Now he who supplies seed to the sower
and bread for food will also supply and
increase your store of seed and will
enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
– 2 Corinthians 9:10
Now listen to the whispers on the winds saying…
The weather changes;
Cooler winds blow
Sunsets arrive earlier,
Autumn once again says, hello
The seasons change quickly, we know.
And those changes, we must embrace
And go about at slower pace
To savor the beauty of it’s time
Many know they gather the harvest.
Those hot days are now gone by
A few more clouds gather in the sky
How much we gain in each moment
The magical vibrant colors,
embedding pictures within.
I think of the rest
which comes to the farmer
How they who worked hard
to plant in the spring
Now they can reap the rewards
Of summer's dedications of sweat
On their brows behind the plows.
Before the next season begins,
there is a promise of provisions tomorrow.
It comes to the grateful heart who sees
We need to look around, embrace it, not weep.
From the sky to the ground,
We can now taste of those
Precious fruits of the lands
Which came from callous hands!
So many treasures are there
As we reflect on our gains
Remembering to thank those
Who truly worked through the sun's pains.
Even smiling through the rains in between.
Make the most of life in the now
Because those memories remain
When you sit and look out the window
In our senior years, we can reminisce
& Dig into all our yesteryears' treasures.
For I know the plans I have for you,'
declares the Lord,
'plans to prosper you
and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
- Jeremiah 29:11-12
