White Rock is a coastal town near the border with Washington. The town (and beach) is so-named because of a large boulder that is painted white that sits on the beach. More importantly, BNSF's international track into Vancouver passes through here, right along the beach. The line was originally built by Great Northern. The photos show just how close you can get to it. Amtrak's Cascade Talgo also comes through here on a daily basis.
Contrary to what I had thought, it is impossible to escape BNSF's ubiquitous DASH 9's even in Canada. However, this one is a little special - #740 was one of the original three units to wear the Premium Heritage paint scheme, and this was the first and only time I saw it.
It's the "Coast Line" of Canada!
