see Jarl standing in the biggest room on this deck looking about.

Russeth sighs, "It'll be money from the gems we have collected earlier on, and consider this a group acquisition we will all be using it." He nods quickly to Elina seeing no reason to refuse.

Elina smiles and slips the wedding band onto her fourth finger, which fits nicely.

Russeth moves away from the boat along the port, and makes his way back into the shipwright.

Jarl smiles "very good. I might know of some people that would be interested in sending goods across the waters, as well. If it is decided to be used a merchant ship later on"

[Elina]: "Russ will you get me some wine on your way? I need it to identify the items." Shouting at Russeth from upon the deck of the ship.

Isreal sits on the edge of the poop deck, "Geez lass just tell the whole town sound travels at night you know."

Elina smiles at Isreal and makes her way into the biggest cabin which Russeth made it theirs and settles upon the bed for a well overdue rest.

Jarl takes his armor off and heads down into the cabins, finding one of the other rooms and claiming it as his own

Jarl looks to see if there are any types of locks for the doors "think we need to setup watches?"

Zakren stumbles about the boat looking for a nice room. "I hate boats I really do, I wouldn't think we would have to worry about it since the boat has been here a while but there are bolt locks and key hole locks on most of the doors. Maybe yours isn't a cabin."
