Final Fantasy 8 is for the Playstation console. It is an awsome RPG. The storyline isnt the best, and its kind of short (even though it has 4 cds). Its main character is Squall. Squall is a SeeD member. SeeD are an elite military group. You can control about 7 characters (from what I know). Squall, Selphi, Irvin, Zell, Quistis, Seifer, and Rinoa. Max number of characters in a party is 3.

Also, periodically through the game, Squall has dreams. Theese dreams include 3 characters, Laguna, Kiros, and Ward. You can control them also in dreams. The dreams are really anoying. I like the main plot better. But, some might disagree. I think that you'll find the dreams quite anoying.

The game is pretty much the same as Final Fantasy 7, but there are a couple differences. The main difference is a function called Junction.^_^That rhymes:) Well, junctioning allows you to place certain Magics in certain parts of your character to make him stronger. Like, lets say you have 100 curas(a healing magic). If you junction those curas to HP, you will have more HP unless something else was junctioned to HP that is stronger. Thats kind of confusing, but they have tutorials.

There is also a card game. If you can find someone to play you, its kind of fun. It Sort of like magic. They also have card game tutorials in the game as well.

You can still summon in FF8, except it isnt called summoning. You have a GF. Your GF can learn certain abilities such as Boost. Boost allows you to boost the power of your GF when you use it. You can also Junction GFs to certain people.

When you play the game, there will be one difference you will notice right off the bat. BETTER GRAPHICS! Thats right! FF8 uses CG graphics. Its really cool!^_^

In the game, there is something called "Limit Breaks." When you are running out of HP, you can use a limit break to deliver a powerful attack. Quistis learns Various limit breaks with items.
