After being married for two years, my husband and I found out we were pregnant in July 1998. It was a moment I would never ever forget. The moment the doctor comfirmed the test results, my heart was filled with joy unknown to me before. We were the happiness we had ever been.
My husband accompanied me at my eleventh week check-up. I had an ultrasound scheduled for that visit and hence we were both estactic over the idea of hearing our baby's heart beat and seeing an image of him or her. While doing the ultrasound the doctor's face grew a bit grim. After what seemed like eternity, he told us that I had miscarried. Those words felt like a stab in my heart. The following days, weeks and months I felt lost and empty. For the first time in my life, I couldn't understand what was really happening to me. My husband and I went through a very difficult time but our faith in God pulled us through. Our precious angel whom we named Gabriel has a special place in our hearts.
