///     THE KITE PICS ARE HERE!

July 4 - Thursday

Cornerstone here we come!

We were going to leave last night but we got stuck in major Chicago traffic and it made us both crabby so we decided to leave this morn. Good idea. :) Should be fun! Reliant K, Pedro the Lion, Unwed Sailor... good things are in the air.

I should have pics of my brother's weddin' up here soon, sometime when I get back that is.

Yesterday we took the kiddies swimming all afternoon. It was great fun. Dunking, splashing, flipping, throwing kids all day is F U N to me!

I better get on out to Cstone. Later!

July 2 - Tuesday

Goin' to a baseball game today...

That's right, got my camp shirt on and my sunblock rarin' to go. Should be exhausting.

This weekend my brother got hitched. It was a great time, I cried a bunch. I'm such a sap. Got to see Jilly and Kevvy which was awesome. We all played spades and Jill and I kicked the boys' butts.

This morning on my way to the bus, some woman came up to me asking if I had a cell phone. She had been on her bike and some guy sitting on the bench saw her, ran up and pushed her off her bike. Her hands were all skinned up and bleeding. He took her bike and her bag with all her things. She was hysterical. Makes ya think twice about riding in Chicago, eh?

I best be getting to work. Lots of kiddies to handle today.

Thar ya be Jilly! I updated her!

June 24 - Monday

I am beat.

This weekend has been crazy. Loaded with fun times.

Thursday Tina and I rode our bikes to work, all of five miles!

Friday I got a swimsuit so finally I have one of my own. I couldn't be more happy.

Then on Saturday Joel made a fantastic breakfast, and then we headed off to swim at an Indiana Dunes beach. After that Joel cooked yet another fabulous meal for dinner, steaks, baked potato, veggies, and a wonderful salad. It was bliss.

Sunday we went to Cedar Lake, Indiana and went out in this awesome speed boat and then took the jet ski out for a romp on the waves. Another blissful time.

My legs are insanely sore. I guess that's what happens when one exercises... hmmm...

So that's my update. :)

June 17 - Monday

I loathe my neighbors.

Despite the distorted, insanely loud salsa music they blare consistantly, they had to go and squirt water guns at my windows. Luckily my living room windows were closed, but my bathroom window wasn't. Mixed with the dirt and grime that was on the outside of it, now basically I have mud caked all over my bathtub and wall. PLUS! My apartment building put a lock on a second door in the lobby, so you have to go through two doors to get in... well my key doesn't work in the second door. So how am I supposed to get into my building? Interesting, eh? *sigh* only three more months... three more months...

On a brighter note, I bought myself a bike helmet and a pad for my seat. I'm going to start riding to work as soon as my bus pass is done for. It should be a beautiful ride. :)

This weekend Joel took me to a steak house where we can throw peanut shells on the floor. There was a live band there that were playing all the good old rock n roll.

I best be on my way!

June 11 - Tuesday

So lazy am I.

My apartment is a wreck. I live in seriously gross conditions. Ain't it grand. I must clean. I have so much to do - work, email, clean, laundry, check out schools, etc. And do I end up doing these things? Nope! Typical me.

I think I'm going to start riding my bike to work as much as I can. I would save like 60 bucks a month and that way I could save some money for after AmeriCorps is up. Yeah.

Well... I'm beat. I should have a new layout up here any day now. :)

June 2 - Sunday

AHHHHHHH!!!!!

I went back home and had a great visit. My brother and Jamie got a TON of stuff at the wedding shower and they had really awesome cake there. :) I didn't bring my bike back b/c I had a bunch of bags with me. Plus it's all rusted and needs a new tire and it would take some time to repair before I could ride it. So I figured I'd bring it back the next time I went down.

So then Joel's mom picked me up from the station and brought me back to their house. Joel was coming back from Michigan visiting his uncle so I went to bed and then saw him in the morning. Then on memorial day we put up a hammock and cooked a meal with his brother and mom. Just relaxed. It was good.

Then on Tuesday I ventured forth to Wisconsin for work. A few of us AmeriCorps members went up there for a week and fixed up this camp that our summer kids use. I had to sanitize the whole cafeteria kitchen and then did all the bedding and towel laundry. Crap jobs. :) Other's painted and such. It was so beautiful there! Right on this huge lake with plenty of wildlife to keep me entertained.

I got back on Friday and Joel came up to see me. He said he wanted to go get a frisbee and go out to eat so that's what we did. We went to SportMart, looked at the bike stuff, got him some sandals and got a frisbee. Then the little stinker goes back up to the bike floor and starts making off with this bike I had said I liked. I was like, hold it there a minute pahdnah! But he just smiled and wheeled the bike into the elevator. I didn't know how to respond exactly. I'm not used to that kind of thing. So long story short, he really surprised me. SO NOW I HAVE A BIKE!!! A good one with tires and no rust! :) I can't believe it. So anyway, here it is: MOo's MongOose

So yeah, he bought a bike lock and we went to Rainforest Cafe right across the street. We locked it up but were freaking out during dinner that it wouldn't be there when we got back... but it was. :) Good thing! Then we rode/walked the bike back to my apartment --> 3 miles! We were tired! But it was great, to see the city at night, all the lights, and have it all to ourselves for those few hours. Nice.

Then yesterday I slept in until 2 and then we went to this beach in Indiana. The weather was beautiful! We played frisbee and got our feet wet in the freezing cold lake. Ahhh Devine.

Today I slept in until 1:24. Not sure if I'll get anything done today or not. If Joel is up to it he might bring his roller blades up and we'll go out with the bike again. :) We'll see.

Until I update again...

May 24 - Friday

Goin' home...

I'm at work just waiting around until I leave today at 3. I'm going to jump on the Amtrak and jet on down home. It's my brother's wedding shower so I guess I won't be getting any presents... I'll just have to sit and watch other's getting presents and being all happy and such. Shucky-dern. ;) Then I'm bringing my bike back with me so I can venture forth into the sunny summer weather ahead of me. Plus I can't roller blade outside and Joel likes to, so now we can be fast on wheels together. So now I'm going to go to the library and try to find a book to read on the bus. Ah! I'm reading the most FANTASTIC book! If you haven't read C.S. Lewis' Out Of The Silent Planet pick it up right away. Amazing reading. Yes sir.

This is my moo-cow named MOoTOo. Say hello to her! Welcome her to the page. :)
