"He maketh the storm a calm,
so that the waves thereof are still."
Psalms 107:29
Emotions are normal
under certain circumstances
when we go through
a tragedy or loss.
We feel depressed
when we focus too long
upon our sorrows.
We learn to fight to live
to focus our attention
upon good thoughts.
However, these emotions can cripple
our ability to meet life's challenges,
they lead us to make us blind to good choices,
they affect our ability to enjoy life
or maintain a loving relationship.
I may have stumbled a thousand times
Attempting to reach a goal,
But God lifted me up each time
Said: continue on; I am with you,
Tired and lonely sometimes.
The urge to cry and give up
Even once tried to end my life
Many a time grief would overwhelm me.
But sometimes a song or a word
would lift me out once again.
To see the sun shining, piercing
Through clouds of uncertainties,
And a peace return to my soul within
And I knew- just knew somehow
One day those clouds would be all lifted.
God gave me a passion to live again
And stay in trust and love for a future.
He gave me the courage to
put one foot in front of the other.
Each day was a step closer to a mile accomplished
No matter the criticism from those
Who were convinced I was not where I needed to be
God filled me with hope again and I knew,
the storm in my mind was over another day!
I am learning to not doubt God's love for me,
His love impermeates me through all times!!
