Description
Cynica seems to be an innocent elf-maid at first glance, but she is not. Her gentle and delicate face belied her ferociousness well. She seems mysteriously feminine, with long golden lashes fringing her gray eyes, which compliments her glistening almond-shaped eyes. Her sublime creamy pale skin, goes well with her smooth flowing, wavy, blonde hair that spills to her bosom, emitting a scent of spring. She has a strong, proud nose, a delicate sensuous mouth, making her an elf-maid most males long for. Each of her features, alone, was startling in its perfection. All her features, together, are breathtaking. Her slim body lithe in a white silk blouse goes in compliment with her snow-white skirt, further boosting the shapely body beneath. A shiny plate of full mail covers her well-formed bosom down to her legs. A hooded cloak, white as the snow upon a mountain's peak, lies upon her slim shoulders, flowing down to her knees. A holy Symbol of Tempus shines brilliantly upon her chest.
History
A priestess, clothe in a light blue dress guides you to what must be the temple's study. Following her light, consistent footsteps, you notice her medallion of Tempus dances against her bosoms. Your mind wonders upon your agenda of being here this day, researching on this elfmaid called Cynica. Is she as pretty as this priestess that guides you? How has she gotten to be a priestess of tempus? Its extremely unusual for an elf to worship Tempus, more unusual so, her being a priest. Submerse within your thoughts, you hardly realizes that the lady has stopped and smiles upon you shyly.
"Good sir," her sweet voice penetrates your thoughts, "Please reside in this room and I will deliver the book you requested." Being somewhat rudely awaken from your thoughts, you walk into the room as directed. Before you, lies a simply furnished, but cozy room. An oak table, weathered by age stood at one end of the room. Upon it, a single lit candle proves to be the room's only source of light. A wooden chair stands close to the table. Shrugging, you took a seat upon this chair, awaiting the priestess's return.
Within moments, the priestess returns with an ancient book between her slender hands. "Do be careful with the pages within, sir, as you can see they are centuries old." saying as she places the book upon the table and leaves you.
Eagerly, you turn the cover; revealing to you the information you, and your master, so sort after. "It was a terrible day for ships and boats alike upon the seas along the coast of Kressilacc. Storm blew thru the straits causing rain and waves as high as a mountain upon the usually peaceful waters, causing any boats and ships along the docks to sink like stones. It was upon this catastrophe day, as I, Elgan, Head Priest of Tempus, wonders upon the shores of Kressilacc as the storm withered and died, looking for any that may have survive the rage of the sea, that I saw what could only be a miracle. An elf child, whom later that I realizes to be female, lies upon the shore in her cradle basket, dry and untouched by the waves and storm. I feared the worst as I inspected her, being in the cold and weather. However, my fears were unfound. She was dry and warm, as if she was never in the storm. Perhaps this child has been blessed by Tempus and sent to me, I found myself wondering, for there had not been elven kind to wonder this land since the migration of elves to Evermeet. Could this child be from a ship of elves? If so she will truly have been sent to me.
As you continue through the ancient pages, you realize Elgan decided to raise this elfin child as his own. Glimpsing pass several pages which detailed how this elfin child, named Cynica grew up as Elgan grew old, you came to notice that the writing upon the pages has changed. Elgan has pass this task, as he had passed the Head order of Tempus, to me upon his death. It seems time has finally come for him to take his place at Tempus side. It was more then 40 winters ago when Cynica arrived within these halls. Still she is, but a child. Even so, her abilities and wisdom does seemingly prove to be as one of an adult. Perhaps living amongst humans has hastened her maturity. Elgan was wise and right to take Cynica in as his own. Perhaps it is true that Tempus has sent this child here, for she has shown great potential, for both a priestess and a warrior. I, Aldric, will do my best, and impart to her what I can on Tempus. I foresee her being a great Battleguard of our lord, if that is his will.
As day turns to dusk, you labored through chapters and chapters, detailing teachings and trainings of which Cynica had gone through, drawing one conclusion. Seemingly, Cynica had been passed down each generation of the Head of the order to the next to further her teachings of Tempus. Every priest and priestess of this temple reveres her like some object sent by god. As you reach the end of the book, you notice that the writer upon the page is none other then the current Head of this temple. I now believe that Cynica is ready to take charge of this temple when it's my turn to take my place at Tempus side. However, as wise as she is to the ways of Tempus, she has yet been exposed to the elements of real life battles. Thus it's a must that she be tested worthy. I have sent her away, upsetting as it is, to everyone in this temple, to hone her skills, knowledge and wisdom. Her gauntlets and full platemail of which I have given her, will mark her as the next Head of the order of this temple. I pray that Tempus watch over her.
Closing the book, the side of your lips curls to a smile. Ah, so the chick has finally left its nest. The master will be most interested. I wonder what i wonder what would be said. The rest of your sentence was never heard as you vanish, leaving nothing but a wisp of smoke curling within the still of the room.
