Oasis In The Middle Of My Heart

There is an Oasis
In mid-summer desert
I crossed sand dunes that buried me
Of knees high
Sliding like surfer on waves over sand tides
Tumbling in the mist of heat erosion
I kill to quench my thirst
The golden fireball above me burn with fury
Evaporating me with every stride
My eyes met its match
My first encounter with Death
Welcoming me to drink his blood
Asking me to dig my hole
To find my water
I shook it off and wander on
My second encounter with Death
An hour further into my life
He offers me wine
And Gypsies to be my slaves
Licking my lips
I fall into temptation
I shook it off when my Oasis reappeared
Tumbling out of my much needed rest
I fled from him
And fall into my Oasis open arms
Her water revitalises my thirst
And wash my sin

In the middle of the Oasis
I fall into temptation with her
I drink her water
And watch Death carried his pride away

(And shook his head for the inexcusable infidelity he tried to set upon me)
