You have once again sets your sights on the woods of the land as you make your plans towards the Velarwood's. Before to long you find your way back in town where you pass by the local homes and shops. Passing down the road you can see the farmers starting to come in from the fields, possibly for midday breaks. The old mans words still ring true in your minds as you start to doubt your mortality. In the sky above you is a bird of prey as its shadow is cast down upon you.
[Zakren]: Yup...that's college for ya...
[Isreal]: "that does not strike me as a good sign " looking up.
Russeth glares up and smiles, "Druid, would that be your companion flying over our heads?" Smiling and then sighs turning to face the others.
Elina with her hand in Russeth's strolls down the streets. "Darling, I would like to get a mirror. Where do you reckon they sell one?"
Zakren looks around at the buildings with a passive look...
Druid chuckles. "Perhaps".
[Isreal]: "how long until we reach the dale?"
Before you on the left sits the inn just before the trail out of town right going home, as the left goes to the Velarwood.
Isreal stairs down the long road thinking of how he is going to prepare.
Russeth raises an eyebrow at Elina. "A mirror here? I'm afraid I don't see any shop we could find one, but the blacksmith might still possibly have one. I want to learn more about these men changing into wolves beasts."
Druid smiles at Elina. "You may use mine if you wish, my dear."
[Isreal]: "I say we head to the dale we will find better shops an more things we nee also wiser people to talk to about the men wolves".
Elina nods at Russeth. "Well perhaps the Smith will have some details." She tags at Russeth's arm. "Shall we?"
Russeth eyes the inn and ponders a moment. He spins around and glares at Druid, "There, she has a mirror for you." He smiles, "The smith? All right, we will. Well Isreal, we will see what we can find here already, won't we?"
Zakren shakes his head..."An old man's tales...you don't believe him do you? He was just trying to scare us off."
Elina smiles at Druid. "Thank you for your offer dear sister. Still I prefer to get one of my own."
Druid nods curtly. "As you wish, but it is still here for you." Druid giggles at Elina.
Russeth raises an eyebrow at Zakren's comment. "There is truth in what you say, wise cleric." He smirks slightly, "And that little trick of is. He definitely wanted to impress us."
[Isreal]: "yes but there does not seam to be many people to talk to as in the dale the farmers don’t come to the inn what should we do knock door to door?"
Russeth rolls his eyes. "We will try the blacksmith and the innkeeper, these two must've heard a few stories during their living here.
[Isreal]: "well what of this logging camp that works on the outskirts of this wood surely they would know something".
Russeth walks along with Elina tagging on his arm towards the smith. "Let's go see that smith."
Zakren nods to Isreal..."We should be able to gather more information over there."
[Russeth]: "Alrighty, we will go visit the sawmills right afterwards." He adds in vain.
Elina smiles sweetly at her beloved. Striding besides him with her skirt flaring around her legs.
Druid chuckles quietly to herself.
[Isreal]: "good as it should be that’s where the real deal will be getting on the happening there. The smith will probably say bugger off ".
Zakren stands outside the smith's place and leans back against the wall, awaiting the others.
Standing in front of the inn you debate your next course of action. When some of the farmers come across the road and into the inn.
Russeth strides within the blacksmith, glaring down at the man he met earlier this same day. "Excuse me, sir, I'd like to speak with you for a moment."
Druid walks over to her old friend, Isreal, and quietly converses with him.
Isreal waits with Zak watching the village and the ghastliness of it.
[Elina]: "Smithy sir, might you have a mirror for sale or know of anywhere I can get one?"
Isreal starts for the inn.
The blacksmith still pounds upon his forge as you walk into the hot smoky place. He stops hammering for a moment to look up towards you." Yes, what is it now?"
Druid walks with Isreal.
Marticus walks out of the inn.
[Isreal]: "I will be right back I want to see what that’s all about that’s the most people I have seen in town our hole time here".
Marticus looks around and sees the party and walks over to them with his dog at his heels "hello again".
Zakren nods to him.
[Russeth]: "First off I would like to know if you craft mirrors?"
The smith looks to you as in disbelief of your words and returns to hammering as he pounds upon a piece of iron.
Elina giggles at Russeth. "I have already asked him dear."
Marticus looks over at them "did you find out anything?"
Russeth shrugs, as he glares at the smith, almost seems like he was a dwarf for a moment. He steps outside and glares over at Zakren and watches Isreal leaving him, "Where's he heading?"
[Blacksmith]: "Do" pounding. "I look" Pounding some more "Like a glass maker?" as he pounds sending small sparks of the iron as he takes it over and cools it down in a bucket of water.
[Elina]: "No, of course not good sir. But is they’re anywhere I may get one in this town?"
Zakren shrugs to Russeth..."The Inn...he thinks something is going on...I doubt it but I'm not his keeper."
Russeth nods back at Zakren slightly as he looks off into the woodlands, "Personally, what do you think we should do, Zakren?" He turns around and looks him in the eyes.
[Blacksmith]: "Oh well I wouldn't know I’m just a dumb blacksmith but most folk with some sense would maybe try the general store. Yeah, I think I would." Making his way over to a shelf laying the worked metal upon it.
Marticus looks at Elina quizzicality what do you need glass for?
Druid drops her head as Isreal walks away. She sobs for a few moments before quickly recomposing herself and heading towards the smith.
[Blacksmith]: "If you need horse shoes, nails, braces, or hinges I’m the man otherwise get out of my shop!" Makes his way in your direction with a set of large metal tongs.
Zakren shoves off the wall and turns to face Russeth..."Go to Harrowdale, split up everything and look over the boat...I've never wanted to go to that tower but you might need me to stay alive..." He sighs and leans back against the wall.
Marticus shrugs and exits the shop.
[Elina]: "To groom myself." Elina simply wave an answer at Marticus. "Thank you good sir." as Elina turns towards the Smithy once again. "I will try the general store." Walking out of the shop, she approaches Russeth. "I am heading to the general store. You coming darling?"
Zakren stops Elina..."You won't find any there...the shop keeper barely has anything other than axes."
Russeth sighs deeply at Zakren's answer. "Aye, I see. It seems this will be pretty much our only choice. Everyone’s in favor of this plan." He turns his head slightly towards Elina and smiles; "I will be heading to the Inn in a few, meet me there afterwards." He turns again towards Zakren.
Marticus looks around "anyone know if this town has dog food?"
Isreal opens the door to the inn and walks in.
Elina stops and consider Zakren's suggestion. "Oh alright. Guess I will just have to share with Druid then."
Marticus wanders around the town looking for a shop with dog food.
Russeth whistles sharply as his dog leaves Marticus' and stops playing, running to Russeth's heels and sitting. He smiles and continues chatting with Zakren, "So. Ye want to see that boat now? I think that would in the best of our interest."
Russeth glares over at Isreal walking in, "Shall we join him for now?"
Zakren says casually. "See it and sell it..."
Druid sits outside the smith leaning against a wall near the entrance.
Zakren nods to him and begins to walk towards the inn.
Russeth lightens up at the mention of selling the boat. "Ye want to sell the boat? We could always find it some use to travel, I have a certain knowledge of navigation."
Elina stands besides Russeth without a word, sliding her arm into his. "Sell the boat? We may travel upon it in future. Why don't we keep it?"
[Zakren]: "I'd rather walk or ride than use a boat."
Russeth nods at Elina slightly as he smiles and walks slowly asides her towards the inn. "We will see once we are there, it might not even be in a good enough shape to hold our weights onboard." He grins as he continues walking.
Marticus walks back to the group "where are you all headed?"
Zakren looks back towards the newcomer..."The inn."
Elina giggles at Russeth's answer and nods.
Russeth glares at Marticus, "Oh there you are, we lost track of you back on the trail. If you mean our next destination once we leave this town, it is yet undecided but we are leaning towards going back to the town of Harrowdale."
[Marticus]: "would you mind if I accompanied you? I am going nowhere fast at the moment".
Elina approaches a well and refills her skin with fresh water.
Druid stands up and walks over to join Elina and the other two men.
Marticus looks down at the dogs, "besides I think they are becoming good friends".
Russeth courteously motions Elina to step inside the inn before him once she is done with her own business. "Aye. Maybe." He looks in direction of the paladin as he says so.
Marticus shrugs "thank you" and walks into the inn as well.
Druid leaves the two men and walks over to Elina, happy to finally have a moment with her friend.
Elina places her skins back into her pack and heads towards the inn. Giving Marticus a curtsey and Russeth a smile before she enters the inn.
[Isreal]: "well I would not get as scared of them I as I would the stench coming off of you dirty men " laughing.
Zakren enters the inn as well.
Druid tags along after Elina.
Making your way into the inn you see Isreal talking to the three farmers as they all seem to be laughing about something.
Isreal turns and starts away.
Russeth steps inside and glares over at Isreal, he slowly makes his way towards him with interest.
Isreal walks as one of the farmers throws a goblet smacking him in the back to the head. "How’s that for stench boy?"
Zakren smirks..."Made friends I see."
The goblet making a thud flies over to a table then across it to the floor bearing the signs of a dent in its side.
Russeth stops in his steps as he watches the goblet flies towards Isreal, he smiles slightly. "What did you do?"
Isreal turns and pulls his dagger and heads for the one that threw the glass.
Marticus chuckles, "You seem in need of some social skills".
[Isreal]: "I will kill you for that.
Elina shrugs at the flying goblet as it flies pass her.
Zakren blinks and begins to chant to his goddess.
[Isreal]: "now you will die for insulting me that way".
Russeth frowns at Isreal. "Stop that now, Isreal."
Druid starts to run after Isreal to stop him, but stops herself first.
One of the farmers stands up at Isreal approach he stands maybe 6 foot 5 and pushing some 200 lbs. as he rolls up his sleeves.
[Farmer]: "Come on boy you wish to play? I will break you in two and stick that knife where the sun doesn't shine."
[Isreal]: "you may be strong but I will let you feel my blade".
Russeth walks besides Druid and in front of her; he glares at Isreal, but remains passive as he crosses his arms.
Marticus steps between the farmers and Isreal.
Isreal seems to stop dead in his tracks and in mid sentence.
Zakren finishes his chant and points his finger towards Isreal.
Marticus takes out his broadsword and swigs it over his head "the first person to make a aggressive move gets bedridden".
Zakren turns to the incoming farmer..."Don't mind him..."
Isreal stands there.
Druid chuckles quietly to herself, glad that this pseudo-fight seems to be at an end.
[Elina]: "For gods sake Isreal I demand you to stop! For the life I save I do not wish to see it end meaninglessly."
Zakren shakes his head towards Isreal..."That was just foolish...we have better things to do."
Marticus takes the sword in both hands and just stands there.
The farmers look on in shock as they gather their belongings and grab some bread before hurrying out the door.
Marticus sheaths his sword.
Isreal stands there not moving.
Marticus walks up to Isreal and then whacks him solidly on the back of the head.
Zakren waits until the man is out the door to release his friend.
Russeth glares back at Zakren, having finished his chant and now speaking normally. He laughs sharply and shakes his head, "Yeah Isreal. Unnecessary, you called him a dirty man, I would've had a same reaction." He looks over at the bartender, hoping he wasn't irritated by Isreal's actions.
[Isreal]: "they insulted me first you did not hear all of that talk "
[Marticus]: "does it really matter?"
[Isreal]: "you did not let me defend my self or my honor you do not need to save me at all times"
Elina sighs, relaxing a little now that the tension is gone. "Silly Isreal. What's with a few insults?"
The bar keep shakes his head as he finishes cleaning the bar top from the days lunch rush.
Druid whispers something to Elina, and giggles quietly.
Zakren shakes his head..."I came here to do some good not to fight in a bar...Come on...let's go."
[Marticus]: "There will be no violence on something as petty as insults"
Elina giggles back at Druid.
[Isreal]: "fine off to the mills ".
Marticus looks at Isreal curiously "mills? What for?"
Russeth shrugs at Isreal, striding past him to the bar he hops on a seat. "Hey, hey bartender. Mind if I ask you a question?" He smiles sheepishly.
Isreal cruses the groups for not letting me fight the farm boy.
Zakren says..."Ohh...right...we need to talk first..." He grins.
[Racor]: "Aye sir what can I help you with this fine day?" making his way over to you.
Marticus looks over at Zakren "why do you need to go to the mill?"
[Elina]: "A word with you Isreal." Elina beckons to Isreal to a corner of the inn.
Zakren turns to the Paladin..."We might not be going after all."
[Isreal]: "one day Zak I hope you god hangs you upside from an oak an lets you sit there for about a week"
[Marticus]: "why do you need to go?"
Russeth doesn't wait for the tender's answer as he continues with the question. "Have ye heard of the beasts lurking in the forests? These men changing to wolf. Wolf men if you want." He grins.
Zakren shrugs the thief off with a casual..." Ya, ya, ya..."
Isreal follows Elina.
Russeth watches, Isreal leave and glares, at Zakren shrugging, "We might want to keep an eye on him."
Zakren turns back to the paladin..."don't really have to go but we heard of a tower in the woods and the mill is on the way."
Marticus looks at the group "tower?"
[Racor]: 'Ahh I see the old coot as got you all excited Haha. No one rightly knows for sure, since they have never been seen and those who go missing in the woods never return. As far as the villagers well we think some just left but others seem to have disappeared.
[Racor]: "The last thing to trouble the area was some flying snake like beast that lived in the woods every now and then coming to steal a sheep or cow. Those adventurers who went to take care of it have never been seen again nor the beast.
Druid perks up her slender elven ears at the mention of this new beast,
Russeth nods to the bartender as he puts his elbow on the table and raises his right hand to his chin, "Never return. That doesn't inspire me, yet it intrigues me. Have you any idea how one would prepare to fight such creatures?" He raises an eyebrow at the mention of flying snake.
Marticus grins, "a beast now...that sounds interesting"
Zakren turns to face the barkeep..."Flying serpent? Ohh that's just great...a dragon..." He rolls his eyes and shakes his head...
[Racor]: "Well I would think the ones to be very brave or very foolish. As far as how to defeat one I have no idea on that matter."
[Marticus]: "I say let’s kill it"
Elina nods at Isreal with a satisfied smile upon her face, she returns to stand by Russeth's side.
[Zakren]: "Sure...go ahead...we'll be right behind you..." He grunts.
[Racor]: "Dragon no lad not a dragon. Thank the gods we haven't seen any of them in many winters."
Marticus adds quickly "I mean it IS evil after all, we can’t let things like that live"
Zakren blinks..."What else could it be then?"
[Druid]: "Not necessarily evil."
[Marticus]: "It killed innocent villagers"
[Isreal]: Snakes can be caught an would bring a great price to a wizard if we could offer an flying snake"
Russeth laughs towards Zakren, and then turns to Marticus. "Ambitions. When there's too much ambition it becomes foolishness." He shrugs and then turns back to the bartender, "Well thank you for warning us you as well." He grins as he hops off the stool; he steps behind Elina and puts his hands on her shoulders, "What did you talk to Isreal about, dear?"
[Racor]: "The snake beasts has been known to take a villager or two but went after the live stock mostly, those who died by it were trying to protect their stock."
Zakren turns to the Paladin..."They 'think' some got killed. They aren’t sure."
Marticus shakes his head "you sound like my mother"
Zakren sighs at the Barkeep's answer and curses silently.
Russeth glares suspiciously at Marticus, "You sound like Isreal." He smiles as he glares over at Isreal.
[Isreal]: "well Marticus those things that kill need not be evil have you ever killed or eaten meat?"
Marticus nods "yes, but it wasn’t another mans"
[Racor]: "Foul thing it was would takes it prey high in the air and drop them to their deaths upon the fields below. Yeah now those were some scary times indeed."
Isreal returns the glare to Russeth
Druid nods in agreement with Isreal. "Very true Isreal, but I doubt any argument would sway our companions.
[Russeth]: "To these beasts... we are meat." He grins.
Elina smiles at Russeth, turning her head to the side. "I told him not to waste his life unnecessarily."
Zakren shakes his head in defeat..."If villagers are dying from that serpent..." He sighs again before continuing..."we can't just let it continue."
Marticus nods vigorously
[Isreal]: "well theses things are not killing things of there one kind we are not at the top of the food chain if you have not see "
[Racor]: "Folks die every day there lad why would you want to go face death in the woods over fools getting lost in the woods or cutting to deep?"
Russeth nods at Elina as he rubs her shoulders softly, "Good thinking. Let's hope he does so." He then sighs and nods vigorously as the paladin. "Alrighty, you two have a point here, would you like to investigate further?"
Marticus grabs his sword "to the forest then!"
Elina lets out a soft sigh as Russeth's strong fingers relieve her muscles of their tension.
Russeth smiles at the innkeeper and then turns to Marticus, "Huh uh. Not so quickly." He bursts into laughter.
Zakren sighs and nods to the barkeeper..."What can we do? I'm here to help people..."
[Isreal]: "no Marticus to the dale to be better prepared"
Druid chuckles at how righteous her friends are, at the same time happy they are.
Zakren shakes his head to Isreal..."No off to the forest like he said..."
[Russeth]: "We need to prepare, but Isreal, I am not sure it is that necessary to head to the town of Harrowdale for that."
Marticus sheaths his sword "yes, maybe I could have a better sword...maybe a magical one if I am lucky"
Russeth glares at Marticus and then to Isreal. "That spell you have learned, Isreal, would you be able to put it to use right ahead?"
Zakren laughs at Marticus..."I'm sure we'll find one in the grass." He shakes his head at the paladin being so naive.
[Elina]: "If we have time, I will like to try and learn the spell again."
Marticus grins sheepishly "I guess I would have a better chance finding one there".
[Isreal]: "if I had a pearl".
Russeth grins at Zakren, and then nods behind Elina. "I'm sure you will succeed, dear." He glares at Isreal, "We have two pearls, wizard, yet I don't know their value."
[Isreal]: "surely my lady but I would like to look into your book as well"
[Zakren]: "Pearls?"
Marticus looks at them quickly "you have Pearls?"
Russeth nods at Zakren; "You are holding them, Zakren."
Elina smiles at Isreal. "Why of course. Its only fair." With that, Elina takes her book out of her bag and sits at an empty table awaiting Isreal.
[Marticus]: "wow, you must be the people who purged to raiders" sheaths his sword realizing that he is holding it over his head
[Isreal]: "I will be there in a moment my lady"
Russeth lets Elina go and crosses his arms with a smile. "Yes, in a sort of way we purged some bandits."
[Isreal]: "well do we they have to be quite valued
Druid shudders at the mention of the bandits.
[Marticus]: "well, then a bunch of veterans like you and a Gallant like me should have no problem with this...snake"
Elina shifts impatiently in her sit as she waits for Isreal.
[Isreal]: "sorry my lady I must find this out"
Russeth glares at Druid and suddenly stops smiling, unfolding his arms. He glares suspiciously, "In what will a Gallant help with a snake, if I might ask?" He resumes his smiling forgetting quickly about Druid's shuddering.
Zakren glances at Isreal..."Why do you want to know?"
Russeth glares at Elina, "Hun, perhaps ye can tell me what's the value of our two pearls?" he places his left hand before letting him know he wants the gems.
[Marticus]: "why helping coordinate the attack"
[Isreal]: "I would need them to identify those rings our dear ranger has"
Russeth hands the bag of gems to Elina with a smile and winks. He turns around and shrugs at Marticus, "Coordinate the attack, we will see, I have great hopes of seeing you battle by my side however. Putting yourself between that burly man and Isreal, whom you didn't even know, I like that." He grins slightly.
Elina smiles a sweet smile at Russeth. "The 2 pearls are of the same value. 100 gold piece each."
Marticus grins, back "It is what I do"
You sit around waiting while Elina tries to drum up how much the gems were when she looked over them.
[Isreal]: "ok now I need an owls feather an some wine"
Russeth smiles back warmly at Elina as he reaches for the pearls, handing one to Isreal and giving the other to Zakren. "Will this gem be fine for you?"
[Isreal]: "ok now I need an owls feather an some wine. Yes it will be great"
Marticus walks over to the barkeep "barkeep, wine for the man"
Isreal starts studying his spell book for this day
Zakren grunts..."We're wasting day time..."
Russeth walks over to the table Elina is sitting on and seats himself next to her, one leg under the table, the other behind the long bench, watching over her shoulder at the spellbook. "Aye we are." He adds quickly after Zakren's comment.
Elina smiles at Isreal and exchanges her spellbook with him.
Marticus sees that Isreal was joking "never mind about the wine"
Russeth glares over at Isreal starting to study and shakes his head. "Wait, Isreal. We should start moving already, perhaps to the wood mills, and tonight as the sun set you can prepare your spell."
Isreal stops "I say we head to the dale there we can get better supplies for our trip"
Russeth shrugs at Isreal, "And what supplies do we need?"
Zakren shakes his head..."And we say go on..."
[Marticus]: "so, would you mind telling me about your adventures with the bandits? I am new to adventuring and stores might help me learn about what it is like"
[Isreal]: "I don’t want to go off into the wood half fast."
[Isreal]: "well traps for one thing to start setting around the camps
Russeth glares at Isreal surprised, "Wasn't that exactly what we did this past week?" He grins slightly.
Zakren refrains from replying to his comment but a grin covers his face.
[Isreal]: "we have to be careful out here. Yes but that’s where I met you at remember"
Russeth nods at Isreal and then glares at Zakren, "Help me there?" He grins. "We will be carefully, I have all I need to be careful."
Marticus looks over at Druid "why did you shudder at the mention of the bandits, it sounds like a grand adventure"
[Isreal]: "I say we go to the dale I have a radical idea to keep us slightly safer in the woods "
Druid nods politely to Marticus. "Aye, it was certainly interesting."
Zakren cuts Marticus off..."Stop asking"
Russeth shakes his head, "This is a great loss of time Isreal, and there will be more victims."
Elina sighs and places her spellbook back into her pack. "Oh alright. We will continue our studies tonight Isreal." Leaning her head upon Russeth's strong shoulder, she closes her eyes for a little rest.
Marticus looks at the milling in the group "I really don’t know about you but I am going to the forest in the morning"
[Isreal]: "I don’t want to die going to the tower do you"
Russeth smiles, as he smells the scent of Elina's beautiful hair. He sighs as he places his right arm around her back. "Isreal, the tower is another matter right now, we are speaking of a flying serpent."
Zakren shakes his head..."Give it up already Isreal...I don't want more people to die while we go to Harrowdale to get supplies."
Russeth glares at Marticus, "In the morning? Wouldn't you prefer heading outside today?"
Marticus groans "are you going to do something? Actually yes, but you probably aren’t going to do anything till then"
Russeth frowns at the paladin's impatience. "We will, but in the necessary time."
Zakren crosses his arms across his chest..."What are we waiting for?"
Druid pulls out her holy symbol for the first time in a few days and begins her long-overdue prayers to Mystra.
Zakren shakes his head...."Druid...do that tonight."
Marticus watches Druid and realizes he is overdue for some praying to, so he takes his holy symbols in both hands and kneels, praying to Tyr
[Racor]: "Hmm folks you really shouldn't be doing such things here." Turning to see the bar keep standing behind the bar looking at you.
Russeth glares at Zakren, "We are convincing Isreal." He smiles.
Marticus ignores the barkeep and continues praying
Russeth laughs shortly at the barkeep. "I guess it's contagious."
Racor sets out a loud sigh as he reaches under the counter and pulls out a large piece of wood and makes his way to the end of the bar.
[Isreal]: "ok lets go get some flying snakes don’t forget to die on the way"
Marticus notices the barkeeps movement with the wood and watches silently, praying
Russeth grins at Isreal, "If we die. We will die in honor."
Zakren shakes his head and whispers to Russeth as he walks over to the door to leave.
Racor makes his way out from behind the bar you see it is a well made wooden club, the handle being wrapped in leather as ties hang freely near his hand. "I said we will not have any of that here."
Russeth puts and hand on Zakren's shoulder to hold him back for a moment as he whispers back in his ear.
Marticus stands up and grabs his sword in both hands and waves it threateningly around, while still praying
[Isreal]: "what will we not be having any of?"
Druid opens her left eye to gaze intently on the keep.
Russeth slides on the other end of the table as the sword flies, dragging Elina along with him, waking her in the process. He leans his head backward in suspicion at the man.
Marticus finishes his prayer
Racor makes his way straight into the paladin who blatantly disregards his requests as swings it hard upon him from the left and back to the right again. Smashing the paladin twice with the club.
Marticus parries his blows and lets go of the sword with one hand and punches the keep in the stomach
[Isreal]: "what’s that all about?"
Marticus falls over like a felled tree in convulsions
Marticus goes to the floor from the second blow. I suggest you take your friend and leave." Looking to the rest of you.
Zakren yells at the paladin..."DIDN'T THEY TEACH YOU TO RESPECT OTHERS' WISHES!"
[Elina]: "Huh? Are we moving off already dear?" Elina opens her gleaming bluish green eyes and stares lovingly into Russeth's.
Druid finishes her prayer and stand up quickly.
Isreal grabs the paladin and starts out the door with him
Druid rushes over to Marticus and quickly bandages up his wounds.
[Elina]: "What happened to the paladin?" Elina wonders aloud.
Russeth glares at the paladin being smashed in the back and then the innkeeper. "We will. But I hope this won't alter any business we have had in the past." He looks down at the paladin in confusion from his seat and nods to Elina as he looks down at her beautiful face, "Aye, we are moving. Oh, the man. He prayed too loud." He grins.
Elina giggles at the paladin. "Praying too loud?"
Marticus is in convulsions
[Isreal]: "an you guys would not let me fight the farm boys but the new guy gets to fight the keep" pulling Marticus out of the inn
Druid finishes her bandaging and clandestinely mutters a prayer of healing over Marticus.
Russeth shrugs as he rises from his seat and stretches his legs. "Oh well. Bring the Paladin back to consciousness, if he still wants to come it's up to him."
Zakren shrugs..."Fine." raises his hands to the sky and begins to chant to his goddess.
Racor helps you all towards the door as you find your self being herded out of the inn. "Just keep it moving and don't come back here." The keep informs you as you exit the inn.
Russeth glares at Zakren and then waits for Elina to be ready to go, "Come on now. Enough resting." He smiles as he cracks his knuckles again and walks around the table, helping Isreal carry the man.
[Isreal]: "great we've been kicked out of the only inn in this village "
Elina rises sleepily, nearly falling over as she misses her footing. With a cry, she grabs on to Russeth's arm.
Marticus wakes up "I can not believe that Tyr is so harsh for praying"
Zakren 's hand glows blue and he quickly touches Marticus' head and his body absorbs the light and quickly fades.
Marticus cradles his head between his hands and groans
Russeth curses as they exit the inn. "Kicked out of the inn. Because of a paladin can you believe that." He shakes his head but still he has a smile, "The Gallant man he said."
Druid whispers words of comfort to Marticus, careful not to hurt his pride.
[Russeth]: "We're heading to the forest already. Everyone’s fine with that?" He looks directly at Isreal.
Elina falls, flailing her arms, as she grabs nothing but air.
[Isreal]: "this sucks I wanted to at least sleep in a bed tonight not on the group again."
Marticus stands up and cracks a wan grin "I guess that is the first rule to adventuring, never annoy a barkeep"
Zakren shakes his head and looks over Marticus..."Are you happy? Don't think about pissing off another barkeep. And that's the same for the rest of you." He looks over each of them, eyeing Isreal a little longer than the rest.
[Isreal]: "are we going to the tower or after the snakes?"
Druid rushes over to Elina and helps her up.
Russeth notices Elina falling to the ground behind and lets the others carry Marticus outside, he is quickly next to her and offering both his hands for help, "Aaah, sorry, I didn't realize you were still half in sleep." He smiles, looking at her and finding it a bit funny.
Standing out front of the inn you see the sun is around the mid afternoon height as you look across the road to the trail heading to the woods on your left and heading back into the plains to the right and Harrowdale.
Marticus looks at Zakren "you have a very annoying habit of stating the obvious"
[Isreal]: "why does everyone thing I am the bad guy I did not get us thrown out of the inn?"
[Elina]: "Thank you dear sister." Elina stands slowly with Druid's help. Pouting at Russeth's comment, she sulks.
Zakren scowls at Marticus..."Well it isn't so obvious it seems."
Druid laughs at Elina playfully. "I'm sure he meant well." She winks at Elina.
Zakren moves off towards the forest, hoping the march will cool him off.
Elina giggles. "Ah I know. Just want some attention."
Russeth shrugs, letting Druid help her up he moves away and then at Isreal. "I said paladin. Tonight we will camp on the edge of the woods, tomorrow we will head within, perhaps just as deep as to be able to be out by daylight."
[Isreal]: "well I say off to the dale an then off to the gem you as a ranger know the snakes are only feeding let the farmers handle it"
Marticus sighs, "well that is the first time I have ever seen praying be a problem"
You see Zakren leave heading off down the trails towards the woods.
Marticus holds his hand over his body and watches as he heals some of his own wounds
Russeth shakes his head at Isreal; "I cannot believe who deaths of others affects you so less. I don't need further preparation as far as I know, traps well, not that necessary either." He grins slightly as he glares at Zakren. "Hey, he moving ahead, come on everyone let's catch up with him."
[Elina]: Sulking, Elina heads towards Russeth and pouts straight into his face. Crossing her arms beneath her blossoms, she gives Russeth a sad and hurt expression.
Marticus follows Russeth and Zakren
[Isreal]: "I don’t want to go into the woods with out being prepared". Following the others.
Totally equipped or at least the best you can from the village, and ready to go you take the long road down to the woods. You begin your travels for a short several hundred yards and over a small rolling hill or two before seeing a gorge or crack in the land running from the north to the south. Moving up to it you see its about 7 foot wide and about 30 foot deep as it closes up to an impassable crack going deeper.
Russeth glares at Elina pouting, as he was about to move ahead he stops and moves his head back in surprise, "What did I do?" He smiles showing a bit of sarcasm.
Russeth leans over and kisses Elina on the cheek, "I thought you were fine with Druid helping you, dear." He grabs hold of her left hand into his right and motions her to start walking with them...
[Isreal]: "I don’t like this we are going in blind an half cocked"
Zakren shrugs and turns towards the left side of the gorge and walks in that direction.
[Elina]: "No. It’s not fine with you walking away." Elina starts following Russeth's lead.
Russeth nods at Elina, "I'm sorry. I had to talk to Isreal again."
You make your way along the left side of the gorge for some time as it twists and whines through the landscape never seeming to get smaller then 5 foot wide at best.
[Elina]: "Oh. Well I guess I shouldn't take it out on you then." Elina giggles.
Zakren looks for a tall and strong tree as he gets an axe from his pack.
Russeth follows aside Zakren, holding her hand, looking down in the gorge once in a while. "What are your intentions with that axe, cleric?"
[Isreal]: "I still want to go to the dale you may think you have all what you need but we can get more things that would help there"
Zakren turns to Russeth..."Might as well be on the safe side and cross the gorge on a tree trunk.
[Isreal]: "a net for instance so try to slow the snakes"
Russeth nods at Zakren, but seems to ignore Isreal's complaining a bit more. "How do you know we are on the wrong side?"
[Isreal]: "but no the thief gets you the info on the tower but you want to traipse into a hornets nest rather than leaving it alone an coming back with some fire"
Zakren looks at Russeth in puzzlement..."We we're heading that way and the gorge cut us off from how path..."
[Isreal]: "hay don’t snakes like dark places in daylight an hunt at night?
Russeth glares at Isreal and shakes his head, not adding a word. "So you want to cut a tree to cross it? Why don't we jump it?" He grins slightly, "No need to hurt an innocent tree."
Druid remains quiet still unnerved about the sudden turn of events.
Zakren turns to Isreal in annoyance..."I got a torch and a flint and steel...now give it up."
Russeth laughs at Zakren and then turns to face Isreal, "Yeah well crawling snakes do."
[Isreal]: "why don’t we check the gorge to see if there are any sings of snakes down there?"
Zakren turns to Russeth and points down the gorge..."And if someone falls? And we were just in a lumber town...I didn't see you complain then. I'm just trying to make it safer for us."
Russeth glares down inside the gorge again, "We have a rope, we can keep anyone from falling inside."
Elina ponders at the arguments for a moment as she looks around at her surroundings.
Druid waves her hand to get Elina's attention.
Marticus looks over the gorge
[Elina]: "What is it sister?" Elina leaves Russeth's side and heads towards Druid.
Russeth glares at Zakren as he lets Elina's hand go to get closer to the edge of the gorge.
Druid points to her spellbook and says something to Elina.
Zakren shakes his head as he puts his axe away..."I just don't care anymore...Do what you want." He moves some feet away from the gorge and sits down.
[Marticus]: "does anyone have some rope?"
[Isreal]: "I will just climb down with my rope an grappling hook when I get down to the bottom you throw it across to the other side an I will climb back up it
Russeth glares around at the party. "Who has a rope?"
Elina shakes her head at Druid.
[Marticus]: "lets just swing across, we can latch the robe onto a tree"
Isreal starts pulling rope out of his pack
[Elina]: "fall a tree and I and druid will make it bigger to cross upon."
Russeth shrugs as he moves back some twenty feet near Elina and Druid, and charges straight in direction of the gorge, leaping above at the last moment in a long jump.
Druid jerks her head up at the surprise attempt.
Marticus watches Russeth surprised "I never would of thought Russeth as the impulsive type"
Druid whips out her spellbook and prepares her spell just in case.
Isreal just looks on
Russeth runs straight at the gorge and leaps it flying through the air hitting the plain on the other side before tumbling into the weeds and out of sight. He seems to have cleared the gorge by 13 feet or more.
Elina smiles confidently as she watches her darling sail over the gorge.
Russeth lands on the other side with an almost inaudible thump, he falls onward on his palms and rises quickly, whipping them from the dust that might have got on them.
Druid smiles quite relieved.
Russeth glares back behind at the others and shrugs, "Now who's got a rope?"
Isreal finishes pulling the rope from his pack and tosses one end across to Russeth.
Russeth turns around a moment, glaring at his surroundings, making sure he is alone there.
Russeth grabs hold of the rope and looks at Isreal, "Tie it around your waist and jump, even if it's not necessary, let's hurry before something shows up!" He grins, a bit of excitement on his face.
Isreal ties it off and runs an jumps across
Russeth nears the edge and lets only 15 feet of loose on the rope.
Isreal runs and jumps landing just on the other side of the gorge.
Marticus runs and tries to jump the gorge
Russeth smiles at the thief as he passes by, "Say anyone wants to jump free." He doesn't finish his sentence and watches Marticus leap.
Druid prepares her spell once again.
Marticus runs and trips as he goes sending him about two feet out before falling into the gorge.
Isreal unties and tosses the rope back to the other side
Zakren rolls his eyes from his sitting place.
Elina starts muttering something and Marticus slows from a fall to a float.
Russeth extends one hand above the pit, trying to grab hold of one of his arms.
Marticus floats down softly looking around the gorge.
[Isreal]: "well what do you see down there?"
Russeth glares down at Marticus as he pulls on the rope making it fall into the gorge, "I've sent the rope so come up when you're ready."
Marticus takes the rope and throws the grappling hook upwards
[Elina]: "Throw a rope over to me and Druid please? I don't think I can jump that far."
Marticus looks upward "can someone throw me down a rope I can climb?"
The rope dangles next to Marticus as he looks up.
Marticus climbs up the rope
Russeth sighs as he feels the weight on the rope. "We are doing so much for that paladin. I hope soon he does something for us." He grins as he pulls on the rope as well.
Marticus grumbles something about bad luck with the gods
Russeth raises an eyebrow, as his head appears at the top, "Maybe if you'd pray them elsewhere than a bar they'd appreciate it."
[Isreal]: "an you all think I am the problem" rolling his eyes
Elina sighs as she walks back a few feet and starts a run and jump off the gorge.
Marticus looks over to Russeth "you know, you are very annoying"
Russeth pulls Marticus on the ground and tosses the rope across, the rope passing just aside Elina his eyes lighten.
Marticus makes his way out of the gorge as you look across to the others. Elina runs and jumps falling straight into the gorge getting only a little farther then Marticus.
Elina mutters a word "Feather falls" as she slowly floats down the gorge.
[Isreal]: "Don’t anyone try that again all this spell waste"
Russeth watches Elina fall down into the gorge helplessly, but when she slows he sighs, again. "You people are so impatient. We have one, ONE rope."
Marticus sighs "when I get back to town I am going to chart this area"
Elina giggles as she floats down, holding on to her skirt to keep them from getting blown upwards.
Hawk sighs as he runs and jumps clearing the gorge with no problem. Landing just beyond it.
[Marticus]: "does anyone have some parchment and a quill or chalk I could use?"
[Elina]: "Rope?" Elina looks up as she lands safely at the bottom of the gorge.
Elina hides her legs as she floats to the gorge floor below.
Russeth tosses down the rope thrusting out his chest with pride. "Why do you want to chart this area?"
Zakren gets up and moves to the gorge, awaiting the rope.
[Marticus]: "so I will know where I am going. Also having a map handy is a good thing"
[Elina]: Gratefully, Elina grabs the rope and begins her climb.
[Russeth]: "Bah. We know where we're going. Falling down in a gorge is not something you can avoid by charting the area. He grins as he pulls up Elina with ease.
Within a short time you pull Elina up from out of the gorge.
Marticus ignores Russeth's remark "well? Does anyone have a quill and ink and parchment?"
Elina gives Russeth a warm embrace upon reaching the top. "Thank you dear."
Russeth tosses the rope above the gorge and into Zakren's hand, "Let's see if you can make it." He leaves some loose on the rope for him to jump and waits, his feet anchored to the plains.
Isreal sits there waiting for the others
Russeth smiles happily at Elina's embrace, "Well, my pleasure again."
Zakren ties it around himself and runs towards the gorge, at the last moment; he leaps into the air.
Elina giggles as she turns and watches the rest cross the gorge.
Druid's concentrated on those more than the others, and had no access to several.
Russeth grips on the rope tightly as Zakren leaps. He moves to the left as Zakren begins to lower, letting him land freely, should he land.
Zakren jumps hitting the other side but is able to keep from falling in as you pull in his slack.
Isreal gathers up the rope an complains "I really think we should go to the dale an get some things before heading off into the woods"
Zakren unties the rope and throws it over to Druid.
Druid quickly ties the rope around her waist, checking to make sure it is tight.
Isreal stops gathering the rope an lets druid cross
[Druid]: "Here goes nothing...."
Russeth keeps hold of the other end, waiting for Druid. "Well, I wonder why this gorge is there. This is strange."
[Elina]: "Why Isreal? What is so important in the dale?" Elina looks at Isreal in wonder.
Druid runs barely getting off the ground on the other side as she falls swinging down into the hole and over to the other side smacking the dirt walls of the gorge.
Zakren takes hold of the rope and helps Russeth pull her out of the gorge.
In no time at all you pull up the dirty and dust covered lass from the gorge as all of you have now made it across.
Russeth shakes his head as Druid flies straight into it, he pulls on the rope hardly as she falls.
Marticus shakes his head "remind me to get some parchment and some writing ink and quill when we get back to town"
Isreal laughs loudly then turns to Elina "a good range weapon for starters some bear traps to protect our camp from beasts an a few other things like info on the place we are heading"
Making your way across the gorge and down the trail several hills later you see before you a patch of murky looking trees jutting out from the land. The outer rim seems to be apprised of pine trees as the inner sanctum looks to be made up of taller stronger oaks and maples. A small mill sits of to the left of the trail just before the forest, logs are stacked upon each other two and three high. Various birds fly above the treetops as the birds of prey soar above the lands looking down upon you and the lands targeting their next meal, possibly that small creature ahead of you on the trail.
Russeth glares around at everyone once the rope has been gathered and put his hands to his hip. "Hmm. I had never jumped that far before. I impress myself." He shrugs and walks over to Elina's side, ignoring Isreal he smiles at her. "Shall we move on further?" He looks up at the sky, making out the time it is.
[Isreal]: "we will never get to town with this ranger wanting to go of into the woods every time he hears that’s something in them"
Russeth glares at Isreal with suspicion as he leans over to both Elina and Zakren to whisper to them respectively.
Druid examines the bird and then the small creature intently.
Marticus walks along Isreal "now that is a man who is full of himself"
Elina returns Russeth's smile and nods. "Lets go."
Zakren moves over to mill and knocks on its door.
Marticus motions to Russeth
Elina whispers something back to Russeth.
The small creature runs off as you make your way to the mill, leaving the birds to hunt once more above you.
Isreal gathers the rope then
Druid sighs quietly, watching the birds fly off.
Russeth glares at the creature with a smile as it runs off.
Isreal mumbles more about the dale but keeps walking
Zakren stands knocking on the door of the mill, as no one seems to answer it.
Zakren shrugs and opens up the door before stepping inside.
Isreal hangs back looking around the mill
Russeth walks aside Elina, still holding his hand, a smile on his face constantly. He glares at Zakren knocking on the door and stares at it patiently.
Druid stays a step behind Zakren, curious as to what's inside.
Opening the door and steeping in you see several large men sawing trees in half by the length as they work the saw from each side one pulling then the other.
Russeth notices Zakren making his way in before Druid and lets go Elina's hand, courteously letting her go in first.
Elina holds on to Russeth's hand while she mentally prepares a spell.
Marticus watches
Isreal brings up the rear
Zakren nods to the man in greetings..."Hello."
[Elina]: Letting go of Russeth's hand, Elina smiles at Russeth as she enters the mill.
The men look over a stop sawing as they make their way over to you. They both stand very tall and are thick in the arms and shoulders as they stop before you.
[Mill worker]: "Yeah what do want? Something we can help you with?"
Zakren grins at their crude behaviors..."Do you know anything about the flying serpent? We're here to end its tyranny."
Russeth steps behind the lady as he looks around, wondering why they have come here he looks at Zakren and steps aside him, his arms crossed over his still thrusting, out his chest.
The one-man smiles at Druid and Elina as you see he is missing all but one tooth and it looks in poor shape as it is. The other man better groomed waits for an answer.
Druid returns the smiles, although she inches a bit closer to Elina.
Druids, face lights up quickly though, in remembrance.
Mill worker laughs at one another then turn to you. "Well you just follow them there trails right into the forest there you see, and when you run out of trail its to late."
[Druid]: "Oh, sir, would you happen to have pieces of bur stone?"
Elina gives the men a curtsey as she slides closer to Russeth.
Russeth lightens up at the mention of tracks and sighs, "I thought these things were flying?"
[Mill worker]: "What did she say?" The two men look at each other and to the lass.
[Isreal]: "well there is a trail leading to death WELL RUSSETH shall we follow?"
[Mill worker]: "Tracks who said anything about tracks lads. Hmm maybe you should rethink wandering into those woods there. Many a folk get lost and never come back."
Zakren nods to the man..."Aye we heard that too."
[Isreal]: "oh this is a great ranger he will leave bread crumbs for us to find our way back with" laughing
[Druid]: "A bur stone sir...your millstones are probably made from them..."
Russeth glares at Isreal suspiciously, "Are you trying to draw your own trail to death or something? You do, as you want if you're so pissed and you can't take it I have no reason to hold you here. If you think we won't make it through because we don't have bear traps, well you're wrong."
[Mill worker]: "Well be it on your head for going there not mine." They rub theirs hands as they begin to make their way back to the saw. "We do not use stones here lass we use saws see." Pointing to the large two manned saw as they prepare to start once more.
[Isreal]: "no I don’t think we will make it threw because all you fighter types think you can handle anything with out, any forethought or preparation"
Zakren scratches his hairless chin and asks..."Where is the small village near the woods?"
Russeth shakes his head at Isreal; "We have had preparation. Preparation is not always something about equipment you know."
[Mill worker]: "Velarsburg is back up the trails there." Pointing up the way you just came.
[Marticus]: "so where are we headed?"
Zakren shakes his head..."It doesn't matter...good day." He moves outside.
Russeth joins in with Zakren, moving away from Isreal. "We heard of a village, two days within the..." He notices Zakren leaving and he shrugs, following him, but he waits for Elina.
[Isreal]: "well lets go kill some snakes then it true Ranger fashion we will juts smash them with rocks" grinning
Zakren grins at Russeth..."We'll find it on our own."
Elina follows Russeth hastily, not wanting to stay in the mill with those strangers.
[Marticus]: "where are we going? To town or to the tower?"
Russeth nods at Zakren a bit sadly as he steps outside. "And if we meet a real threatening serpent. We might in the end toss it a little thief to keep it busy munching while we run."
Isreal steps out of the mill
Marticus follows
Zakren turns to Isreal with anger..."Can't you hold your tongue and not provoke a fight in front of others? What do we look like to them now?"
[Isreal]: "I heard that I would sooner slit your throat while you sleep ranger"
Russeth glares over his shoulder at Isreal and sighs, he draws his two swords and turns around, charging straight at him.
Marticus runs in Russeth’s way
Russeth twirls them stylishly as he nears him. "I've had just enough of him."
Zakren shakes his head violently..."That's it...we aren’t forcing you to come Isreal...go form you're own reckless group if you don’t like this one Damnit."
[Marticus]: "ENOUGH!"
[Isreal]: "well kill me ranger bring it on." pulling his dagger out.
Druid slowly exists, the mill, disappointed that she has to now enter this confrontation.
Zakren rolls his eyes..."A fight doesn't have to be resolved in blood."
[Elina]: "Enough! Stop this foolishness."
Russeth moves as fast as he can past the paladin who puts in his way, "Go away paladin, you have seen how he threatens me."
Marticus just stands there in the middle like a rock "that is not the way of justice"
Zakren turns to Russeth..."You better not fight him. You'd be no better than him."
Russeth stops in his tracks and glares at the paladin, "You think you're here to do justice?" He begins a motion of sheathing one of the swords.
Isreal punches Russeth with his free hand
Catchy the dog begins to bark, as his master seems to get hostile only provoking Klaus to join in.
Marticus looks down at Klaus "good dog"
Zakren shrugs..."Well he started it...you can finish it." He sits on the pilled up wood trunks and waits.
Marticus looks down at Klaus and points at Isreal "stop him"
Elina approaches and tugs at Russeth's arm. "No fighting darling. You too Isreal. Especially you have just made me a promise."
Isreal swings with his free hand trying to punch Russeth as he misses him almost striking Marticus.
Russeth moves his head it seems only an inch, avoiding the blow. He sheathes his sword and shakes his head, sending two jabs at the thief.
Marticus moves out of the way now that the deadly weaponry is sheathed. "Pummel each other then, if it makes you feel better"
Elina stands in between the two as Marticus moves out. "I said stop!" Frowning in anger.
Druid pulls Elina roughly away.
Marticus helps Druid move Elina
Russeth hits twice perfectly across the man's face hoping to send him to the ground, "He started it."
[Druid]: "Let them settle it."
[Elina]: "No!" Elina stands firmly in the way. "I will not have this."
Druid smiles at Elina, and whispers something to her.
Russeth pulls off a combo upon Isreal sending his legs out from beneath him and him down to the ground.
Marticus hands her his sword "fine, you deal with it as you seem fit"
Isreal reels at the blows falling to the ground
Russeth watches the thief fall to the ground and breathes heavily. "How can you guys not understand me?"
Isreal lies upon the ground with blood at his lip as he snores to the late afternoon winds.
Russeth shakes his head as he walks away from the party and into a circle, cursing to himself.
Elina shakes her head as she attends to Isreal's wound, bandaging him.
Marticus takes his sword back and sheaths it
Zakren gets off the piled trunks..."Alright let's go. He can do whatever he wants when he wakes up."
Marticus walks over to Russeth "what is wrong with you?"
Druid joins Elina.
[Elina]: Upon finishing the bandage, Elina runs after Russeth hugging him from behind.
Druid sits next to Isreal, refusing to leave him alone.
Russeth kicks dirt as he comes back to the party, his fists clenched on his hips, he watches down as they tend the thief. He says not a word, until the paladin comes close to him he glares at him straight in the eyes a few inches from his face. "And who are you to talk? He openly affirms he steals innocent people, he wants to slit my throat, what is it you want, huh?"
[Marticus]: "he should have a fair trial then"
Zakren glances at the group..."I guess we decide here and now who goes on with Russeth and who stands with Isreal...He's not coming along."
Elina hugs Russeth from the back tightly. "I will not have him do harm to you dear. So why do you worry?"
[Russeth]: "A fair trial? We aren’t in Silverymoon here. Do you see an elven court somewhere or what?" Speaks with frenzy, a lot of anger shown in his altered voice.
Isreal lies on the ground knocked out
[Druid]: "I am staying with Isreal. He may be a bit brash, but I've known him for too long to abandon him.
[Marticus]: "well then lets take him to Velarsburg and have a trail there, they seem to have a good government"
Druid smiles at Elina. "You go with Russeth."
Marticus speaks with measured calm
Russeth glances at Marticus and raises his hands in confusion. "Good government? Do they at least have one?"
Zakren shakes his head to Marticus..."He hasn't done anything...just threats."
Elina shakes her head furiously. "Now no need for that. Just, cool down, and be on our way. Why part on such trifle matter?"
Russeth glares at Elina and frown, "I know he's been nice to you and protective to you. But it's not the same for me!"
Zakren sighs and turns to Druid..."Come with us? We need you but we can't risk having Isreal any longer..."
Marticus sighs "just calm down"
Russeth shakes his head as he brings his hands back to his hip and sigh's deeply he looks at Marticus. "So what do you have to propose, huh?"
Druid smiles at Zakren "I would love to join you, but I must stay with Isreal".
Elina sighs, letting Russeth go. "Alright. Just everyone calm down a little bit. You know how I feel about you dear. Please calm down."
[Marticus]: "I propose that you calm down and go to sleep. You are overreacting"
Russeth runs and hand across Elina's back. "Sorry dear, I didn't mean to be rude. He’s just. Pissing me off." He glances over at him lying on the ground. "Should I go to sleep and wait patiently for my throat to be slit?"
Marticus looks around for Russeth’s dog "set your dog on watch, he is more than enough defense
[Elina]: "No dear. I will watch your sleep." Elina giggles a little, covering her mouth with her delicate hands.
Russeth grins at last the paladin's comment. "Good idea. My dog is probably stronger than he is anyway. And he better not touch her." He walks over at Elina and sighs, "Let's get moving." He smiles at Elina, turns around and curses in elven.
You sit by the mill, as it grows later waiting for Isreal to come to when he begins to stir.
Druid holds Isreal tightly, wiping the remainder of the blood for his face.
Marticus walks over to Isreal "You would be better off unconscious"
[Isreal]: "uh, uh "trying to get up
Zakren walks towards the trail..."Come on...let's go before he wants to he wants a rematch."
[Marticus]: "yeah, this time Isreal will probably die before any of us could stop them"
Before to long the mill workers come out and lock the door as they look over at you shaking their heads they makes their way up the trail to Velarsburg, there may be 7 in all as they move along.
Russeth turns around again and looks at Elina, grabbing both her hands in his. "Will. Will you come, dear?" He looks down at Isreal, and then back to Zakren.
Elina nods and follows Russeth, turning back to look at Isreal as she does and shakes her head sadly.
Marticus follows Russeth and Elina
Russeth nods back at Elina and then looks at Druid, "Druid. Well?"
Coming to the edge of the woods you see the underbrush is spread out through the area and not as over grown as the Cormanthor but the land is soft with surface waters scattered about the area. The sun sits well into midday leaving the question to wait until morning or enter the woods now and camp in the depths of it.
Russeth doesn't find the word he would like to find.
Druid smiles at Russeth, nodding knowingly. Sitting next to Isreal, waiting for him to rest.
Russeth lightens up, and looks at her with a sad look. He heads off with a deep breath after Elina, moving slowly and looking straight ahead. His eyes indeed filled with water.
Druid helps Isreal get up, glancing too often at the departing party.
[Isreal]: "than... than... thank you druid "
Marticus walks back to the group where they stopped. "Ill go look for something for us to eat". Goes off hunting.
Elina gives Russeth a smile and whispers word of comfort as she dries his eyes with her sleeve.
Zakren shrugs..."We have food."
Druid hugs Isreal. "Please try to restrain that brash side of yourself, my friend. I know you like to show it, but it will get you in trouble."
Elina, Russeth, Hawk, and Zakren make their way to the woods While Druid and Isreal are back at the mill leaving Marticus to go off hunting.
Druid looks Isreal in the eyes. "Shall we rejoin them?"
Russeth nods at Elina but he keeps looking ahead, "That wasn't me earlier. Why did he have to be such an ass all day." He shakes his head and continues until he reaches the edges, he turns and looks at Marticus departing. "Why is he going hunting? Who said we're stopping?"
Zakren shrugs to Russeth..."Might as well go in the woods with the morning light."
Elina nods, understanding what had been going on. "Still dear you should hold your anger better." Elina reprimanded Russeth gently.
Marticus walks back to the group
[Druid]: "I'll admit that Russeth was looking for an opportunity...but so were you." She chuckles at you.
Zakren shakes his head at Elina..."He attacked first...he forfeited his life.
Russeth nods at Zakren, "If he comes back he better have a different attitude, we will wait here tonight and see if they come back then."
[Druid]: "I know...but compromises must be made, more often than not."
Russeth nods again at Zakren, "Listen to the wise cleric. I was sheathing my longsword when he tried to punch me. I could've pretty well taken his life." He brings an open fist before him and clenches it in front of himself as he speaks.
[Zakren]: "Ohh sure...he comes back...looks changed and slits your throat in the night...come on you aren't that naive."
Russeth shrugs at Zakren, "I have the dog. And will make sure Elina is awake when I'm asleep." He grins at her.
[Druid]: "I don't know about you, my friend, but I intent to rejoin them. Elina needs me, and, frankly, I need Elina. However, I need you too. We've been through too much together to split now."
Marticus rejoins the group with Russeth
Zakren removes his bow from his shoulder and loads it.
Elina giggles. "Well I will never understand the ways of a ranger." She smiles sweetly at Russeth. "But I hope I will be able to understand the man."
Russeth glares into the depths of the forests and then looks around at the environment just around their encampment, watching for traces of animals in the surroundings.
[Marticus]: "there is nothing in the forest to eat"
Zakren takes some bread from his pack and begins to eat..."Doesn't matter."
You sit at the edge of the forest as mist can be seen swirling from within as it makes its way across the ground with the sun all but gone from the sky you hear in the distance the call of the wolves.
Russeth notices Zakren taking out, some bread and remember he is holding Elina's. He reaches into his sack for it and tosses two of the four he has to her. "Sorry, dear, forgot to give them to you earlier."
[Marticus]: "lets set up camp for the night"
Elina smiles at Russeth and eats a piece of bread. Upon finishing her dinner, Elina starts her studying for the night.
Zakren gathers some things in a pouch and throws it over to Russeth..."I'm tired of carrying our stuff...your turn."
Marticus takes some rations and some water and downs it, looking down to his dog "I am sorry but I have no food for you, go hunt for some"
[Druid]: But I got to know you, did I not. Elina seems to have gotten to know you faster than I."
Russeth laughs at Zakren as he looks within the pouch, "Alright." He dives into his backpack and finds a proper compartment for the stuff. He withdraws another pouch and takes a seat besides his beloved with a smile; he digs his hand in and takes out a small sugar bun. With quick motion it his in front of Elina, he grins slightly, "Have a bite!"
Marticus watches as the dog cocks his head curiously then patters out to dog look for some food while he sets up his tent and goes to gather wood for a fire.
Elina does not notice the bun as she is in deep concentration with study.
Russeth whistles to his dog, "Our dogs seem to have a bond, this is great." He smiles as the dog strolls by he digs a small bun for him, "You keep growling at threats like that boy that’s how I like it." He grins as he pets the dog on the head.
The bugs in this area seem heavier then others possibly living and breeding in the standing waters about the area. The sun has gone as the stars begin to grow brighter by every passing minute. So far no signs of Druid or Isreal can be seen coming down the trail.
Marticus chuckles, "at least some of us are getting along"
Russeth moves aside from the edge of the forest as the sun has set and builds up his tent in a few minutes. "I will be taking the first watch tonight, alone, anyone got objections?" He glares at everyone awaiting answers.
Marticus shrugs "wake me up for my watch" Moving to his tent as the two dogs set up watch positions by Russeth.
Zakren shakes his head..."Everyone sleep or watch within 5 feet of me."
Marticus grins as he goes in and goes to sleep
Russeth nods at Marticus, "I will not be the one waking you but that's okay." He points to the ground besides his dog and the dog quickly drops to the ground lying. He nods slightly as the dog crawls, next to Zakren, "I will be hidden in the wilderness aside the camp, do not worry." He darts quickly into the darkness of the human eye.
Zakren shakes his head..."You got to stay close or your be affected by my spell."
Russeth is already gone as Zakren speaks.
Elina sighs and takes the bun from Russeth with thanks. Placing the bun into her pouch, she makes her way close to Zakren and starts to memorize her spells.
Russeth makes his way off near the trees and disappears from sight as you bed down for the night.
Zakren moves 10 feet away from the group and begins to chant. As he finishes, a purple circle appears in a 10 feet radius around him and quickly fades.
A couple hours pass as the others finish their prayers and spells before going to sleep. Druid and Isreal make their way over the hill into camp and bed down for the night.
[Elina]: "Isreal are you ok?" Elina gives Isreal a look of concern.
Zakren goes to sleep after his spell.
[Isreal]: "bloody an bruised but not dead "
Russeth glares at Druid and Isreal as they arrive but says not a word, watching them bed for the night. After he sees they have started camping he slowly walks around on the side of the circle Zakren has cast, and shakes off Marticus by the shoulder, blinking repeatedly as he wakes him.
Marticus mumbles then slowly opens his eyes "my watch?"
Russeth nods at Marticus without a word.
Marticus grumbles then gets up and goes over to the fire
Elina continues in her fitful sleep.
Isreal just lay there on the ground eyes closed
Marticus yawns and looks around bleary-eyed trying to wake himself up
Zakren continues to sleep within his protective circle.
Marticus goes into Zakren's tent and shakes him repeatedly. "Zakren, wake up" continues shaking Zakren.
Russeth crawls into his tent, glaring at Isreal's bed spot suspiciously, his dog is lying just outside. He hurls himself in and falls on the semi-flat ground with no sound; he quickly drifts off to sleep.
Marticus grumbles and kicks Zakren squarely in the side. As his foot grows motionless, as he stands there half cocked to kick Zakren again.
