From left to right: Graham Bolton (Pinnacle Insurance) - Alan Rogers (Player) - Myself - My Father Peter (ITC)

This was taken at "The City Ground" - which for those of you who do not follow football is the home of Nottingham Forest - when I awarded Alan Rogers with the Pinnacle Insurance Player of the Month award.

It was the last home game of the season against Port Vale (which we won 2-0) and again Alan Rogers played a key role in Forest's success.

Pinnacle Insurance hosted the day - as they are the team sponsor - and they made both myself and my father feel very welcome.

The afternoon started at around midday in the Pitch Sports Diner - at the rear of the stadium - with a complementary programme and a copy of Forest Fever. I was told there was a free bar, this was an unexpected pleasure as my father was driving that day - wahey. We then enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal which I would recommend to anybody who has never eaten at the Pitch.

I was then taken behind the scenes - the lower echelons if you like - of the club, and was directed down the players tunnel (that was a thrill in itself) and onto the side of the pitch - yes I actually stood on the hallowed turf of the City Ground!!!

Having presented the award to Alan Rogers, who was alot smaller than I thought, but then again I am 6'2" tall anyway, I was told that an interview with Radio Nottingham was lined up - even more "fame for a day" - but due to events overrunning it was cancelled at the last minute!

We then went to our seats, which were in the Castle Club situated below the Upper Tier of the Trent End and behind some glass. Good job too as it was not a very warm day at all.

The game itself was quite entertaining for the Forest faithfull, as Forest played with greater conviction as it was the last home game of the season. They did not dissapoint and came out 2-0 winners - with David Prutton scoring his first ever senior goal, and Stern John adding to his tally after injury.

After the match, the hospitality continued in high spirits. It was a memorable day, both for the hospitality of the club sponsors as well as for the football. I can only hope the unbeaten run continues into next season, and that we can push for promotion.
